Do not reach into the inlet slot! Do not insert any paper clips or staples in the inlet slot!

Keep neckties, scarves and loose clothing away from the area of the inlet slot!

Keep long, loose hair away from the area of the inlet slot.

Not a child‘s toy! Children may only use the device if under competent supervision.

Do not use any spray cans / ae-rosols in the vicinity of device!

Avoid wearing accessoiries (necklaces, etc.) while using the device!

Only insert a maximum of 8 sheets of paper (80 g/m²) at any one time!

3 Important safety instructions!

Only use the device after it has been properly assembled as described in point 7.

To use all functions of your Shredder, please read these instructions carefully before using the machine.

Keep the machine away from children and pets! The machine may only be operated by adults.

Please note: Keep plastic bags and plastic film out of the reach of infants and children as they can cause suffocation!

The machine may only be operated by one person at a time. Do not perform any other activities on the machine during operation (such as cleaning, for example).

Have qualified specialists perform any repairs.

Protect the machine from direct sunlight, extreme heat and humidity!

Safety note: The wall outlet must be situated in the vicinity of the machine and easy to access. This enables you to quickly disconnect the machine from the mains in case of an emergency.

Please note: The device is designed for short-term operation. Allow a rest period of 30 minutes after continuous operation lasting a maximum of 2 minutes.

Meaning of the warning symbols

Please note: Disregarding these safety signs can cause serious physical injuries and destroy your device! If an object (bracelet, tie etc.) does accidentally enter the

feed slot, unplug at the mains immediately!

5.1. Remove the mains plug from the socket before emptying the catch baskets 4 5 also during longer periods of non-use or before cleaning the machine!5.2. Do not use the machine if the power cord, mains plug or the machine itself is damaged

(risk of injuries)!5.3. Do not overload the recommended capacity of the wall outlet!5.4. Do not modify the power cord as it has been designed for the specified mains voltage.

6.1. Only use the shredder to shred paper, CDs or credit cards in the designated entry slots 2 3 .6.2. The material to be shredded must be dry and comply with the requirements listed

in the technical data!6.3. Shredding other materials can cause injuries to yourself (e.g. splintering of solid materials,

etc.) or damage to the machine (e.g. destruction of the cutting unit, etc.).6.4. Do not destroy any continuous forms with this machine! Remove all paper clips and staples

before feeding paper into the machine!6.5. The machine may only be used in dry, closed rooms.

7 Starting up the device

7.1. Carefully remove all of the elements from the packaging. Assemble the containers. Take container Parts A and B and the fixing rails supplied and lay them out a.) Place container Part A upright on the floor in front of you. Place the underside of Part B in the con-nection hooks of container Part A. b.) Then press Part B along the nodules on the side in the designated cutouts on Part A . c.) Once both elements have been assembled, fix them in place while slidering the two plastic rails ( with the open end first ) over the connection interfaces of the collection container elements un-til they click into place. The yellow marking „TOP“ must be visible at the top.“

7.2. d.)Next, assemble the container for CDs and credit cards by joining both elements at the notches to form a secure unit. Then insert the CD container in the designated rails at the underside of the shredder element until it engages. Now place the shredder unit with the CD container on the assembled paper container. The power supply socket should be situated in the vicinity of the machine and easy to access. This enables you to disconnect the machine quickly from the mains power supply in case of an emergency.

Please note: The device must only be used in its assembled state.

8.1. The sliding switch (Fwd, Auto, Off, Rev) 1 is used to operate the cutting mechanism.

8.2. Auto position: The device is ready for use. The shredding operation of the cutting mechanism (max. cutting capacity 8 sheets, 80 g/m2) starts automatically as soon as paper is inserted into the entry slot 2 . The device switches to forward motion and pulls in the material. Feed CDs into the cutting mechanism using the designated entry slot 3 . After shredding, the device switches off automatically.

8.3. Off position: The device is switched off.

8.4. Rev position: To hold back the paper, you can push the slide switch to the Rev position and the cutting mechanism will push the material back. The paper cutting mechanism runs backwards.

8.5. Fwd position: Continuous operation of the cutting mechanism to shred greater amounts of paper.

8.6. Please note: The max. capacity of sheets may not be exceeded, otherwise jamming will occur! Please note that the thickness of the paper is increased when folded, which would then exceed the recommended sheet capacity. Reduce the paper amount for rough fibre paper as well. It is recommended not to allow the paper catch basket to fill up directly to the cutting unit. This prevents the shredded material from jamming the cutting unit. Regularly empty the catch baskets 4 5 .

8.7. For complete destruction of credit and smart cards use also the paper entry slot 2 . In the interests of ordinary waste separation, we recommend you to destroy credit- and smart-cards separate from the paper.

Please note: Maintenance work may only be performed when the mains plug is discon-nected! So that you can enjoy your Shredder for a long time, we recommend regularly remo-ving residues from the cutting unit and applying special Shredder oil to the cutting unit. This helps to extend the lifetime of the machine.

When too much paper is fed into the cutting unit, a jam occurs. Proceed as follows: Push the sliding switch 1 in Position Rev. The cutting unit runs backwards and pushes the excess paper back out. Reduce the amount of paper and switch back to Paper Auto. The cutting unit now runs forwards again and the remainder is shredded. If the blockage is not eliminated through the backwards/forwards advance, disconnect the mains plug and manually remove the remainder from the cutting unit.

The motor switches off automatically in case of overload. Disconnect the mains plug from the wall outlet and allow the motor to cool down to room temperature. Then reconnect the mains plug into the wall outlet and continue operation.

12 Machine malfunctions!

Is the mains plug proberly inserted in the wall outlet?

Insert the mains plug correctly in the wall outlet.

The motor does not start after paper was fed?

Insert the paper or the CD into the respective inlet slot until it touches the sensor in the centre.

Machine no longer works after a longer period of operati-on, or stops during operation

Was the machine in continuous operation for a longer period of time? Is the surface of the machine warm?

Disconnect the mains plug from the wall outlet and allow the motor to cool down to room temperature.

Jam Did you insert more than 8 sheets of paper (80g/m²), or more than one CD? Was the material fed crookedly into the inlet slot?

Position the sliding switch to Rev, to push the paper back. Then switch back to Auto to shred the remai-ning paper in the cutting unit.

13 Storage

14 Disposal

Clean the shredder and store it, preferably in its original packaging, when it is not being used. Store the device in a dry environment, out of the reach of children and away from sources of heat.

The product packaging is made from recyclable materials. Dispose of this packaging in an environment-friendly way. Do not dispose of the shredder, at the end of its useful life, with domestic waste. By law, it must be correctly disposed of so that recyclable substances con-tained in the shredder can be reused, protecting the environment. Please contact your local authorities to find out about appropriate facilities near you. Before disposing of it, make the shredder unusable. Disconnect the shredder from the mains supply and remove the power cable from the machine.
