Nehemiah

And they said to me, "The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province [are] there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem [is] also

broken down, and its gates [are burned] with fire." So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down

and wept, and mourned [for many] days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

هناك السبي من بقوا الذين الباقين ان لي فقالوااورشليم سور و عار و عظيم فيشر هم البالد في

. بالنار محروقة ابوابها و هذا منهدم سمعت فلماصليت صمتو و اياما نحت و بكيت و جلست الكالم

. السماء اله امام

And I said: "I pray, LORD God of heaven, O great and awesome God, [You] who keep [Your] covenant

and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments,. "please let Your ear be

attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now

المخوف العظيم االله السماء اله الرب ايها قلت و . وصاياه حافظي و لمحبيه الرحمة و العهد الحافظصالة لتسمع مفتوحتين عيناك و مصغية اذنك لتكن

االن اليك يصلي الذي عبدك

day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father's house and I have sinned. "We have acted very corruptly against

You, and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded

Your servant Moses. (Neh 1:3-7)

يعترف و عبيدك اسرائيل بني الجل ليال و نهاراانا فاني اليك بها اخطانا التي اسرائيل بني بخطايا

. لم و امامك افسدنا لقد اخطانا قد ابي بيت وبها امرت التي االحكام الفرائضو و الوصايا نحفظ

(. نح عبدك (7- 3: 1موسى

Then I said to them, "You see the distress that we [are] in, how Jerusalem [lies] waste, and its

gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no

longer be a reproach". (Neh 2:17)

فيه نحن الذي الشر ترون انتم لهم قلت ثماحرقت قد ابوابها و خربة اورشليم كيفان

بعد نكون ال و اورشليم فنبنيسور هلم بالنار)17:2نح . (عارا

"O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of

Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man" For I was the

king's cupbearer . (Neh 1:11)

صالة و عبدك الىصالة مصغية اذنك لتكن سيد ياالنجاح اعط و اسمك مخافة يريدون الذين عبيدكالني الرجل هذا امام رحمة امنحه و لعبدك اليوم

) . نح للملك )11 : 1كنتساقيا

Furthermore I said to the king, "If it pleases the king, let letters be given to me for the governors [of the

region] beyond the River, that they must permit me to pass through till I come to Judah,"and a letter to

Asaph the keeper of the king's forest,

فلتعطليرسائل الملك عند حسن ان للملك قلت ولكي النهر عبر والة الى يجيزونيالى اصل حتى

اسافحارسفردوسالملك. الى رسالة و يهوذا

that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel which [pertains] to the temple, for

the city wall, and for the house that I will occupy" And the king granted [them] to me according to the good

hand of my God upon me. ( Neh 2:7,8)

الذي القصر ابواب لسقف اخشابا يعطيني لكياليه ادخل الذي للبيت و المدينة لسور و للبيت. علي الصالحة الهي يد الملكحسب فاعطاني

)8 , 7 : 2نح (

So I came to Jerusalem and was there three days. Then I arose in the night, I and a few men with me; I told no one what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem; nor was there any animal with me, except the one on which I rode.

. ايام ثالثة هناك كنت و اورشليم الى فجئتلم و معي قليلون رجال و انا ليال قمت ثمقلبيالعمله الهيفي جعله بما احدا اخبر

اال بهيمة معي يكن لم و اورشليم في. راكبها كنت التي البهيمة

And I went out by night through the Valley Gate to the Serpent Well and the Refuse Gate, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were burned

with fire. ( Neh 2 :11-13)

عين امام ليال الوادي باب خرجتمن واتفرسفي صرت و الدمن باب الى التنينالتي ابوابها و المنهدمة اورشليم اسوار

. النار )13 , 11 :2نح( اكلتها

Beyond the Horse Gate the priests made repairs, each in front of his [own] house. (Neh 3:28)

