Below is the Guidance From the

Teacher of Tareeqah

Muhammadiyah, Shaykh Ahmad

Dabbagh. . Specifically for the

Months of Muharram and Safar..

السالم عليكم و رحمة هللا و بركاته

"As we have migrated from Muharram to Safar we should understand and ponder on the message from each event and how they link into each other. For the biggest event in the mind for Muharram is the incident of Karbala and Safar is the Hijrah of the Prophet صلى هللا

.عليه واله وسلم

There is no powerful example to people than of Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him) and all those who participated in Karbala in support of Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him), for they are of the direct family of the Prophet صلى هللا عليه واله وسلم.

without doubt and they made a stand for the truth without a complaint to Allah عزوجل مجده

The beloved grandson of the Prophet صلى هللا عليه واله

Imam Hussain (May Allah وسلمbe pleased with him) answered the call for the message, full well knowing the consequences and choosing to sacrifice and give all he has in this world for the next.

Those of you who claim a claim to be of the Ahlul’Bayt, know this is your example and don't make capital from this claim to benefit you in the world, but to give it all up (Dunya) for the sake of Allah عزوجل مجده and the blood line you have claim to is only worthy of mention when one is in the example of Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him).

For that is the example left behind, to what is expected of being privileged to be apart of the family of the Prophet صلى

هللا عليه واله وسلم

So sacrifice like Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him) and Travel to the call for yourself and for Guidance of others like the Prophet صلى

Hijrah from هللا عليه واله وسلمMecca to Medina and like Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him) did from Mecca to Karbala.

For those who

make sacrifices for Allah عزوجل

and strives in the way of مجده

Allah عزوجل مجده to help and

guide others, they will be

classed as from the family of

the Prophet صلى هللا عليه واله وسلم

He صلى هللا عليه واله وسلم will

testify to that, in this world and

in the next, regardless if they

have or have not a direct blood

link.. For they will be crowned

on the Day judgment as of

the Ahlul ‘Bayt . - Shaykh

Ahmad Dabbagh

The Status of Jerusalem

Masjid Al- Aqsa is the first house of

Allah, towards which the Muslims

prayed their Salaah. A reason as to

why many thought it is one of the

Holy Lands. However we learn

from Hadeeth to the nearest

meaning, The Prophet (Peace be

upon him) said to Zaid ibn Thabit

“How Blessed is Shaam” (Shaam,

referring to Jerusalem and

Neighbouring Countries). The

Sahabahs asked “why?” They

didn’t understand why Shaam was

a blessed land, they wondered

how was it a blessed land, when

Makkah al Mukaramah had the

Ka’bah and Madina tul Munwara

had the Prophet (Peace be upon

So how was it Shaam was a blessed

place. To this the Prophet (Peace be

upon him) replied “I see the angels

of Allah spreading their wings all

over Shaam.” Ibn Abbas (May Allah

be pleased with him) added “And

the Prophets lived therein, and

there isn’t a single inch in Al-Quds

(Jerusalem) where a Prophet has

not prayed or an angel has not

stood.” So the Prophet (Peace be

upon him) said, “This is why I have

said it is a blessed place.” Is there

now any room to wonder why Allah

would choose this holy land, for the

Ascension of the Prophet

Muhammad (peace be upon him)

towards the Heavens and Beyond.

Or to question why it is a Holy Land.

Special Teachings from Sayidena

Abdul Azeez Ad-Dabbagh

It has been said by the Mashaykh from the Prophet

Muhammad (Peace be upon him), that Allah has

safeguarded the Ka’bah and also has preserved

Madina Sharif. No matter what condition the

Ummah are in, no matter how weak the Ummah

are in faith and unity, Allah will always have direct

control and protection over these two holy places,

they will never fall into the hands of the non-

Muslim. No one will ever be able to possess them,

because Allah will not allow that to happen. Allah is

an extraordinary being, so it is only natural for His

ways to protect them be extraordinary.

So one may now think, if the Holy Ka’bah and

Madina Sharif are in the protection and

responsibility of Allah, Why is not Masjid Al-Aqsa?

