Key agricultural statistics:- I.State Seed Farm:- This farm is located in Malthummeda village of Nagareddypet Mandal, which is about 42 Kms from District Headquarters. This Seed Farm is having a land of 324.22 Ha in Sy.No. 838 and 834 of Malthummeda Village. In which 24.28 Ha given to Horticulture Department. In the remaining land of 299.94 Ha only 89 Ha has brought into cultivation with water source of Pocharam Project canal through lift irrigation.
II.Boppaspally State Seed Farm:- This farm is located in Birkur Mandal, which is 70 Kms from District Headquarters. It is having an area of 199.60 Ha with Cultivable area of 90 Ha. This farm is having irrigation source from Nizamsagar Canal.
If these (2) Seed Farms develops to the total potentiality, certified seed can be produced for Paddy and Soybean Crops.

a) General Profile
Location like latitude and longitude:- Kamareddy District is bounded on the North by Nizamabad District and on the East by Rajanna
Siricilla District and Siddipet District, on the South by Medak District on the West by Nanded
District of Maharashtra State and Bidar District of Karnataka State. The Geographical area of this
district is 3,652 Sq.Kms. The District lies between 18 - 19’- 07” of Latitude and and 78 -20’-37”
Longitude.

Atmosphere and rainfall:- The Rainfall of the District is influenced by both the South West and North East monsoons.
Normal Rainfall of the District is 1040.6 mm. The contribution of rainfall from South West
Monsoon ( June to September ) is 849.0 mm and North East Monsoon (October to December ) is
135.0 mm and the remaining Rainfall is 19.6 mm in Winter season (January to Februrary) and
37.0 mm in Hot Weather period (March to May ).

Type of land:- The important soils are Black Soils and Chalka ( Sandy Loamy ) and they constitute 52 Percent and 48 Percent of Total Area of the District respectively. The erstwhile blocks of Madnoor and Banswada are predominantly covered by Black Soils and other area of the district is covered with Chalka Soils
Rivers and lakes as per availability:-
The Principal rivers flowing in the District is Manjira. The Manjira rises in Potoda taluk of Bidar district in Karnataka State, enters the district from south west. The waters of Manjira are being utilized for irrigation through the Nizamsagar dam constructed across the Manjira River near Achampet (V) in Nizamsagar Mandal.
In addition to the above a Perennial Stream viz., Kowlas Nala Vagu is being flown from Karnataka
State enters the District in Jukkal Mandal. A Mini Project has been constructed across the Vagu at Lingampali and Sawargaon villages of Jukkal Mandal and being irrigated some of the villages of Jukkal and Bichkunda Mandals.
Kamareddy district is one of the agriculturally developed districts in the Telangana state. Beedi Rolling is a well known household industry and plays an important role to provide economic activity among women. The sugarcane plantation is one of the major crops of this district. In view of this Sugar factories like GSR Sugars and Gayathri Sugar factories are established. They play an important role in the economy of the district of Kamareddy District.
Forest cover and forest resources:- The total Forest area in the District 82,190.48 Hectares forming 22.43 percent of the Total Geographical Area of the District. The thick Forest belt produces Timber, Fuel, Bamboo and Beedi Leaves, which yield good revenue. Custard Apples grow well in this District.
Predominant economic activity:-
The District Economy is mostly dependent on Agriculture sector. The increase in agriculture production and productivity will boost the health of district economy.

Fisheries details if applicable:- Nizamsagar Project and Pocharam Project combined Water Spread area to an extent of 13312.296 Ha is suitable for Fish Production.
Major mineral resources and expected quantity:-
The district is not rich in minerals, Iron ore of poor quality occurs at a few places as laterite and ferrogenous quartizites. Aluminous boles containing 24% to 35% alumina are reported from Gurja Kunta of Bhiknoor Mandal and Karedpally in Tadwai Mandal. White calcareous Kaolinised earth is found near Tippapur, Bhiknoor and Kupriyal. Granites of various quartzes and Deccan trap rocks yield excellent material for buildings and roads.
MINING: - The main activity in the District is Mining of Quartz & Feldspar, Laterite and Stone Metal. There are 36 Quarry Leases were granted in the District, in which (4) Laterite Mineral, (5) Quartz & Feldspar (1) Amethyst Quartz and (26) Building Stone & Road Metal.

Important Tourist Places:-
There are many places of tourist importance in the district. Prominent among them are Nizamsagar & Pocharam.
NIZAMSAGAR PROJECT:-
A Project namely Nizamsagar was constructed in the year 1923 across the River Manjeera, a chief tributary of the River Godawari, between Achampet and Bajnapally Villages of Nizamsagar Mandal. The site is noted for its splendid scenic beauty. The most outstanding feature of the Project is the gigantic masonery sprawling across the river for 3 Kms with a motorable road of 14 feet width over it. A Hydro Electric Power Generation Station is also established near Hassanpally Village of Nizamsagar Mandal.
POCHARAM PROJECT:-
This project is located on the Hyderabad - Nizamsagar road and was constructed on the River Aleir. The dam-site is considered to be beautiful picnic spot attracting many visitors from Hyderabad & Medak districts.
KOWLAS PROJECT:-
This project is built across Dongaon Tank between Lingamppaly and Savargaon villages of Jukkal Mandal.
b) Industrial Profile
General Statistics of industries in district:-
Kamareddy District is mostly Agriculture based district and there are Four (4) Large and Medium Industries Existing in the district, with an Investment of Rs.146.55 Crores and providing employment to (589) number of persons. In the district (191) units are existing with an Investment of Rs (229.8) Crores and providing employment to the (1145) number of persons directly.
Major Industries and products:- The Major industries are existing in Kamareddy Dist are Bulk Drugs (Chemical) industries,
Rice Milling industries, Solar Power Plants, Stone Cursing units etc