واحد كل الكهنة رممه الخيل باب فوق ومانح ( بيته )28 :3مقابل

So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth [day] of Elul, in fifty-two days.) Neh 6:15)

من العشرين الخامسو في السور كمل و ) . نح يوما خمسين و اثنين في )15 : 6ايلول

Then my God put it into my heart to gather the nobles, the rulers, and the people, that they

might be registered by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of those who had

come up in the first [return,] and found written in it (Neh 7 :5)

و الوالة و العظماء اجمع ان الهي فالهمنيانتساب االنتسابفوجدتسفر الشعبالجل

) نح فيه مكتوبا ووجدت اوال صعدوا )5 :7الذين

In the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah all Israel gave the portions for the

singers and the gatekeepers, a portion for each day. They also consecrated [holy things] for the Levites, and the Levites consecrated [them] for

the children of Aaron(Neh 12 :47)

ايام و زربابل ايام في اسرائيل كل كان وامر البوابين و المغنين انصبة يؤدون نحميا

و لالويين يقدسون كانوا و يومه في يوم كل ). نح هرون لبني يقدسون الالويون 47 :12كان

(

So it was, from that time on, [that] half of my servants worked at construction, while the other half held the spears, the shields, the bows, and

[wore] armor; and the leaders [were] behind all the house of Judah. Those who built on the wall,

and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at

construction,

يشتغلون نصفغلماني كان اليوم ذلك من وو الرماح يمسكون نصفهم و العمل في

كل وراء الرؤساء و الدروع و القسي االتراسو. يهوذا حاملو بيت و بنوا السور على البانون

العمل يعملون الواحدة باليد حملوا االحمال

and with the other held a weapon. Every one of the builders had his sword girded at his side as he

built. And the one who sounded the trumpet [was] beside me. ( Neh 4 : 16-18)

. البانون كان و السالح يمسكون باالخرى وو جنبه مربوطعلى واحد سيفكل و يبنون

) . نح بجانبي بالبوق النافخ )18 -16 : 4كان

Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square that [was] in front of the Water

Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had

commanded Israel. So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women

التي الساحة الى واحد الشعبكرجل كل اجتمعياتي ان الكاتب لعزرا قالوا و الماء باب امام

الرب بها امر التي موسى شريعة بسفرامام. بالشريعة الكاتب عزرا فاتى اسرائيل

النساء و الرجال من الجماعة

and all who [could] hear with understanding on the first day of the seventh month.Then he read from it in the open square that [was] in front of

the Water Gate from morning until midday, before the men and women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people [were attentive] to the Book of the Law. ( Neh 8 :1-3)

الشهر من االول اليوم في يسمع ما فاهم كل وباب. امام التي الساحة امام فيها قرا و السابعالرجال امام النهار نصف الى الصباح من الماءالشعب كل اذان كانت و الفاهمين و النساء و

الشريعة سفر .نحو3 – 1 : 8نح ) )

Then the king said to me, "What do you request?" So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the

king, "If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that

I may rebuild it". (Neh 2:4,5)

الى انتفصليت طالب ماذا الملك لي فقالالسماء .اله

احسن اذا و الملك سر اذا للملك قلت ومدينة الى يهوذا الى ترسلني امامك عبدك

) . نح فابنيها ابائي )4,5 : 2قبور

And our adversaries said, "They will neither know nor see anything, till we come into their midst and kill them and cause the work to cease“.So it was,

when the Jews who dwelt near them came, that they told us ten times, "From whatever place you turn,

[they will be] upon us". Therefore I positioned [men] behind the lower parts of the wall, at the openings

ندخل حتى يرون ال و يعلمون ال اعداؤنا قال و . لما و العمل نوقف و نقتلهم و الىوسطهمعشر لنا قالوا بجانبهم الساكنون اليهود جاء

. الينا رجعوا منها التي االماكن جميع مراتمنوراء الموضع اسفل الشعبمن فاوقفت

القمم على و السور

and I set the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, "Do not be

afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses".