Isn’t that a holy and blessed place also? The answer

the Mashaykh said is because Masjid Al -Aqsa is the

indicator of the state of the Ummah, and indicator

of the Ummah’s Heart as a unity. Masjid Al-Aqsa is

a performance indicator. It reflects the state of the

Ummah at that time. And why it is a performance

indicator for the Ummah, because every soul

played an indirect role in building and making the

Masjid. Every soul came from the back of our

Father Adam (as), who had helped build Masjid

Al-Aqsa. Hence why we have a connection and link

to the 3rd holiest land of Islam. This connection with

Al-Aqsa shows the state of the Ummah, the trouble

and turmoil of the collective faith of the Ummah is in.

Lessons to be learnt

Every sacred and holy land has a lesson to be

learnt from it. Masjid Al-Aqsa was the direction

of Salah and the first direction people faced.

This represents our hearts, Allah has directed

us to focus upon our hearts first and to purify it

from the state it is in. Al-Aqsa is our heart, and

our heart needs to connect with Allah.

So how will it connect to Allah? We learn from

the Seerah of the Prophet (Peace be upon

them) they were commanded by Allah to

change the direction of Salah, to face the

Ka’bah. This now represents and shows that we

need to abide by Allahs commands, and we

now need to face Him. The Qiblah of our hearts

is Allah, so our hearts should incline towards

Allah, turn towards Allah.

Then lastly the beloved of Allah Prophet Mu-

hammad (Peace be upon them), who is the

closest to Allah and the Ka’bah. The Holy

Prophet (Peace be upon them) represents the

direction towards Allah, a compass to bringing

one closer to Allah, and helping one attach

themselves to Allah. The Prophet (Peace be

upon them) said to the nearest meaning follow

me like a compass and you will reach Allah.

Once we detach ourselves from the compass of

dunya, wealth, fame and name, then can one

can truly benefit from the divine compass of

the Prophet Muhammad (saw).

Every Month has a special meaning behind it, which makes

every Month have its own special status. Dhul- Hijjah and

Muharrum are both months that are filled with sacrifices,

made by Prophets, Sahaba and the Pious. These stories are

not made for entertainment but rather they are told to us so

that we may take benefit from them by deriving lessons and

teachings from them.

Allah Most High says in the Divine Revelation:

And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to

life and brought forth from it grain, and from it, they eat.

(Surah Yaseen, Ayah 33)

In Tafseer of this ayah, Allah is saying that if someone wants

too really take lesson, he or she can take it from the dead

earth. The Previous Nations and Stories are like the dead

earth, so if you set your thoughts and mind into it, the pious

plants and fruits that will grow from it, are the fruits which

you can eat from, and that will benefit you immensely.

When we hear the story of Karbala, or the Story of Hazrat

Ibrahim and his son Ismaeel (Upon them be peace and

blessings). Yes we know these stories are good to hear and

very beneficial, but one should sew into them thoughts of

what lessons we can derive from it. Then InshaAllah from

there will grow Plants and fruits of goodness and piety.

Although people have made sacrifices and given charity during the blessed month

of Dhul-Hijjah they have not understood its actual meaning, they have not truly

understood the spiritual link that it has.

Allah asked Hazrat Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) to look for the most precious and

important thing to him and sacrifice it, He chose his son Hazrat Ismaeel (Peace be

upon him). In our case, Allah has also asked us to sacrifice in the month of

Dhul-Hijjah, what do we do? We try to find the smallest and cheapest animals to

give in the way of Allah, clearly showing what our Lord means to us. We have

enough money to buy items for ourselves, we spend ridiculous amount of money

upon ourselves, for example £100 for one pair of shoes, £500 on the latest mobile

phone, however when it comes to Islam, we think twice and become stingy

because we do not want to give money or anything in the way of Allah.

Only if we knew that, on the Day of Judgment these same animals will help us to

get across the Pul-Siraat (The Bridge over hell). The ram, buffalo, goats have not

harmed us in any way, but we slaughter them for being grateful and appreciating

Allah’s blessings. Yet we have not sacrificed the most dangerous giant animal that

lives within us. That is the Nafs (desires) which is really harming and destroying

us.

