For the competitions MARATHON, CLASSIC and SHORT DISTANCE any kind of walking sticks MUST NOT be used. Participants who fail to comply with this rule will be disqualified immediately. Only the participants of the STELVIO HIKE are allowed to make use of walkings sticks or the like.

Marciastelvio 26 km – categories:

The 10 athletes that come closest to the scheduled time of the organizer will be awarded.

Each participant will therefore get a chip for time-keeping.

Conditions of partecipation Marathon, Classic & Short Distance All Italian participants need to have a medical certificate that is still valid on the date of the race, 16 June 2018. The certificate has to be issued by a recognized sports physician and has to be sent together with the application form to the timekeeper company. ONLY after this, participants will be recorded in the starting list. Foreign Participants Foreign participants need a medical certificate issued by their family physician in case they want to participate in the categories Marathon, Classic or Short Distance. Alternatively, runners can participate in the “Just for fun” categories where no medical certificate is necessary. Those athletes without medical certificate will be listed in alphabetical order, however, they will be excluded from the award ceremony of each category. Apart from the award ceremony, all participants are entitled to use all services provided. Stelvio Hike The Stelvio Hike is not considered competitive, therefore no medical certificate is necessary.

Participation fee Both the prices and services for the three competitions Marathon, Classic and Hike will be the same. 70 € from 01.10.2017 to 31.12.2017 90 € from 01.01.2018 to 30.04.2018 110 € from 01.05.2018 to 08.06.2018 130 € at 15.06.2018 (late registration on site) The prices for the competition Short Distance are slightly different, however, the services are the same as for the other competitions. 35 € from 01.01.2018 to 30.04.2018 40 € from 01.05.2018 to 08.06.2018 50 € at 15.06.2018 (late registration on site) ATTENTION: Registrations will remain closed from Saturday 9 June 2018 until Thursday 14 June

Late registrations: Late registrations at a price of 130 € for the competitions Marathon, Classic and Hike and 50 € for the competition Short Distance will still be possible on Friday 15 June 2018 from 2 pm until 7pm at the sports center of Prato allo Stelvio. On Saturday 16 June 2018, the day of the race, late registrations WILL NOT be possible anymore! That day, participants can only pick up their bib numbers.

Time limits Marathon 8 h 30 min. – latest arriving time 4.30 pm.

Classic/Stelvio Hike 8 h 20 min. – latest arriving time 4.30 pm.

Short Distance 6 h 30 min. – latest arriving time 4.30 pm.

In case a participant fails to finish the race within the allowed time frame, the organizer

will exclude the participant from the race.

The bib numbers of participants who reach the controllers after their closure but still would

like to continue the race will be marked with a coloured felt pen.

All participants of the four different competitions will get the SAME starter package which contains the following:

Bib Numbers The bib numbers will be handed over during the bib number distribution, but only when all necessary starting documents will be presented. The different colours mark the respective competitions. Both the starting block and the starting time can be found on the bib number. All participants are OBLIGED to wear their bib numbers with the integrated time-keeping chip visibly. Participants ARE NOT ALLOWED to cover the sponsors´ logos.

Bib Number Distribution The bib number distribution will be handled as follows:

• Friday 15 June 2018 from 2 pm to 7 pm at the sports center in Prato allo Stelvio • Saturday 16 June 2018 from 6 am to 7 am at the visitor center of Prato allo Stelvio

“aquaprad” (starting area)

Cloths transport All participants will receive a bag for their belongings together with their bib number. The bag HAS TO be marked with the participant´s bib number in order to be refound afterwards. All luggage will be transported to the finish area of the race. The luggage can be dropped off at the following places at the following times: Marathon, Classic & Stelvio Hike: from 6 am to 8 am in Via Pineta, 400m away from the start area. Short Distance: from 9 am to 9.45 am near the start in Trafoi. After the above mentioned times, ANY luggage will be accepted anymore! Valuables can be handed in at the information stand before the start. All valuables will be transported to the finish area in a monitored container.

Return journey There will be a constant shuttle service from 1 pm onwards from the Stelvio Pass via the Umbrail Pass and Switzerland to Prato. Buses have to be changed once in Müstair. Bus stops: Müstair (change buses) – Tubre – Glorenza – Montechiaro – Agumes – Prato main-square – Middle School in Prato (500m away from the Pasta Party/award ceremony)

Bus stops: Franzenshöhe – Trafoi – Gomagoi – Prato main-square – Middle School in Prato (500m away from the Pasta Party/award ceremony) ATTENTION: There might be a large crowd at the return journey which may lead to short delays and waiting times. For those athletes who spend the night at the Stelvio Pass, there will be a shuttle from the pass to the start in Prato. Departure time 6.15 am at the bus stop near the cable car station. Ticket price 10 € – reservation until 3 o´clock on 14.06.2018 –> [email protected] Important information for visitors: The dayticket for visitors costs 10 € and must be booked until the 15 June 2018 at 3 pm the latest. Prize Money The ten best athletes in the overall marathon ranking (male and female) get prize money,

whereby the ranking follows the finish.

Pasta-Party

Each bib number can be exchanged for a Pasta Party voucher. The party will take place at the

festival area of the sports center in Prato.

OPENING HOURS: Saturday 16 June 2018 from noon until 11 pm

Results Service The list of results will be hung up in the finish area and in the sports center in Prato. The

results can also be retrieved online from the following link www.stelviomarathon.it.

