About this Guide This configuration guide has been created to help you configure the Matrix SETU VoIP Gateway with Allworx SIP Trunking service.

Intended Audience This document is meant for use by IT system administrators and telecommunication network administrators who are deploying the Matrix SETU VoIP Gateway and configuring it for the Allworx SIP Trunking service. To be able to use this document to successfully configure SIP Trunks for the Allworx SIP Trunking service, it is assumed that you possess the following skills, or have a fundamental understanding of SIP Trunking and ability to follow technical instructions outlined in this Guide, or have access to persons with these skills:

Understanding of how Gateways work

Understanding of Matrix SETU VoIP hardware and system configuration

Understanding of the VoIP Interface of Matrix SETU VoIP Gateways

Familiarity with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)

Understanding of your internal network structure, Network Address Translation (NAT) setup, firewall setup

Understanding of your Public Internet connectivity

Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark/Ethereal

Experience in installing multi-port VoIP Gateways

Familiarity with the use of the Web-based configuration tool of Matrix SETU VoIP Gateways

Familiarity with configuration of Call Routing in Matrix SETU VoIP Gateways

Scope This guide describes the configuration of the below mentioned variants of the Matrix SETU VoIP Gateways for BandTel SIP Trunking service.

SETU VFXTH: VoIP-FXO-FXS Gateway

SETU VGFX: VoIP-GSM-FXO-FXS Gateway

SETU VTEP: VoIP-ISDN PRI Gateway

This guide will help you accomplish:

Configure the desired SIP Trunk(s) for Allworx SIP Trunking service using the Web-based configuration tool of the Matrix SETU VoIP Gateways.

Configuration of the essential parameters to make the SIP Trunk(s) function with the Allworx server. For more information related to VoIP configuration and SIP Trunking, see Related Documentation in this guide.

Getting Started Before you Begin Make sure you have the following ready, before you begin to configuring a SIP trunk of Matrix SETU VoIP Gateway with Allworx.

Matrix SETU VoIP Gateway with the following Firmware Version-Revision.

Gateway Firmware Version-Revision

SETU VFXTH V2R5 or later

SETU VGFX V3R6 or later

SETU VTEP V1R4 or later

Matrix SETU VoIP Gateway connected to the IP Network.

The current IP Address of the Network Port of SETU Gateway to access the embedded Web-based system Configurator, Jeeves. The default IP Address of the Network Port of your SETU VoIP Gateways are:

Gateway Default IP Address of the Network Port

SETU VFXTH 192.168.001.136

SETU VGFX 192.168.001.176

SETU VTEP 192.168.001.147

The recommended browser—Mozilla Firefox 3.5.1 and later or Internet Explorer 7 and later—installed on

the computer from which you will access the system Configurator, Jeeves.

Authorization to change the system configuration.

The current System Engineer password to access the system configuration. The default System Engineer password is 1234. This password is common for all SETU VoIP Gateways.

Accessing System Configuration

Open the browser, Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox, on the standalone computer/LAN PC to which the Network Port of SETU VoIP Gateway is connected.

Enter the current IP address of Network Port of your SETU VoIP Gateway in the address bar of the

browser. If the IP Address has not been changed, you may enter the default IP Address of the Network Port. See the topic Before you Begin in this guide for the default IP Address of the Network Port of your Gateway.

The login page opens.

In the Login Passwordboxon the login page, enter the System Engineer password (default: 1234),

and then click the Login button.

On successful login, the home page opens. In this example, the home page of SETU VFXTH.

Under Basic Settings on the left navigation bar, click the SIP Trunk link. The SIP Trunk parameters page opens.

The number of SIP trunks available to you for configuration will vary according to your Gateway variant.

Configuring a SIP Trunk in the Peer to Peer Mode To configure a SIP Trunk with Allworx in the Peer to Peer Mode you must:

Configuring a Peer to Peer SIP Trunk in Allworx To configure a Peer to Peer SIP Trunk in Allworx, follow the steps given below:

Open the browser, Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox, on a standalone computer/LAN PC to which the Network Port of SETU VoIP Gateway is connected.

Enter the current IP address of the Network Port of your Allworx in the address bar of the browser.

The login page opens

In Password on the login page, enter the login password, and click the Login button.

On successful login, the home page of Allworx opens.

Under the Phone System on the left navigation bar, click the Outside Lines link. The Outside Lines

parameters page opens.

Click Add new SIP Gateway.

In Description, enter a name. The name will be used for identification; for example, Matrix SETU VFXTH.

Under SIP Registration, select Gateway Uses Static IP Address.

In IP Address, enter the IP Address of SETU VFXTH.

Click Add.

Configuring a Peer to Peer SIP Trunk in the Gateway To configure a Peer to Peer SIP Trunk in the Gateway, follow the steps given below:

On the SIP Trunk page, choose any SIP Trunk number from 01 to 32

with Allworx, by clicking the SIP trunk number tab; for example, SIP Trunk number 1.

For the SIP Trunk number you select, make sure the SIP Trunk Enable check box is selected.

Assign a Name to the SIP Trunk as identification; for example, Allworx.

Click Registrar Settings to expand.

In SIP Trunk Mode, select Peer to Peer.

Click the Arrow icon to configure the Peer to Peer Numbers.

Click Edit. The Edit Entry window opens.

In Destination Address, enter the IP Address of Allworx.

Click Submit to save.

Click Close to return to the SIP Trunk parameters page.

Click Submit to save the changes.

Selecting Preferred Codecs

Click Vocoder Preference to expand.

Set the Vocoder preference.

From the Selected Codecs list box, move all other codecs—GSM FR, iLBC 30ms, iLBC 20 ms, G723.1— one by one, to the Available Codecs box, by selecting the codec, and then clicking the BACK ARROW.