( Neh 4 : 11 – 14)

و بسيوفهم حسبعشائرهم اوقفتهم . قلت قمتو نظرتو و قسيهم و رماحهم

تخافوهم الشعبال لبقية و الوالة و للعظماءحاربوا و المرهوب العظيم السيد اذكروا بل

و نسائكم و بناتكم و بنيكم و اخوتكم اجل من )14 – 11 :4نح( بيوتكم.

انتو انك يقول جشم و االمم بين سمع قدالسور تبني انت لذلك تتمردوا ان تفكرون اليهود

. اقمت قد و االمور هذه حسب ملكا لهم لتكونقائلينفي اورشليم في بك لينادوا انبياء ايضافهلم الكالم بهذا الملك يخبر االن و ملك يهوذا

معا نتشاور .االنIn it [was] written: It is reported among the nations, and

Geshem says, [that] you and the Jews plan to rebel; therefore, according to these rumors, you are rebuilding the wall, that you may be their king. And you have also

appointed prophets to proclaim concerning you at Jerusalem, saying, 'There is a king in Judah!' Now these matters will be reported to the king. So come, therefore,

and let us consult together.

Then I sent to him, saying, "No such things as you say are being done, but you invent them in your own

heart“. For they all [were trying to] make us afraid, saying, "Their hands will be weakened in the work,

and it will not be done" Now therefore, [O God,] strengthen my hands. ( Neh 6 : 6-9)

الكالم هذا مثل يكون ال قائال اليه فارسلت . قلبك من مختلقه انت انما بل تقوله الذي

ارتخت قد قائلين يخيفوننا جميعا كانوا النهمالهيشدد يا فاالن يعمل فال العمل عن ايديهم

نح.( )9 – 6 :6يدي

Then I said to the nobles, the rulers, and the rest of the people, "The work [is] great and extensive, and we are

separated far from one another on the wall."Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to

us there. Our God will fight for us“. So we labored in the work, and half of [the men] held the spears from

daybreak until the stars appeared. ( Neh 4 : 19 – 21)

و كثير العمل الشعب لبقية و الوالة و للعظماء فقلتبعضنا بعيدون و السور على متفرقون نحن و متسع . البوق صوت منه تسمعون الذي فالمكان بعض عن

. نعمل نحن فكنا عنا يحارب الهنا الينا تجتمعون هناكطلوع من الرماح يمسكون نصفهم كان و العمل

نح ( النجوم الىظهور )21 - 19 :4الفجر

Indeed, I also continued the work on this wall, and we did not buy any land. All my servants

[were] gathered there for the work. ( Neh 5 :16)

لم و السور هذا بشغل ايضا تمسكت ومجتمعين غلماني جميع كان و حقال اشتر

. العمل على )16 : 5نح( هناك

that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, "Come, let us meet together among the villages in

the plain of Ono" But they thought to do me harm. So I sent messengers to them, saying, "I [am] doing

a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down

to you?". ( Neh 6 : 2,3)

نجتمع هلم قائلين الي جشم سنبلطو ارسلان يفكران كانا و اونو بقعة في القرى في معا . اني قائال رسال اليهما فارسلت بيشرا يعماللماذا انزل ان اقدر فال عظيما عمال عامل انا

) . نح اليكما انزل و اتركه بينما العمل : 6يبطل2, 3(

Then it was, when the wall was built and I had hung the doors, when the gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites had been appointed,that I gave the charge of Jerusalem to my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the leader of the citadel, for he was a faithful man and

feared God more than many (Neh 7 :1,2)

ترتب و المصاريع اقمت و السور بني لما والمغنون و البوابون

رئيس . حننيا و اخي حناني اقمت الالويون ويخاف امينا رجال كان النه اورشليم على القصر

) . نح كثيرين من اكثر )2 ,1 :7الله

And the officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done; I had not yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials, or the others

who did the work. ( Neh 2 :16)