On the other hand there are some of us, who want the biggest and the best animal

to sacrifice, because we have the wealth to do so. How can we want to sacrifice

the biggest and best animal out there in Allahs name, when many of us have not

captured our own animal (Nafs)? We have set it free on the fd how do we sacrifice

it, it is by leaving the desires and killing them off. ace of the Dunya, indulging in

haraam and like a wild dog causing harm. So if we want to give the best Qurbani of

the biggest animal, and receive the blessings and reward in doing so, we should

first of all capture our own beast the nafs, by tying it down and taking control over

it. Then sacrificing it, and how do we sacrifice it, it is by leaving the desires and

killing them off.

Muharram is the blessed month of Allah, and in this month many

events taken place. Including the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his

blessed family. We know the story of how and why the incidents of

Karbala taken place. But the lesson that can be taken from it, which is

more beneficial to is the Importance of Amr Bil Maroof (Enjoining

Good) and Nahi Anil Munkar (Forbidding Evil). Imam Hussain (May

Allah be pleased with him) knew that Yazid was a Sinful Leader and

that someone had to put a stop to his evil ways, and Imam Hussain

knew that, this someone was them! It teaches us not to waiver from

the right path, and not to panic while discharging obligations. One has

to have firm conviction on the hereafter & focus one’s mind on

permanent consequences in the hereafter. It is also told by Imam

Zain ul Abideen (May Allah be Pleased with him) that the Ummah

should: avoid Music, the men should not shave their beard, and they

should not indulge in alcohol, as these were the traits of Yazid and

his followers, and when such evil things are practiced it reminds him

of the day he was standing in yazids court, after his whole family

were martyred. Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him) did not

go through all the trials and tribulations, so that one day the people of

the Ummah of his blessed Grandfather (Peace be Upon Them), could

sit around and listen to the story of karbala for 10 days and shed

some tears, however so that we may take heed and lessons from the

incident, so we don’t fall into the yazidi trap!

The lessons of Muharrum also play a big role for women.

Imam Hussain (May Allah be pleased with him) left for Kufa

and taken the women of his family with him also. This shows

that women also play a big role in the work of Deen, that

they are also first in line next to the men when it comes to

Da’wahTableegh. The woman were also present for the

support of the men, without the support of the women, the

battle would have not gone far. Hazrat Zainab was like a

Pillar for her household, she kept control even after the Men

of the family passed away. These were the Muhammadiyah

Women. They kept control in Wretched Palaces of Yazid and

Wretched Palaces of Ibn Ziyad. She spoke words of

Wisdom and Hikmah, that brought Yazid to his Knees. It’s

our choice, we either choose to be the Women of

Muhammadiyah or the Women of Kufa.

SYEDUNA IMAM HUSSAIN رضي هللا تعالى عنه

ISHALE THAWAAB UPON HIS GRANFATHER AND

FATHER..

Islam is a very beautiful religion, its teachings, ways and methods naturally will

also be beautiful. One of the teachings of Islam is how to honour and respect

our deceased loved ones. We all have someone dear and close to us that has

passed from this dunya, parent/s, grandparent/s or even friend/s. There are

many ways we remember them, honour them and send reward upon them.

It may be in the form a Zikr Mehfil, Quraan

Recitation, Sadaqa upon their behalf, or a

gathering of their nearest and dearest and a

meal given to them in their name.. That is

all well and good and may Allah accept our

efforts and send the reward and honour to

our loved ones InshaAllah. However this will

only happen if we learn the beautiful

religion of Islam and attach ourselves to

Allahs Deen and act upon the message of

the Prophet صلي هللا عليه وسلمBut if we do not

have any attachment to Allah or his Prophet

and we only meet or think ofصلي هللا عليه وسلم

our parents during Mothers or Fathers Day

(A Western custom and tradition) then what

hope is there, that we will be sending

beautiful gifts of Isaale Thawaab to our

parents or grandparents. Or if we do not

teach our youngsters the teachings, ways

and methods of our beautiful Deen, then

what hope is there that they will send us

Isaale Thawaab when we have passed,

because we only taught them the western

traditions.

