Gathering Hymn.…......We All Are One In Mission…..…..#576

We all are one in mission; we all are one in call, our varied gifts united by Christ, the Lord of all. A single great commission compels us from above to plan and work together that all may know Christ’s love.

We all are called for service, to witness in God’s name. Our ministries are different; our purposes is the same: to touch the lives of others with God’s surprising grace, so every folk and nation may feel God’s warm embrace.

Now let us be united, and let our song be heard. Now let us be a vessel for God’s redeeming Word. We all are one in mission; we all are one in call, our varied gifts united by Christ, the Lord of all.

Greeting P: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

C: And also with you.

Confession P: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: cleanse our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you and worthily magnify your holy name. Amen. C: Gracious God, we confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy upon us, forgive us and lead us in your will and to walk in your ways,

to the glory of your holy name. Amen. P: God, who is rich in mercy, loved us even when we were dead in sin, and made us alive together in Christ. By grace you are saved and forgiven in the name of Jesus Christ. May God strengthen you with power through the Holy Spirit that Christ may live in your hearts through faith. Amen.

Hymn of the DayLove, You Give The Great

Commission……………#579

Lord, you give the great commission: “Heal the sick and preach the word.” Lest the church neglect its mission, and the gospel go unheard, help us witness to y0ur purpose with renewed integrity.

Refrain: With the Spirit’s gifts empower us for the work of ministry.

Lord, you call us to your service: “In my name baptize and teach.” That the world may rust your promise, life abundant meant for each, give us all new fervor, draw us closer in community. Refrain.

Page 8: oslcwhitehall.orgoslcwhitehall.org/docs/July3BulletinLP.docx  · Web viewa vessel for God’s redeeming Word. We all are one in mission; we all are one in call, our varied gifts

Lord, you make the common holy: “This my body, this my blood.” Let us all, for earth’s true glory, daily lift life heavenward, asking that the world around us share your children’s liberty. Refrain.

Lord, you show us love’s true measure: “Father, what they do, forgive.” Yet we hoard as private treasure all that you so freely give. May your care and mercy lead us to a just society. Refrain. Lord, you bless with words assuring: “I am with you to the end.” Faith and hope and love restoring, may we serve as you intend and, amid the cares that claim us, hold in mind eternity. Refrain.

Apostles Creed……….…….……………..…………………Page 105

Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Holy Communion Holy Communion is a time to build our relationship with Jesus who is present with us in this meal. So come, all those with great faith and all those who are seeking, all those who have been here often and all those who have just come. Come, the Lord welcomes you to the table. We have gluten free wafers and non-alcoholic wine in the center and tell an usher if you are unable to come forward, as communion will be brought to you.

Sending Hymn..…...O Beautiful For Spacious Skies…....#888

O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain: America! America! God shed his grace on thee, and

crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.

O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife, who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life: America! America! May God thy gold refine, till all success be nobleness, and every gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears: America! America! God mend thine ev’ry flaw, confirm thy soul in self control, thy liberty in law.

P: Go in peace. Share God’s love with all! C: Thanks be to God!
