printer including a full maintenance contract. .

Family Foundations

Just under 2 weeks ago, we experienced an armed robbery on the premises at Jacobs Well Village headquarters. Although the per-

petrators got away with some personal jewelry, and much of the office equipment and cell phones, we consider ourselves blessed

and protected. Apart from two minor injuries, we are all safe and sound, thanks to the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have initiat-

ed ongoing counselling and post traumatic stress support for all residents at the village. We would like to thank Elna and Whitey for

continuing to help us grow in our vision of applying Whole Person Development in the areas of body, soul and spirit.

We are also very grateful for the ongoing services of Charlotte Killian, as she makes her way weekly to the girls at our school in Val-

halla. Elna and Whitey also provide ongoing counselling and guidance for one of the families at Valhalla high school.

We have completed building the frailcare center, and Jimmy (90 years) and Hetta (86) has settled in well and are experiencing the

Government Participation

Jacobs Well Village recently signed a contract with the Department of Mental Health to continue our services to children with special

needs. We have also received a clean bill of health from that department after 3 standard inspections this year so far. The South

African Roads Department are in the process of building a dam for us on the Jacobs Well property. We are very grateful to the de-

partment for this partnership as a dam would make a significant difference to our plant tunnels, and vegetable garden projects. Free-

hand Studios was also recently awarded through the Department of Environmental Affairs.

Art and Culture Development

Look out for upcoming fine art workshops at Jacobs Well Village, hosted by Hettie du Toit.

Whether our members use the skills they acquire for their own enjoyment and relaxation, or whether they choose to

create products or trade, we support the benefits of creative expression.
