�ص�بر* ب د2ها �ر ت•The Prophet of God (s) said: In the love of the way leading to God, there are two sips
of drinks: the drink of anger that you overcome with forbearance, and the drink
of calamity that you overcome with patience.

•The Prophet of God (s) said: Anger is from Satan (devil), and Satan is created
from fire, and fire is quenched with water, thus when anyone of you is overcome with
anger, he should perform wudhu (minor ablution).

�ه ل ك•Prophet of God (s) while responding to a person who sought an advice, said: ‘Give
up anger’. This person says that while the Prophet (s) was speaking, I thought that anger gathers all the evils with it.

•Prophet of God (s) said: Anger destroys faith in the same manner as
vinegar destroys honey.

•The Prophet of God (s) said: There is a door in Hell through which no one
will enter except the person who used to get angry while disobeying God, the
most high. [Al-Tanbih al-Khawatir, vol.1, p. 98]

anger of God, said: Don’t get angry on anyone and you will be safeguarded from the anger of God and His displeasure.

•The Prophet of God (s) said: O Ali ! Never be overpowered by anger, and if you get angry, sit down, and reflect that Lord, in spite of His
unlimited power over His servants, is so tolerant towards them. And when it is said to
you: ‘Be afraid of God’ then give up your anger and return to your forbearance.

•The Prophet of God (s) said: This anger is a spark from Satan that burns in the heart of son of Adam (human being), and when anyone of you gets angry, then his eyes become red, his veins swell and Satan
enters inside (takes hold of) him.
[Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 5, p. 267, hadith # 21]

�ه غ�ض�ب بح�لم�ه� ع� ف�ص�ر� �ه� الل �ر� ذ�ك•The Prophet of God (s) asked his companions: Who is the best wrestler among you ? They replied: Whoever wouldn't
fall on his back over ground is the most powerful. The Prophet (s) then said: No ! In reality the most powerful
wrestler is the person who, when provoked by the spark of Satan in his heart to become severely angry and when his
complexion is reddened by it, remembers God at that moment and successfully overpowers his anger by
forbearance. [Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 77, p. 150, hadith # 86]

•The Prophet of God (s) said: The most powerful wrestler of the all the wrestlers ! the most
powerful wrestler of the all the wrestlers ! the most powerful wrestler of the all the wrestlers !
The man who when angered severely and when his face becomes red (with anger), his skin
becomes bumpy with gooseflesh (because of anger), is able to knock down his anger !

excellence near to God, that is the drink of anger which he drinks for the
happiness of God seeking nearness to Him.

one day, and saw some people lifting a heavy stone, said to them: The most
powerful among you is the one who is able to control himself when anger takes over
him and most forbearing among you is the one who, when he has overpowered (his
enemy), forgives him. [Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 77, p. 148, hadith # 67]

revelation to Dawood (a): When my servant remembers me while (he is) in anger, on the Day of Judgment I will remember him
among all my creatures and will not let him among the perished ones who will perish
(because of my punishment).[Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 73, p. 266, hadith # 18]

• The Prophet of God (s) said: “One who restrains his anger (towards
someone), God will refrain chastisement from him.

• The Prophet of God (s) said: When anyone of you is overpowered by
anger, if he is standing, he should sit down. Then if still anger is not
overcome, he should lie down.
[Al-Tanbih al-Khawatir, vol. 3, p. 450]

•The Prophet of God (s) said: Beware that anger is the spark lit in the heart of son of
Adam. Haven't you seen this in the red eyes of angered and his swollen veins ? Thus when one feels that anger is approaching him, he should touch (or lie down on) the
earth. [Al-Tanbih al-Khawatir, vol. 3, p. 448]

•The Prophet of God (s) said: Shouldn’t I tell you who is the most powerful
among you ? The one who controls himself while in the state of anger.

•The Prophet of God (s) said: The one who overcomes his anger, God will fill
his inside (heart) with faith.

