Stage 3

You will be required to present the following documentation when you attend Stage 3:

- Qualification CertificatesOriginal full Statement of Results is required and must be presented on the day of your interview. Photocopies must also be brought with you. Please see the included page for illustrations of accepted versions of the Leaving Certificate and the type of documents which are not accepted. If your Leaving Certificate is in a form not accepted, please request an accepted version from www.examinations.ie

- Documentation proving Proof of Proficiency in 2 LanguagesProof of proficiency must be proven by presenting formal documentation on the day of your interview. For most candidates this can be done through the Irish Leaving Certificate. For others, FETAC level 5 award, GCSE grades A- C or Degree incorporating languages may suffice. Please note that:

there are no exemptions from this requirement for the Garda Trainee competitions. Candidates who do not have proven proficiency in a second language can avail of an Irish

Assessment after the Interview Stage. Further details of the assessment will be issued to relevant candidates at a later date.

- Birth CertificateThe original ‘Long’ version of your Birth Certificate is required. Photocopies must also be brought with you. If you are not in possession of the original, you will be required to obtain a new original and bring it with you on the day of the interview.

- IdentificationYou must bring proof of Identity with you to Stage 3. Only valid official identification will be accepted eg: Passport, Drivers Licence, Age Card etc.

- Form BThis form is sent to successful candidates in advance of the Interview. It is a form that An Garda Siochana use to perform security checks on your history as well as the history of your family. Candidates must complete this form fully, however they must sign it in the presence of a staff member from the Garda Appointments Office on the day of their interview.