Participation Certificate Each participant can print out their participation certificate from the list of results.

Text Messaging Service Participants who entered their phone number during the registration process will receive

three free text messages with different information concerning the race such as bib number

distribution, result etc.

Emergency Service Emergency doctors, volunteers from the White Cross of Prato and surrounding, mountain

rescue teams from Prato, Trafoi and Malles, officials of the “Guardia di Finanza”, as well as

fire brigades from several towns will ensure participants´ safety throughout the whole event.

Security Service Fire brigades and several track marshals will undertake the security service. Instructions

given by the track staff MUST be followed at any time!

Showers Showers, sanitary facilities and parking spaces for participants are available and clearly

signposted at the top of the pass. All participants have the possibility to use the showers at

the Hotel “Folgore” or the Hotel “Pirovano” when presenting their bib number.

Additionally, participants will get a free drink (tea or water) at the hotel.

CHRONOMETRY/TIME-KEEPING The time-keeping will be executed by the company “TDS-Timing”. The necessary chip is at the inside of each bib number. ATTENTION: personal chips are NOT allowed! The integrated chip chronometers the real-time of the race namely from the crossing of the start line until the participant has crossed the finish line. IMPORTANT: bib numbers MUST NOT be folded and have to be placed visibly on the front side of the body.

Default/abandoning

In case of default of run through a runner or in case of abandoning of the competition

through the jury (fog, sudden drop of temperature, wind) each participant is obligated to

communicate it as soon as possible at the next checkpoint and to follow strictly the

instruction of the linesman.

Equipment The Stelvio Marathon leads the participants through a high alpine area. There might be considerable differences in temperature between the start and the finish of the competition. Warm clothing, weatherproof cape and adequate footgear are highly recommended. There is NO OBLIGATORY equipment!

Disqualification The Jury is in charge of race disqualifications. Protests have to be in writing and have to be handed in to the chief of the competition 30 minutes after the finish the latest (50 € deposit). Unsporting behaviour such as taking shortcuts, violating rules, doping or the like will result in immediate disqualification of the participant. Runners who fail to reach the controllers before their closure will be excluded from the final classification and will not be able to make use of the race´s services such as the catering anymore. The bib numbers of participants who reach the controller after their closure but still would like to continue the race will be marked with a coloured felt pen.

Termination of the Race In case the race has to be finished ahead due to safety reasons or the like a refund of the

participation fee cannot be claimed. Moreover, the participation fee will not be credited for

the following year. The Jury decides whether the race is conducted or not and whether it will

be stopped or not.

Liability

Through the registration the participant declares the following: In case of my participation at the Stelvio Marathon I recognize the exclusion of liability of organizer for all kinds of damages. I won’t claim the organizer nor sponsors of the competition, neither near communities, nor the owner of private paths or their representatives, about any damages and injuries that could be caused through my participation at the event. I declare that I have trained enough for the participation on this competition and that I am physical healthy. I have a personal liability cover. I agree that my personal information given at registration, that the pictures, videos and radio interview, Tv, advertisements or books produced by myself, can be used without any entitlement of refund by my side. I ensure that my birth year is correct and that my start number won’t be given to another person. I am aware of the fact that I can be disqualified if I change some way the start number, specially if I hide or make unrecognizable the advertisement print or if I am accompanied by another person on bike or similar. In case of cancellation of the Stelvio Marathon because of force majeure (high water, storm ) the entry fee won’t be refunded.

Declaration of liability Through their registration for the Stelvio Marathon, the participant declares that they agree

with the regulations published on the website of the Stelvio Marathon

www.stelviomarathon.it. Furthermore, the participant declares explicitly to tell the truth

(art. 2 legge 04/01/1968 n° 15 come modificato dall’art. 3 comma 10 legge 15/05/1997 n°

127) and to relieve the organizer from any civil and/or criminal liability in case of personal

injury and loss or damage of property.

Right RESERVATION OF THE RIGHT ON CHANGING OF REGULATION The organizer of the Stelvio Marathon reserves the right to change the underlying regulations at any time in order to

improve the conditions of the race. The participants will be informed about any potential changes concerning the competition via the homepage www.stelviomarathon.it PHOTO RIGHTS With their registration for the Stelvio Marathon, participants authorize the organizer explicitly to use their photos and videos for free that have been taken in the course of the race! This authorization shall be without time and place limit for the sake of promotional efforts of all kinds. Furthermore, the organizer is entitled to transfer these rights to third parties including both institutional and business partners.

Protection of privacy

With their registration for the Stelvio Marathon, participants agree that their addresses will be shared with sponsors, service providers such as photo service or time-keeping and with any kind of third-party service provider. If participants do NOT want their data to be shared, they have to inform the administration in writing. Partecipants authorize the organizer to use photo and video material taken during the race for the sake of promotional efforts of all kinds.

Jury The Jury consists of a representative of the organising committee, an official of the Italian

sports association UISP and a representative of the chronometry.

Nature Protection Throwing away of rubbish outside the marked service area is forbidden! Leaving the course is not permitted either due to nature protection reasons. Failure to comply with the above-mentioned rules leads to disqualification. The course of the Stelvio Marathon leads the runners mostly through parts of the Stelvio National Park. The Stelvio Marathon is a listed “going green event” and the organizer is therefore concerned about both nature and climate protection. The organizer will take preventative actions such as the provision of waste bins in order to help the participants adhere to the rules and protect the nature.