It is the month of Muharram, the month in

which one of the greatest sacrifices of Islam

had taken place. The martyrdom of Syedena

Imam Hussain and their Isaale Thwaab to

their Grandfather Muhammad (saw) and

Father Ali Ibn Talib رضي هللا تعالى عنه

There is no doubt that the ways and

methods of the Prince of the Heavens would

be extraordinary. However through their

last will we learn how extraordinary. To the

nearest meaning Syedena Imam Hussain

said, I do not stand up رضي هللا تعالى عنه

against yazid for my own self likeliness or to

spread mischief amongst the Ummah (as

yazid had).

However for the betterment of the Ummah, and to

admonish the evil that has been spread because of

his evil ways and practices. Just as my Grandfather

and Father had stood up against evil and oppressing

ways before me. We think we are doing a very big

deed and favour upon our loved ones that have

passed, by sacrificing a little part of our wealth in

their name. But we could never match the Isaale

Thawaab Syedena Imam Hussain رضي هللا تعالى عنه

gave for their Grandfather or Father. Not only did

they sacrifice their very little essential worldly

materials that they possessed. They sacrificed their

own life and the life’s of the members of their

family, in the name of the religion of their beloved

Grandfather and Father.

Not because they had any personal motives or

gains! Because they knew if they didn’t stand up

against yazid and his evil ways now, then no one will

and the Deen of Allah and the message of their

Grandfather would not reach us today and carry on

till the end of times. For their Grandfather, Father

and for Islam they sacrificed their life and the life’s

of their loved ones. However before they departed

from this dunya, they shouted in the plains of

karbala, is anywhere there? Is anyone there to help

me? Not because they needed help for their life or

because their life was at risk? But because the

religion of their beloved Grandfather was at risk?

They shouted to us, to me and you so we do not

succumb and surrender to the evil and yazidi

ways. So that no matter what obstacles come our

way, we tackle and overcome them, and do our part

in spreading the message that Syedena Imam

Hussain sacrificed his life for. We made a promise to

Allah in the spirit world, that we would obey and

worship Allah only and we would not follow or

accept the shaitanee ways of life. Syedena Imam

Hussaian fulfilled his promise to his رضي هللا تعالى عنه

last breath, are we fulfilling it?

HAZRAT UMAR (MAY ALLAH BE PLEASED WITH HIM) In the sacred month of Al-Muharram, much is heard about one of the great martyrs of Islam, Hussain ibn Ali (May Allah be pleased with him). Without doubt his martyrdom has a great significance in Islam, however a mere few days before the tenth of Al-Muharram, the martyrdom of another of Islam's great leaders had taken place. This was of course the martyrdom of the second in rank, the leader of believers, Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him). Hazrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) had an outstanding and unique personality, he was a man for the Ummah. The truth flowed naturally on his tongue without him intending or trying to, as he was a man who recognised truth, who spoke truth and who acted upon truth. He had a very strong sense of justice (Al adl). His devotion to Islam and his love for Allah was so great, that before the Muslims made Hijrah ( migration ) from Makkah to Madina, all the other Muslims but Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) were hiding their Islam, performing it in secret for fear of oppression, Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) was ready to proclaim his Islam, he was ready to tell everyone about this great mercy which Allah had bestowed upon him. Such was the love Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) had for Allah. He was also a man with high level humbleness and piety. He indeed possessed all the virtues that a ruler or a leader of men should possess. It is mentioned in Hadith in Tirmidhi that Rasool Allah (Peace Be Upon Them) said: "If there was going to be a prophet after me it would have been Umar." Such was the qualities and characteristics which Umar (May Allah Be Pleased With Him) held.

