SIMPACK Multi-Body Simulation Software
Software Update
We are pleased to inform you that SIMPACK Version 9.3 has been officially released. SIMPACK
9.3 provides significant updates compared to SIMPACK 9.2, especially with the introduction of
the new module SIMPACK Real-Time.
Detailed information about updates and new features can be found in the release notes section of
the SIMPACK documentation.
SIMPACK Real-Time
SIMPACK Real-Time is a new module dedicated to use any SIMPACK
model in real-time environments (HiL test rigs, desktop simulators).
SIMPACK Real-Time enables to achieve sub-millisecond real-time
simulation of complex multi-body models. As an example, real-time
simulation of complex vehicle models of over 200 DOF has been
already achieved in industrial applications.
Moreover, SIMPACK Real-Time natively supports all modeling
features of SIMPACK.
SIMPACK Real-Time supports running real-time simulations on multicore platforms.
For parallel simulation, the multithread partitioning of the simulation model is done automatically.
SIMPACK RT can be easily integrated in different hardware set-ups. Predefined integration targets
include: dSPACE DS1006QC and Concurrent iHawk platforms. Generic customizable user targets are
available.
SIMPACK Real-Time has already been applied to applications such as
real-time driving simulators and powertrain test rigs.
For driving simulator applications, SIMPACK Real-Time also supports user
input devices such as the Sensodrive force feedback steering wheel for
simulators or a gaming steering wheel for fast testing of vehicle models on
desktop simulators.
SIMPACK Real-Time also supports a new remote real-time animation and
logging mode. The real-time animation mode allows the visualization of the
online real-time animation from a remote computer.

SIMPACK Wizard
SIMPACK Wizard allows non-expert engineers to perform complex
simulations scenarios using predefined configurable models.
With SIMPACK 9.3, SIMPACK Wizard has been enhanced to provide
better flexibility for managing parameterized components.
SIMPACK Flex Modal
In SIMPACK Post, it is now possible to export the position and
velocity of any set of flexible body nodes.
The finite element mesh of flexible body can be replaced by a coarser ‘visualization
mesh' for the representation of its deformation. The coarser mesh improves the
graphics performance but does not affect results quality.
Mass and stiffness matrix can now be scaled manually. This feature
can be used to evaluate the consequences of eigenvalues shift or to
evaluate the influence of a material change.

SIMPACK Rail
Rail-wheel contact can now be switched to work in “roller rig” mode.
In the roller rig mode, SIMPACK now considers the longitudinal rolling-off properly.
The roller untrueness can also be modeled using “track excitations”.
SIMPACK CATSIM V5
The interface between SIMPACK and CATIA V5 has been upgraded
to support CATIA V5R21.
CATSIM is now able to directly create SIMPACK 9 models from
CATIA products and parts.
SIMPACK Pre
Input function can now be scaled in x and y-axis.
This feature can be used for example to quickly perform a
parameter variation on a nonlinear input function (non-linear
stiffness curve for example)
