Roatan, located between the islands of Útila and Guanaja, is the largest of Honduras Bay lslands. The island was formerly known as Ruatan and Rattan. lt is approximately 77 kilometres (4fl mi) long, and less than fl kilometres (5.0 mi) across at its widest point.

The most populous town of the island is Coxen Hole, capital of Roatan municipality, located in the southwest. Other important towns include French Harbour, West End, Sandy Bay and Oak Ridge.

Located near the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the largest barrier reef in the Caribbean Sea (second largest worldwide after Australia 1 s Great Barrier Reef), Roatan has become an important cruise ship and scuba diving destination in Honduras. Tourism is it's most important economic sector, though fishing is also an important source of income for islanders. Roatan is located within 30 minutes of La Ceiba. The island is served by the Juan Manuel Gálvez Roatan lnternational Airport which has direct international flights from Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and Houston via American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, and Avianca Airlines respectively as well as domestic connections for international flights arriving into mainland Honduran cities like the capital Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula and San Salvador, El Salvador. Recently, Tropic Air also started service from Roatan to Belize City and Cayman Airways also with direct flights from Cayman Islands.Canadian carriers Sunwing Airlines (via Toronto) and WestJet also serve the lsland with direct charter flights. The encounter consists of 30 minute waste deep in the water with a dolphin and a trainer. The impressive Arch's Iguana Farm in French Cay is just outside of town. Less a farm than the house of a serious iguana-phile, everywhere you look you see iguanas - on the driveway, in the trees, under bushes, everywhere. In all, around 3,000 iguanas live here, sorne as long as 1.Sm. Mid day is feeding time, and the best time to visit. There's also an enclosed pool with a school of huge fish, several small sea turtles and dozens of conches. lt's a worthwhile stop.

$ 15 per person On this guided tour, you will board a motorized dory for a trip through the protected mangrove tunnels. A dory is a wooden canoe-type boat with a small motor attached. T here are wooden benches inside the boat that vary in size (4-5 ft long). Sorne boats have a little wooden canopy for shade while others are completely open. While enjoying your dory ride, you will see beautiful vistas, and your dory captain tells you about the mangrove tunnels, local living, etc.

You will pass by sorne local towns like Jonesville, Lucy Point and Jonesville Point where, in the past, the only way to get from one town to the next was by boat through the mangrove tunnels.

On this tour, you can occasionally see wildlife like herons and other birds, iguanas, crabs, etc. in the Mangrove Tunnel's unique ecosystem - great photo ops.

Last but not least, if you would like to visit Hole in the Wall Bar and Restaurant for drinks or lunch at your extra expense.

The cost is $30 per person (13 & Up), $20 for 3-12 yrs and free for under 3. The admission price includes the use of our facility, beach, pool, lounge chairs, animal rescue facility, Copan Mayan Ruin replica, an island tour, animal encounter and sea lion feeding. We do have a few activities that we charge extra for and those are shark, sting ray and turtle snorkel and that's a 30 min guided tour for $35, and the sea lion encounter that allows you to come in and get some hugs, kisses and flipper shakes with the sea lions (land base) for $30. Age and height restrictions apply.

The guest can bring their own snorkel equipment is they would like to snorkel, or can rent it for $18 a day. We also have paddle boards for rent $15 for 1/2 hour and $25 for 1 hour per person. Lockers available to rent for $2.

Lunch is an island buffet that is $12 per person or they can order from our made to order menu (hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers & hot dogs all with FF).

We have a snack shop and gift shop on site as well.