It is narrated that, before Umar (May Allah be Pleased with him) accepted Islam, he was on his way to (na a'uz billah) murder the Prophet (Peace be Upon them), until he met someone along his way, who told him to set his own house in order first, as his sister and her husband had converted to Islam. Upon arriving at her house, Umar (May Allah be Pleased with him) found his sister and brother-in-law reciting the verses of the Qur'an. He started to beat his brother-in-law, and when his sister came in the way of her husband, he struck her and she started to bleed. Seeing that he had hurt his sister, he calmed down and asked her to give him what she was reciting. She gave him the paper on which the ayahs were written on from Surah Ta-Ha. He was so shocked by the ayahs, that he straight to the Prophet Muhammad [Peace be Upon them] with the same sword he intended to use to kill them, however instead of harming the Prophet (Peace be Upon Them) he accepted Islam. From this key incident which occurred in Hazrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) life we learn many lessons, We learn that Allah is the changer of hearts, from how Hazrat Umar (May Allah be Pleased with him) first started with the intention of wanting to kill the Prophet (Peace be Upon Them), however later turned into the intention of wanting to accept Islam, something he would never have thought prior to this incident but merely because Allah opened his heart and placed the love of Allah and the His Prophet (Peace be Upon Them) into his heart. We also learn that it's never too late to change no matter how major our sins are as Allah is the All Merciful, and rather it is shaitaan who makes us think that there is no point in changing our ways, or he makes us think that we will change tomorrow or when we are older etc... But we shouldn't take heed to such whispers, just like Hazrat Umar immediately went to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Them) to accept Islam, and to be guided on the true path. Similarly we should do the same, we should not delay in changing. The want to change is from Allah who opens our hearts and places the thirst into our hearts. When Allah wishes good upon someone, He surely guides them and opens for them the path of truth. However it is up to ourselves to make that change take place, Allah has opened our hearts and eyes to the truth, it is now upon ourselves to walk towards the truth and act upon it. Furthermore we also learn about the principle of forgiveness, that we should do sincere repentance and have hope that Allah accepts it. Just like Hazrat Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) who sincerely repented and felt remorseful, and through his repentance his love grew for Allah, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon him) and Islam. From the example of Hazrat Umar (May Allah be Pleased with him) we learn that if we want to earn the love of Allah, and attain his pleasure, we should start off by first performing sincere repentance, as that is the initial step of unlocking the doors to the treasures of this world and the next.

FROM SAYYIDUNA UMAR BIN KHATTAB (May

Allah be Pleased with him)...

Be kind and fair to the people. Do not deceive them

in Wealth, Trust and Knowledge.

Do not take their riches, their money, their treasures

and wealth.

Do not break promises, mislead them or overpower

them with your status / position of authority.

Be truthful with your words and guide them with the

wisdom of the Sunnah of the beloved.

Speak and act upon the knowledge you possess

and become the beacon of Sunnah.

Be the strength to the weak amongst the people.

Be the one who has no fear against shaytaan but be

the one who is feared by shaytaan.

Be the strength to the weak amongst the people.

Be the one who has no fear against shaytaan but be

the one who is feared by shaytaan.

Be the most approachable one for the people in

need, with gentleness of heart and body. But be the

unbreakable one against shaytaan, with action of

strict compliance of the beloved Sunnah.

My life has always been to become the shadow of

the Holy Prophet [Peace be Upon them]

True strength is not the apparent physical body but

the real strength is the strength within. It is the weight

and value of the Heart. Purity with sincere

remembrance of Allah and the strict following of

the Sunnah, are like weights of strength which the

heart possesses. It has the power / carrier of entire

galaxies of deep remembrance of Allah.

This strength cannot be captured or weighted. So

train your body to possess this strength, not just the

physical body of muscle, but the strength of the

heart and soul. Never cut your remembrance with

Allah but cut all that takes you away from Allah’s

closeness.

Welcome to Ad-Dabbagh Trust

Charity

Ad-Dabbagh Welfare Trust is a charity set

up by the current Teacher and Master of

Tareeqah Muhammadiyah Shaykh Ahmad

Dabbagh, built solely on the foundations of

having compassion upon creation and

helping the neediest people in the world.

In its short time of being set up,

Ad-Dabbagh welfare trust have had the

chance and opportunity to carry out many

projects in various countries.

Having compassion upon creation Is one of

the objectives of traveling the journey to

our ultimate aim of pleasuring our lord and

creator Allah. This journey towards Allahs

Pleasure is taught at Tareeqah

Muhammadiyah, so it was only natural for

the ad Dabbagh trust to be opened as a

charity wing of Tareeqah Muhammadiyah.

As humans, we all have certain rights over

each other, one of them includes giving to

the poor and needy. Many non-Muslims

and atheists have an argument for not

believing in God, they say if there is a god

then why is there so much poverty and

needy people in the world.

There are many answers and reasons one

can give back, however in relation to giving

charity, the answer simply is Allah has not

left out anyone in their provision.