You can set either G.711(A-law), G.711(μ- Law) or G.729 as the 1st

You may set the codecs in the order you want. Select the codec and using the UP ARROW place them in the desired order.

Click Submit to save.

Send CLI Option

Click Handling of Outgoing Calls to expand.

Select the Send Caller ID received on Source Port check box.

Advanced Settings

Click Advanced Settings to expand.

Transport Type

In SIP Transport, make sure UDP is selected.

DTMF

In DTMF, make sure Outband is selected.

FAX

In FAX Protocol, make sure Pass Through is selected.

Viewing SIP Trunk Status Once you have completed configuring the SIP Trunk, you may view its status. To do this,

Click the Status link on the left navigation bar.

Under Status, click the SIP Trunk link.

The SIP Trunk Status page opens.

To configure a Proxy SIP Trunk in Allworx, follow the steps given below:

Open the browser, Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox, on a standalone computer/LAN PC to which the Network Port of SETU VoIP Gateway is connected.

Enter the current IP address of Network Port of your Allworx, in the address bar of the browser.

The login page opens

In Password, enter the login password, and then click the Login button.

On successful login, the home page of Allworx opens.

Click Add new SIP Gateway.

In Description, enter a name. The name will be used for identification; for example, Matrix SETU VFXTH.

Under SIP Registration, select Gateway Uses SIP Registration.

In Login ID enter [Ex. 5100] and in Password, enter the password.

Click Add to save.

The Allworx SIP Trunk details appear on the screen.

In the Gateway, you must register a SIP Trunk with these credentials.

Configuring a Proxy SIP Trunk in the Gateway To configure a Proxy SIP Trunk in the Gateway, follow the steps given below:

On the SIP Trunk page, choose any SIP Trunk number from 01 to 325, you want to configure with

Allworx, by clicking the SIP trunk number tab; for example, SIP Trunk number 1.

For the SIP Trunk number you select, make sure the SIP Trunk Enable check box is selected.

Assign a Name to the SIP trunk as identification; for example, Allworx.

Click Registrar Settings to expand.

In SIP Trunk Mode, select Gateway.

In SIP ID, enter the Login ID you created with Allworx, in this case 5100. In Authentication User ID, this is same as the SIP ID, in this case 5100.

In Authentication Password, enter the Password you assigned to the Login ID you created with Allworx.

In Registrar Server Address: Port, enter the IP Address of Allworx. Keep the default server port

value 5060.

Click Submit to save.

Selecting Preferred Codecs

Click Vocoder Preference to expand.

Set Vocoder preference.

From the Selected Codecs list box, move all other codecs—GSM FR, iLBC 30ms, iLBC 20 ms, G723.1— one by one, to the Available Codecs box, by selecting the codec, and then clicking the

BACK ARROW.

You can set either G.711(A-law), G.711(μ- Law) or G.729 as the 1st

Preference and 2nd

Preference.

Configuring a SIP Extension in Allworx To configure a SIP Extension in Allworx, follow the steps given below:

Open the browser, Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox, on the standalone computer/LAN PC to which the Network Port of SETU VoIP Gateway is connected.

Enter the current IP address of Network Port of your Allworx in the address bar of the browser.

The login page opens.

In Password, enter the login password, and click the Login button.

On successful login, the home of Allworx opens.

Under Business on the left navigation bar, click the Users link. The Users parameters page opens.

Click add new user to create a User.

Enter the Login Name, Full Name and Password for the User.

Click Add to save.

Now, under Phone System on the left navigation bar, click the Handsets link. The Handsets parameters page opens.

Click add new SIP Handset to create a SIP Extension.

Under SIP Handset, select the Owner and Caller ID Number.

Under Handset Configuration, select Generic SIP as a Model and assign a Login ID and Password.

Click Add to save.

The SIP Extension details appear on the screen. Now, you must register the SIP Extension in SETU VoIP Gateway using these credentials.

Configuring an Allworx SIP Extension in the Gateway To configure a Allworx SIP Extension in SETU VoIP Gateways, follow the steps given below:

On the SIP Trunk page, choose any SIP Trunk number from 01 to 326, you want to configure with

Allworx, by clicking the SIP trunk number tab; for example, SIP Trunk number 1.

For the SIP Trunk number you select, make sure the SIP Trunk Enable check box is selected.

Assign a Name to the SIP trunk as identification; for example, Allworx.

Click Registrar Settings to expand.

In SIP Trunk Mode, select Proxy.

In SIP ID, enter the Login ID you created with Allworx. In Authentication User ID, this is same as the SIP ID.

In Authentication Password, enter the Password you assigned to the Login ID you created with

Allworx.

In Registrar Server Address: Port, enter the IP Address of Allworx as the server address. Keep the

default server port value 5060.

Click Submit to save.

Selecting Preferred Codecs

Click Vocoder Preference to expand

Set Vocoder preference.

From the Selected Codecs list box, move all other codecs—GSM FR, iLBC 30ms, iLBC 20 ms, G723.1— one by one, to the Available Codecs box, by selecting the codec, and then clicking the BACK ARROW.

You can set either G.711(A-law), G.711(μ- Law) or G.729 as the 1st

Preference and 2nd

Preference.

You may set the codecs in the order you want. Select the codec and using the UP ARROW place them in the desired order.

Click Submit to save.

Advanced Settings

Click Advanced Settings to expand.

Transport Type

In SIP Transport, make sure UDP is selected.

DTMF

In DTMF, make sure Outband is selected.

FAX

In FAX Protocol, make sure Pass Through is selected.

Viewing SIP Trunk Status Once you have completed configuring the SIP Trunk, you may view its status. To do this,

Click the Status link on the left navigation bar.

Under Status, click the SIP Trunk link.

The SIP Trunk Status page opens.
