I can describe myself in two words. Addicted to chalk and chocolate.

To avoid getting bored, I keep discovering new dimensions and

experience a wide variety of feelings that life constantly has to offer.

I am in love with the plastic climbing holds :)) The artificial

climbing wall was the reason I started climbing in the fist place.

For the time being, my life is all about moves and holds. I am

dreaming about different remote places and problems I would

like to climb.

Aljosa Grom (16.02.1973) started carving climbing holds in 1992 in a small garage in Stara Vrhnika. His

passion and dedication for climbing are incorporated in Lapis climbing holds.

He is one of the leading Slovenian sport climbers and international route setter. He started climbing

in his home town Vrhnika in 1990. His focus was competition climbing and he won his first national

title already in 1991. Since that time he conquered the national title seven times and was member of

Slovenian national climbing team. He competed on all the major world cups all over the world. In 1996

he was sixth in the world cup competition in Graz and a year later third in Imst. His third palce was the

first podium for Slovenia in mans competition. He finished the year 1997 on the eight place in overall

standings. Aljoša finished his competing career in 2002. His best on-sight result is 8a+ and he climbed

8c. Solo climbing was another passion of Aljoša. In the year 1994 he solo climbed the route Brdavs 8a+

in Retovje and in the year 1996 Sonce v očeh 8a+ in Mišja Peč. In this period he climbed over 100 routes

solo in difficulty 7a to 7c+-.

Fixing:

Dual-Fixings: Cap-head (8mm-H) and Countersunk (6mm-H) fixings can be used with all holds (except screw-on holds).

Recommended Torque Settings (resistance to rotation)

The recommended torque settings have been calculated for a hold affixed to a typical flat climbing structure. The values quoted should be enough to stop a hold from spinning, when the climber applies the maximum moment. The values quoted are show as a recommended guide only. As there are many factors that govern the forces holding a hold to a wall and whether it will spin or not during use e.g. Friction Coefficients, hold-base, wall surface and texture.

Colours

The colours will be consistent within each order and from order to order. The UV stability of our standard colours is of the highest possible e.g. Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Black, and White and is recommended for outdoor use. Fluorescent pigments have Low UV stability and are therefore NOT recommended for use outdoors.

Care and cleaning

Cleaning: When cleaning your holds it is recommend that only a high-pressure washer be used. Cleaning holds with any detergents will vastly speed up deterioration of the surface colour.Care: When resetting routes it is important to take care not to drop the holds. Whilst every effort is made to ensure this type of treatment can be handled by the hold, repeated impacts will increase the chance of the holds fracturing whilst being affixed to an ACS. Any chips that result can be sharp and should be sanded/linished to remove these edges.

EN conformity

Lapis climbing holds are produced in accordance with the EN 12572-3 and EN71-3.