انا ما ال ذهبتو اين الى الوالة يعرف لم وو اليهود الوقت ذلك الى اخبر لم و عاملعاملي باقي و الوالة االشرافو و الكهنة

.العمل16 : 2نح ) )

So neither I, my brethren, my servants, nor the men of the guard who followed me took off our clothes, [except] that everyone took them off for washing

( Neh 4: 23)

ال غلمانيو ال و اخوتي ال و انا اكن لم وواحد كل كان ثيابنا نخلع ورائي الحراسالذين

نح ( الماء الى بسالحه )23 : 4يذهب

Moreover, from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the

twentieth year until the thirty-second year of King Artaxerxes, twelve years, neither I nor my brothers

ate the governor's provisions. ( Neh 5 :14)

اكون ان فيه اوصيت الذي اليوم من ايضا والى العشرين السنة من ارضيهوذا في واليهماثنتي الملك الرتحشستا الثالثين و الثانية السنة

. الوالي خبز اخوتي ال و انا اكل لم سنة عشرة )14 : 5نح(

Afterward I came to the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel, who [was] a secret

informer; and he said, "Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you;

indeed, at night they will come to kill you“.And I said, "Should such a man as I flee? And who [is there] such

as I who would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!“. ( Neh 6 :10 ,11)

هو و مهيطبئيل بن داليا بن بيتشمعيا دخلت والهيكل الىوسط الله بيت الى لنجتمع فقال مغلق

ليقتلوكفي ياتون النهم الهيكل ابواب نقفل و . من يهربو مثلي ارجل فقلت ليقتلوك ياتون الليل

) . نح ادخل ال فيحيا الهيكل يدخل )11, 10 : 6مثلي

Then I said to them, "You see the distress that we [are] in, how Jerusalem [lies] waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach". And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king's words that he had spoken to me. So they said, "Let us rise up and build" Then they set

their hands to [this] good [work]. ( Neh 2 :17,18)

كيفان فيه نحن الذي الشر ترون انتم لهم قلت ثمفنبني هلم بالنار احرقت قد ابوابها و خربة اورشليم . يد عن اخبرتهم و عارا بعد نكون ال و اورشليم سور

قاله الذي الملك كالم عن ايضا و علي الصالحة الهي ). نح للخير اياديهم شددوا و لنبن و لنقم فقالوا لي

2 : 17 , 18(

After serious thought, I rebuked the nobles and rulers, and said to them, "Each of you is exacting usury from his brother" So I called a great assembly against them. And I said to them, "According to our ability we have

redeemed our Jewish brethren who were sold to the nations. Now indeed, will you even sell your brethren? Or should they be sold to us?" Then they were silenced

and found nothing [to say].

قلت و الوالة و العظماء بكت و قلبيفي فشاورتاقمت و اخيه من واحد كل الربا تاخذون انكم لهم

. اخوتنا اشترينا نحن لهم قلت و عظيمة جماعة عليهمايضا انتم و حسبطاقتنا لالمم بيعوا الذين اليهود

يجدوا لم و فسكتوا لنا فيباعون اخوتكم تبيعون.جوابا

Then I said, "What you are doing [is] not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the

reproach of the nations, our enemies?"."I also, [with] my brethren and my servants, am lending them money and grain. Please, let us stop this usury!. ( Neh 5: 7-10)

تسيرون اما تعملونه الذي االمر ليسحسنا قلت و . و ايضا انا و اعدائنا االمم تعيير بسبب الهنا بخوففلنترك قمحا و فضة اقرضناهم غلماني و اخوتي

). نح الربا )10 – 7 : 5هذا

And at my table [were] one hundred and fifty Jews and rulers, besides those who came to us from the

nations around us. ( Neh 5:17)

و مئة الوالة و اليهود من مائدتي على كان واالمم من الينا االتين عن فضال رجال خمسون

. حولنا )17 : 5نح ) الذين
