And from the effects of sins and disobedience: It causes various types of corruption in the water, in the air, in plants, fruits, houses. Allah said in Surah Rum [30:41]:

"Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds, etc.), that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah, and begging His Pardon)."

Sins do not just affect the person himself, but the environment around him as well. Look at the opposite, in Surah Nuh [71:10-12]:

"I said (to them): 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving;"

"He will send rain to you in abundance;"

Page 3: ﻢﯿﺣﺮﻟا ﻦﻤﺣﺮﻟا ﷲ ﻢْﺴِﺑ · (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, ... during the Ghazwa of Tabuk, he

"And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers."

We commit sins; but when you do, ask Allah to forgive you. And Nuh ھیلع مالسلا said:

"What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur"

"While He has created you in (different) stages"

When you commit sins, magnification of Allah is missing in your heart. If you magnified Allah you would respect His rules and boundaries.

And in Surah Hud [11:3]:

"And (commanding you): "Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with good words). But if you turn away, then I fear for you the torment of a Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."

And in [11:52]:

""And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so do not turn away as Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah)."

- "because of what the hands of men have earned"

Many people blame the corruption in the world or the environment on nature. But it us that are causing disturbances in the land, with so many people persisting in committing sin. This is why it is important to enjoin good and forbid evil. Allah said in Surah Aal-Imran [3:110]:

Page 5: ﻢﯿﺣﺮﻟا ﻦﻤﺣﺮﻟا ﷲ ﻢْﺴِﺑ · (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, ... during the Ghazwa of Tabuk, he

"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah . If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient."

And in Surah Al-Asr [103:2-3]:

"Verily! Man is in loss"

"Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience."

If someone commits a sin in the house, it can affect the entire house. That is why we should ask Allah to not seize us for the actions of the foolish amongst us:

- "that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done"

This corruption on earth is only due to some of the evil we do, because Allah said in Surah Nahl [16:61]:

Page 6: ﻢﯿﺣﺮﻟا ﻦﻤﺣﺮﻟا ﷲ ﻢْﺴِﺑ · (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, ... during the Ghazwa of Tabuk, he

"And if Allah were to seize mankind for their wrong-doing, He would not leave on it (the earth) a single moving (living) creature, but He postpones them for an appointed term and when their term comes, neither can they delay nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment)."

- "in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah, and begging His Pardon)."

Sometimes Allah makes us taste the evil of what we did and we increase in rebelliousness. The purpose is for us to return back to Allah.

And from the effects of sins on earth: Sinkholes, Earthquakes, and the Destroyal of Blessings ( ةكرب ).When you find there is no ةكرب , it is because of sins.

And the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص passed through the dwellings of Thamud and forbade from entering their dwellings, except while crying, and from drinking their water, etc. because of the evil effect of sins in the water. Similarly, the evil of sins affect the shortage of fruits, and what is seen of losses.

Do not visit the remains of the nations which Allah punished because of their sins. People visit these places for tourism; taking pictures. The evil of their sins will affect those who go there. If you pass by, then cry, and if you cannot cry, then do not go.

Narrated Ibn `Umar: When Allah's Messenger ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص landed at Al-Hijr during the Ghazwa of Tabuk, he ordered his companions not to drink water from its well or reserve water from it. They said, "We have already kneaded the dough with its water. and also filled our bags

with its water.'' On that, the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص ordered them to throw away the dough and pour out the water." [Bukhari #3378]

When someone acts differently towards you, the car is not working, the animal is not listening, it is because of your sins. If you feel this pinch, make Istighfar and move on. Do not dwell on the details. And when you make Istighfar, Allah will elevate your ranks.

From the Punishments of Sins and Disobedience

And from the punishments of sins: It extinguishes the fire of Gheerah (protective jealousy) in the heart (towards the religion). Gheerah is for its life and goodness like heat for the life of the rest of the body.

If anyone personally attacked the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص he would not get angry, but if someone transgressed the limits of Allah, he would get angry.

Page 9: ﻢﯿﺣﺮﻟا ﻦﻤﺣﺮﻟا ﷲ ﻢْﺴِﺑ · (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, ... during the Ghazwa of Tabuk, he

Gheerah is the heat and fire which removes what is in the heart of filth and despicable characteristics, just as the bellows remove the filth from gold, silver, and iron.

We need Gheerah in our hearts, because it will remove the dirt in it. Take the Aziz in the Story of Yusuf, who saw the evidence of what happened, but all he did was say [in 12:29]:

"Joseph, ignore this. And, [my wife], ask forgiveness for your sin. Indeed, you were of the sinful."

There was no Gheerah in this action, and so much evil came out of it. Sins extinguish the fire of Gheerah in the heart.

And the most honourable of people and the highest of them in zealousness are those who have the most Gheerah over themselves, those close to them, and people in general.

Allah Created us and He Created us to worship Him; not that we associate partners with Him. He Created us to be for Him. Allah has Gheerah over the heart of the believer; for him to become attached to anyone else. Allah does not want you to attach your heart to anyone other than Him, to ask anyone other than Him, to be poor to anyone other than Him. When your heart feels poor to anyone else, you will be tested with it, and this is good for you.

Page 10: ﻢﯿﺣﺮﻟا ﻦﻤﺣﺮﻟا ﷲ ﻢْﺴِﺑ · (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, ... during the Ghazwa of Tabuk, he

And in the Saheeh: None has more Gheerah than Allah and it is because of this He has prohibited abominable acts-both visible and invisible. And there is none who is more anxious to accept the apologies of the people than Allah Himself and it is because of this that He has sent the Messengers, givers of glad tidings and warners. And nothing is loved by Allah more than the praise of His Ownself and it is because of this that He has praised Himself. [Muslim #2760]

You cannot find someone who has more Gheerah than Allah. This is Positive.