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be

Upon Him) said: "Give charity with-

out delay, for it stands in the way

of calamity." - Al-Tirmidhi

In the Quraan Allah says in Surah

At-Talaq “And for those who fear Allah,

he prepares a way out, and He

provides for him from (sources) he

never could imagine. And if any one

puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is

(Allah) for him. For Allah will surely

accomplish his purpose verily for all

things has Allah appointed a due

proportion.” [Verse: 2-3]

From this ayah alone we learn that Allah

has provision for everyone, not only that

but from this ayah we learn that it is

through various sources, even sources

we could never imagine. That is where

we come into it.

One of the etiquettes of giving charity, is

to not let ones pride over take the

intention and good deed, to be humble

and sincere when giving, so much so that

to the nearest meaning the prophet

(Peace Be Upon Him) said on the Day of

Judgment, when they will be no shade

apart from the shade of Allahs throne, on

that day there will be 7 types of people

who will be shaded by Allah,

And one of them the Prophet (Peace Be

Upon Them) said is 'A man who gives in

charity and hides it, such that his left

hand does not know what his right hand

gives in charity'. We learn from this

Hadeeth not only the importance of giving

charity, however how essential it is to give it

with the right intention.

Within our wealth and rizq the poor and

needy have a rightful share. That share is in

the form of zakaat or sadaqa. We are the

means or as it says in the Quran we are the

sources, from which they can attain their

rizq. It is our duty and responsibility to

make sure that the needy people in the

world are receiving what is rightfully theirs.

And if we are not fulfilling their rights, and

having compassion upon them, not only will

we not attain one of our objectives in

attaining Allahs pleasure, however on the

Day of Reckoning we will be questioned

regarding this matter.

We might think how is it rightfully theirs? We

earned all of this from our own hard work

and effort! But our thinking is wrong! What-

ever we have is all solely from Allah, the job

we have from 9-5 in the office, was just a

means for us to attain this rizq from Allah.

So likewise we are the means for the poor

and needy.

Allah says in the Quraan in Surah Al

Munafiqun “And spend [in the way of Allah]

from what We have provided you before

death approaches one of you and he says,

"My Lord, if only You would delay me for a

brief term so I would give charity and be

among the righteous." [Verse 10] It clearly

states in the Quraan how one will be

regretful in the akhirah for not giving charity.

They will ask their lord to send them back to

the dunya, so they could have one more

chance to give to charity. But we all know that

will not be the case, no second chances.

Why Ad-Dabbagh Trust?

One may ask what's so different about this

charity trust than all the others? Simple

Ad-Dabbagh trust is:

-Only charity which allows you to choose

where the funds go

-No administration costs

-Ran by volunteers only

-The funds actually go to the needy

Qurbani Project

As the month of Dhul’Hijjah has passed us,

like any other charity this month was a very

busy month for Ad-Dabbagh welfare trust

with the Qurbani Project. Alhamdulliah last

year Ad-Dabbagh welfare trust were able to

give Qurbani to four different needy

countries. MashaAllah this year it had the

opportunity to give Qurbani to 7 different

countries. This couldn’t be done without your

generous help and support.

We delivered

Qurbani meat in

towns, cities, as

well as remote

and rural areas,

where

communities

hardly ever

receive support. It may have cost us a little

more, but we hope you’ll agree that it’s the

poorest people who need our help most. We

try to help the most vulnerable people first –

women, children, the elderly, and refugees of

war and disaster are always our priority.

Mission Youth are back! Bigger and better than ever! And even more motivated in

creating the love of ALLAH and his MESSENGER whilst having some serious FUN!

InshaAllah

SPIRITUAL RETREAT

Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah and the help and guidance from our Teacher

Shaykh Ahmad Dabbagh, TM Youth were successfully able to hold another of

numerous spiritual retreats, in Bolton At Old Madina Masjid..

As mentioned in the previous tm youth article, one of our aims is to get the youth off

the streets and to build the thirst and love of Allah in to their lives. The retreat’s aim

was an opportunity to engage, empower and bring young people closer to the

pleasure of Allah

True to its aim, Mission Youth were able to hold a 3day weekend spiritual retreat for

the youth age 14plus. The spiritual retreat was blessed with the company of the

pious and righteous. Shaykh Ahmad Dabbagh, Imam Khalid Hussain, DR Mufti

Qayum Subhani and Shaykh Esa Henderson.. With the Spirituality factor tick marked,

there was also no shortage of fun and games.. Fifa15 tournament, Pool, Air Hockey,

Carron board and the chance to win a ticket to Morocco, mission youth merchandise

and classical Islamic books.

