This past season w a very rctiv participation by members in the Sunday rnorn±n beach, surf and carcival cptitii.
Competiti .n in the Sunday ia:rriin events was verb strong
and this is b: rn out by the number of members who won the
various monthly events. The will to compote did net stop at the .dun -Iay morning .vonts but extended to Ilie carnivals. The name S ::,uth tTarraheor apreared in nearly every event and in many inotatricc:s uur iTlemOers left the carnivals with Gold, Silvor and irenzc aedals. Our heartiest congrTLtulabionc.
This past season saw the introduction of the Iron Mon vont (tno ±.apaer oLache vont zor tb net so strand:) Competition OSO1fl was very fierce in this event, run over three rounds, and congratulations go to those members who gained placings in the ovont. I rcoll one round where members were corn:oting in the event when along came the atro1 Efficiency Inspectr to perform his raid.

I recall ay Green and myself contesting the fine.l leg of th .vont, the dki leg, for a placing. I was slightly in front on the wave when the pressure got too hot for Gre.nie. Greunie proceeded to crash me off the and to add salt to the wound, inflict an injury to my right ear, via his paddle. Greenie insist.d it ao:m accident. Thu Junior oprinters prfor:iod coticnal1y well, with Tony Mu1hrin raining the Ciuhc first Gold Medal for rny sons. The Junior Boat Crew had their ups and downs, gaining quito a few placing. The Board and ki teams, with a bit mor coaching and conditioning, will go well in future seasons. To those competitors who oil not do so well competitively this sason, I'm sure you will agree with me that kcping the Club colours to the fore and a.. et in: 0 thr lifavoroat Jarnivols is very rew?rdinJir.

UTR11LN TITLES - Clifton Beach, Tasmania
This trip was a repeat of the K mosey - Crescent Head expedition, with c voryone. doing a little more than rccjuired, and from the seniors through to the youngest of Cadets, I am sure they all had on experience they will not forgot.
The beach end surf vonts at th. Carnival were strongly contested by cur members, each giving praise to uth Nrirrabcen. But again, no medals, perhaps next year will bcclifferent.
There are numerous people in Tasir.o nia that looked aft or the members and many names whom I have forgotten cc I will not try to remember them all but all of us will remember Kevin and Jenny Carney, John the iublican at barb and Jim Broenc and 'Red" Fury (cx member).
I will conclude by saying, thanks to the Tasmania Tourist Bureau and nsett irlincs for their assistance.
