St. Mary of the Annunciation Bristol, Indiana
From Our Pastor
Dear Parishioners,
We are blessed to have a Seminarian with us again this summer, I’ve let him take over the column this week as a way to introduce himself to the Parish. Please join me in welcoming Vince to St. Mary of the Annunciation! Blessings, Fr. Bob Hello! My name is Vince Faurote (fuh-wrote), and I will be your seminarian for the summer. I was born and raised in Decatur, Indiana and am from St. Mary of the Assumption parish. There are three I graduated from Bellmont High School in 2015 and am 23 years old. Before seminary, I attended the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne from 2015-2017. My majors were Biology and Theology at the time. I now attend Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland for seminary and just finished my degree in philosophy this spring. This will be my third year, known as 1st Theology, at the Mount, and I have four total years left before I am ordained a priest.
Some of my hobbies include reading, writing, running, weightlifting, podcasts, and law. I taught 6th grade CCD for two years before seminary and did youth ministry at two parishes in addition to campus ministry at the University of St. Francis. I really enjoy theology so if you have questions, feel free to ask! And if I don’t know, I’ll ask Fr. Bob! I’m a big Notre Dame football fan, so it’s great being up north!
Last summer I was assigned to St. Therese, the Little Flower parish in South Bend, right by the University of Notre Dame. Fr. Terry has a lot of energy and it could be a bit of a whirlwind at times, but I had a good time, and it was a great summer to get me accustomed to being on this side of the diocese. I’m happy to be assigned up here again, getting to explore more of the Bristol/Elkhart area. You’ll see me at Mass, shadowing Fr. Bob, parish events, and maybe out for a run! It’s so evident already how much Fr. Bob loves and cares deeply about all of you. I’ve found the summer is such a great time to learn from wonderful priests like Fr. Bob on how to be a good priest by loving Jesus, loving His bride the Church, and giving themselves to their parishes. I’m excited to get to know you all better and am looking forward to all that Fr. Bob has to teach (and feed!) me!
May our Lady of the Annunciation, pray for us and keep us in her loving mantle! Vince

Prayer for Memorial Day (From the USCCB)
We pray for our President, our political leaders and military leaders that they may tirelessly seek peaceful settlements
to international disputes.
We pray that the Lord may preserve the members of our Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Air Force from all harm.
We pray that even in war, we may keep clearly before us the defense of all human rights, especially the right to life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness.
We pray that the families, relatives and friends of our military members may be strengthened in times of concern and anxiety.
We pray that our homeland will be preserved from violence and terrorism.
We pray that the nations of the world will seek to work together in harmony and peace.
We pray that the hearts of all men and women will be moved to pursue true peace and justice.
We pray that violence may be overcome by peace; that weapons of destruction be transformed into tools of justice,
and hate give way to true charity
We pray for our veterans who have given their lives for our country we may bravely face the challenges ahead. Amen.