•The Prophet of God (s) said: A wrestler is not powerful, (rather) in
reality, powerful is the one who controls himself when he is in anger.

•Imam al-Sadiq (a) said: Anger is key to all kinds of vices.

Imam Ali (a) said: If you are taken away by the tide of anger than it will take
you towards the last limits of destruction.

first one to be burned in its flames.

•Imam Ali (a) said: Protect yourself from anger for its beginning is
insanity and its end is remorse.

angry feels regret and if he doesn't then his insanity is established.

•Imam Ali (a) said: Anger corrupts one’s intellect, takes one away from
path of righteousness.

alters logical reasoning, cuts off the foundation of authentic argument and scatters the ability to understand and

•Imam Ali (a) said: The best of abilities is (the ability) to control anger.

magnificent among people is the one who has complete authority over
himself, who he kills his anger and puts to death his excessive desires.

•Imam Ali (a) said: The fountainhead of all excellences is to control anger and
kill excessive desires.

who overcomes his anger.

•Imam Ali (a) said: The worst enemies (of human beings) are anger and desires, thus, whoever is able to
control them, attains a high station and accomplishes his ultimate goals.

…Take care and keep control over your temper, your anger and your desire to be
arrogant and vain. Take care of your hands when you are out to deliver punishment and of
the sharpness of your tongue when you are saying harsh things.…

'ك� ب The best way to achieve this is not to be…•إلير�hasty in making remarks and to delay in
delivering punishment so that you may keep your temper under control and are not
overexcited. And you cannot achieve this unless you constantly remember that you have to return to God and unless His fear

•Imam Ali (a) said: The most powerful person among people is the one who is victorious over his anger with his
forbearance.

•Imam Al-Baqir (a) said: The one who controls his anger even though he had
power to exercise it, on the day of judgment, God will fill his heart with
peace, calmness and faith.[Al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 110, hadith # 7]

into his heart, he repels it with either patience (and) or forbearance.

don’t exceed limits while you have authority, practice forbearance when you are in anger, and forgive (often) while you govern, so for you will be better end (you

•Imam Ali (a) said: The one who quenches the fire of his anger unjustly on someone, God will justly make him
taste the disgrace (in return).

It is reported from Imam Al‑Baqir (a): It is recorded in the Torah regarding which God Almighty confided to Moses (a), saying: "O Moses, control your anger towards those over whom I have given you authority, so
that I may spare you from My Wrath.”

asked: What is the way to get protected from the anger of God ?

God will be lenient towards him on the day of judgment.

•Imam Ali (a) said: Treat your anger with silence and your excessive
desires with wisdom.

person gets angry while he is standing, he should sit down because this will remove the filth of Satan (from him) and if he is sitting while in anger, he

should immediately attach himself to earth (sit down) as this will remove

nobleness.

never used to get angry for the sake of world, but when he would get angry for the
sake of righteousness, no one would recognize him and no one could stop his anger until he would achieve the victory
over the matter (settle the right). [Mizan al-Hikmah, hadith # 15067]

enemies and will be pleased with him on the Day of Judgment.

are those servants of mine who, when my forbidden was made permissible, were
angered like an injured tiger…. [Wasail al-shia, vol. 11, p. 416, hadith # 3]

Abuzar who was banished to Rabza by Caliph Uthman said: O Abuzar ! You were angered for the sake of God the powerful and the magnificent, so hope from Him for Whose sake you were angry.
These people are afraid of you for the sake of their world, while you are concerned about your religion
because of them…

•…thus they pushed you towards destruction and forced you in hardships. By God ! Even if all the heavens and earth are closed upon a servant who fears God, then God will open for him the ways (towards heaven and earth)…Thus you
should be only interested in righteousness and be only anxious of falsehood…[Al-Kafi, vol. 8, p. 206, hadith # 251]

and when in power, he doesn’t take for himself, more than what he deserves.