The Retreat was a mixture of fun and learning but importantly bringing a group of

young people together to develop new friendships, spend time in the company of the

pious and the learned, however most importantly time to self-reflect on their

relationship with their lord and Creator. The young people enjoyed the balance

between being able to play games, and the opportunity to learn about their faith.

The Retreat showed these young people also the benefits of discipline, patience and

importantly sacrificing ones time for the pleasure of Allah.

TESTIMONIALS

My favourite part of the retreat was listening to the different speakers, and taking part in the Durood and Salaam Majlis, where I felt the most spiritual connection.” - Jabbar Ishaq “Was really good spending time with my brothers, I really enjoyed the whole experience. It was truly a once in a life time experience, and I'm grateful that I was able to take part in it. I really enjoyed taking part in the Durood Majalis.” - Osman Aslam

With the presence of the Scholars at the retreat, these prominent personalities

presented the youth with thought provoking and insightful talks, that were aimed to

awaken our hearts and minds from the illusions of the world, that we all live in.

Also at the same time, to remind us of our relationship and obligation to our Lord

Creator and the message delivered by the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)

MashaAllah :)

Asaalamualaykum from Jaamiah

Muhammadiyah. In this issue of Tareeqah

Muhammadiyah Newsletter, we would like

to update you on the latest news of what

the students of Jaamiah Muhammadiyah

are up to..

One of the core and greatly stressed upon

subjects of this Jaamiah happens to be

Tazkiyah and Dawaah . We all the know

the importance of Tazkiyah, purifying and

beautifying our inner and outer self.

However the Dawaah aspect of it, is just

as important, as it was and is one of the

greatest Sunnahs of the Prophet

Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Them).

And it just so happens to be that one of

the best ways to give Dawaah, is through

the form of inviting others and hosting a

meal with great hospitality. This was also a

Sunnah of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon

Them) So it is vital for our sisters and

daughters of Jaamiah Muhammadiyah to

be able to do this.

Not only do we expect our students to be

the best at everything in the Jaamiah,

however their best in their homes. It is

often the case, when someone begins

higher level studying or studying of the

Deen, all else is pushed on to the side and

ones time and concentration is spent upon

their studies . So many of times it has

been the case that students of Deen, have

gone so far into their studies, that when it

comes to basic daily home life, they do not

even know how to cook or run a house. As

Daughters and Sisters of Islam, it is a

great duty and honour that one is able to

do such simple tasks , as they will be the

home makers, mothers and wives of the

future.

Over here at Jaamiah Muhammadiyah

under the guidance of our Principal and

Teacher Shaykh Ahmad Dabbagh a new

class was introduced into the syllabus and

that was the cooking class., as this would

be of great benefit to the students.

Not only would the Sunnah of the Prophet

(Peace Be Upon Him) be fulfilled, to invite

others in to their homes, cook a meal for

them, show them great respect and

hospitality and to pass the beautiful

message of our Holy Prophet (Peace Be

Upon Them) . However the students

would also get a taster of the real life, they

would gain understanding on how much

day in day out their mothers are doing for

them, and not only are the studies of the

Jaamiah important, however to help in

their homes is just as important.

So once a week at the Jaamiah (Oldham)

students have had the chance to put their

culinary skills to practice. A group of 4-5

students are given the task of making dif-

ferent dishes, a starter, a main and a

dessert, and at the end of the lesson the

class teacher and fellow students get to

the dishes and give the students marks according to taste and presentation. The

students are not only learning how to cook traditional Indian or Pakistani dishes,

however other cultural foods such as pasta, pizza and stir fry. Above are a few

pictures of the many dishes cooked and presented by the students.

Not only is it a great Sunnah to invite others to the home and show hospitality, it

is also a Sunnah to gift our family and friends with gifts. The students were also

taught how to make simple and elegant gifts at home, below are examples of

some of the gifts.
