MOTORCYCLES SAFETY

RIDING A MOTORCYCLE• The most important thing when we are on

motorcycles is respect the traffic rules, not exceed the speed limit, and be always aware. Riding a motorbike is more physically demanding than driving a car and involves a high level of concentration.

MOTORCYCLE RULES • They are similar to the bicycles rules. Keeping

in mind that the motorcycle are a more powerful vehicle and an specific license is required.

WEAR A HELMET

• All motorcyclists and motorcycle passengers must wear a motorcycle safety helmet.

PASSENGER’S RULES• Passengers must be seated behind the

driver, with a leg on either side of the passenger’s seat and with their feet on the foot pegs at all times (even when the motorcycle is stopped).

DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS

• The use of daytime running lights for motorcycles is for reducing the number of crashes by making it easier to see motorcycles in traffic.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

• Special protector systems can be used on the shoulders, elbows, arms and thorax, and special back protectors are used to protect the spine.
