Dear sister Zontians Now that our 15th Zonta International District 17 Conference is fast approaching, I happily anticipate the arrival of many Zontians from all the five countries in our district. I would like to state here that the chosen theme for this conference is “Action for a Better World” At such an important conference, where ladies of many professions, well-versed in a big variety of careers meet and mix to foster friendship and exchange knowledge, as together we work for Zonta, to help the less fortunate and enhance women’s status, everyone is bound to gain a colorful experience and a time we will remember forever. We have three interesting workshops waiting for you: • Micro Finance for the Financial Tsunami Period• Health & Family Wellness • Proposal Writing Strategy for Service Projects. I sincerely hope that many of you, my dear sister Zontians will attend this conference, because, apart from arranging to have very interesting speakers and fruitful Business Sessions, we in Bangkok have planned many delightful programs for you. The complimentary ones are Qi-gong, dancing and Thai cooking.

We also arrange for Pre & Post Conference Tour Programs for you to choose from, the details of which you will see in our Organizing Chairman’s message. This Person, the Chairman is no other than Kanchana Saisiriporn our Past Area 6 Director, who is known for her good nature, sense of humor, friendliness and capability. My dear sweet Zontians, I hope this letter finds you all very well and also finds most of you preparing to come to Bangkok, to attend our “15th Zonta International District 17 Conference”.

It is really a great honor for Thailand and for us Thai Zontians that we are the host for this big Conference. I feel privileged to be appointed by Governor Narudee Kiengsiri as the Conference’s Organizing Chairman.

We in the Organizing Committee look forward to seeing Zonta clubs bringing their Photo Exhibition Boards of their works and activities, which will be exhibited at this conference. For the cost of US$ 50 per page, each club can have their activity and achievement reports published in our Souvenir Programme which will be given out at the conference. This will be a good chance to record your performance history for this Biennium.

The Centara Grand Hotel we’ve chosen as venue is under the same expansive roof as many world famous department stores. So you can shop to your hearts’ content (after conference hours).

At the bazaar, we have a great abundance of merchandises. There will be beautiful, fashionable ready-made garments, attractive and inexpensive hand bags, wallets and other products of everyday use that you can take home as gifts to your loved ones.

We are producing a special edition of fashion book, “Leading Professional Women of Asia”. This is to promote the Conference as well as to support the organization of this conference.
