    professionals will be considered for presentation• Structured abstracts and the text of the abstract in must be in OpenOffice,

    MicrosoftWord, RTF or Wordperfect• All presenters of papers and posters need to be registered for the

    congress• ZOS Scientific Committee will take it for granted that good clinical

    practice is observed in the conduct of all research. This applies especially to clinical studies involving patients and patient care, and includes the understanding that the appropriate Ethics committee’s approval has been secured.

    It is with pleasure that I invite you to join the Zambia Ophthalmological Society in the 2018 congress. It provides a platform at which all eye care workers and partners within the country and abroad get together to share knowledge and skills in the ever-growing field of Ophthalmology.

    The theme for this congress is “Promoting eye health services through collaborative effort”. We envisage an interactive, educative congress and a forum at which all the cadres involved in eye care. Ophthalmologists, Ophthalmic Clinical officers, Nurses and Optometrists will participate and we look forward to lots of scientific presentations and discussions as well as an insight into the technical advances in Ophthalmology.

    Submit abstracts to Scientific Chairman, Dr Simon Chisi at Email: [email protected] and copy [email protected] should be structured into the following sections:• Theme Area• Mode of presentation: Indicate poster or oral• Title • Authors & Affiliations of Authors• Introduction or Aim (maximum 20 words)• Materials and Methods (maximum 120 words) • Results (maximum 234 words)• Conclusion (maximum 26 words)The Programme Committee will make every effort to accommodate all qualified abstracts within the programme. Final determination of mode of presentation to be given and placement within the programme will be the responsibility of the Programme Committee.

    Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, turned 100 years old in July 2013 and is noted as one of the fastest growing cities in central Africa. There are many interesting things to do and places to see when in Lusaka. The city offers a wide range of nightlife experiences, from upmarket clubs and restaurants to roadside pubs, where you can spend some time with the city’s inhabitants and get to know their style of music.
