Dear Friends,

On behalf of the entire IFODS Scientific Committee, it is our honor to announce the second edition of IFODS, which will be held from the 11th to the 13th of JUNE 2019. Following the

success of the first edition in 2018, and thanks to you, your presence, your commitment and your participation, a great number of our fellow oncologists and many of our partners asked us to organize another IFODS. In order to make the meeting even more special, we have decided to change the venue and opt for a more symbolic location: THE “MAISON INTERNATIONALE” AT THE HEART OF THE “CITÉ UNIVERSITAIRE DE PARIS”. This location is consistent with our focus on innovation in the context of French and international collaboration.

Faced with the staggering rise in the incidence of cancer, fortunately offset by outstanding advances in the area of cancer research, both scientific and therapeutic, in which France plays an exemplary role internationally, more than ever we must gather our efforts to fight this disease. Today IFODS is the only French oncology conference which brings together the majority of the relevant French scientific societies (devoted to cancer science and patients) with some other international scientific societies (such as newly for this year AACR and EACR) This year, once again, the “Société Française du Cancer” (SFC) will provide its commitment to IFODS by opening the conference with an extraordinary session on “The Future of Oncology”, organized with the support of scientists, young oncologists and other international scientific societies. IFODS is deeply honored to welcome within its scientific committee and during several sessions the patients and patient’s organizations. They can not only benefit from learning with us during the conference, but can also find a welcoming forum for interaction with healthcare professionals. France maintains a position of excellence and remains a key player in the area of oncology on a glo-bal scale. Scientific exchange is critical for us and the entire field. We would be delighted for you to join us for the Second Edition of IFODS, from the 11th to the 13th of June 2019, at a special venue in Paris. The meeting will include a state of the art update on the rapid evolution in cancer research, biomarkers, and issues related to patient access to newer therapeutic modalities — with an excep-tional panel of French and International Experts in the Oncology field. We thank you in advance for your support and your participation.

Kind regards, Jean-Philippe SPANO, MD, PhD
