What is Google’s Core Web Vital

Core Web Vitals are measures that are used to assess how a web page performs when viewed on a mobile device. The data are gathered by Chrome users who have opted in to provide it and are then compiled into the Chrome User Experience (CrUX) Report. Page experience update incorporates a bunch of signals; those signals include what google calls the core web vitals as well as other signals. The core vitals are around singles called LCP (Largest Contentful Paint), FID (First Input Delay) & CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift).

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)

The largest-contentful-paint (LCP) indicates how much time in milliseconds has elapsed until the largest contentful (DOM) element is shown on the visible part of the web page. The LCP is a smart way to measure the speed of a web page. The lower the LCP, the faster a page appears to load for a visitor.

First Input Delay (FID)

FID is the measurement of the time it takes for a browser to respond to a site visitor's first interaction with the site while the site is loading. The goal for FID is to measure how responsive a site is while it's loading.

Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)

A Core Web Vitals metric, measures the instability of content by summing shift scores across layout shifts that don't occur within 500 ms of user input. It looks at how much visible content shifted in the viewport as well as the distance the elements impact was shifted.
