Your membership will be delayed if it is not filled out completely and correctly.

Make sure your bank routing and account numbers are correct. (Routing is the first set of numbers on left, account is middle set of numbers) Read, sign and fill in all applicable information. *You must submit a check for your first month of dues WITH your application or your account will be double billed the first month!

It is your responsibility to notify the lodge of your change of personal information such as address, phone number, email address, etc.

Please keep us informed of any changes in your payments or billing information. If you leave law enforcement you need to notify the office manager or the billing will continue. If your dues are overdue by 60 days your membership will be suspended and you will not be covered for legal defense. Failure to update banking information can result in possible bank fees.

Fraternal Order of Police Treasure Valley Lodge #11 Membership Plan Information

Welcome to the Fraternal Order of Police. Below you will see a breakdown of the dues you pay and how the money is spent.

Sworn Member Dues: Lodge Dues are $37.00 per month. These dues pay for Legal Defense, Lodge expenses, State and Grand Lodge dues and Life Insurance. They are collected on a monthly basis. The money is also used for charities, training, conferences, operating expenses and other events. The Legal Defense fund is set up through a law firm who oversee the operations. It covers you for Criminal, Civil, or Administrative legal DEFENSE that is the result of employment in a law enforcement field. Currently, we have several Treasure Valley attorneys working with FOP. If you go to fop.net you can get a list of available attorneys. This plan is included in lodge dues. If you need more information see an e-board member or refer to your legal defense book you will receive once you are registered. Total yearly dues are $444.00 and include all benefits. They are tax deductible as union dues.

Associate Members: (Non-commissioned personnel) Dues are $32.00 per month. Associate members are eligible for legal defense. Legal defense covers non-commissioned personnel while on duty performing regular job description. Associate members have the same benefits that active members do and may attend meetings but they may not hold office and do not have voting rights.

Retired Members: Dues are $45.00 per year. Retired members receive membership to the Grand Lodge and Idaho State Lodge. They are not eligible for life insurance or legal defense. Retired members are welcome at all meetings and FOP events.

You will be billed by Crowne One Inc. through one of two different methods. The first option is for the Electronic funds transfer from your personal checking or savings account. The second is for debiting your Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit card account. Payments are due and processed on the 11th of each month. If monthly payment is not received within 60 days of payment due date you will be suspended from the legal plan.

Fraternal Order of Police – Our Emblem

My friend, this emblem, as adopted by the fraternal Order of Police, will always remind you of the duties that are expected of you as a citizen, a police officer and a member of this Order.

First, the five cornered star, that is found in our national emblem and tends to remind us of the allegiance we owe to our flag. The star is also the symbol of authority with which you, like all police officers are more or less invested. This authority conferred upon you by the people is a token of honor, for in this act they recognize in you a man or woman of ability and power, and equal to the task set before you. They also place in you their confidence and trust. Let us hope that you will never abuse this confidence or betray this trust and that your actions will always be such as to command an honorable opinion of all those with whom you come in contact.

Midway between the points and the center of the star is a blue field. The points are of gold, which indicates the position under which we are now serving. The background is white, being the virgin or unstained color, represents purity. Among our many efforts one is to allow nothing of a corrupt nature t be injected into the Order; Therefore, blue, gold and white are our colors.

In the uppermost blue fields are the letters F.O.P. which is our monogram, “Fraternal Order of Police.” In the blue field in the lower left hand corner is the open eye, the eye of vigilance, the ever watchful eye, which notes the danger and offers protection to the public asleep or awake. In the blue field in the lower right hand corner is the hand clasp, which denotes friendship. This my friend is a very important item. The hand of friendship with good advice and a few kind words often has a wonderful influence. In many cases it relieves a burden, cheers a heart, strengthens the ability, renews the determination and sets aright the footsteps of an erring Brother or Sister.

The circle surrounding the star midway indicates our never ending and never tiring efforts to promote the welfare and advancement of this Order, and within its bounds we are all one great and powerful unit. In the half circle over the centerpiece is our motto, written in Latin; Jus, Fides, Libertatum….which translated means Law is a safeguard of freedom. In the center of the star is the seal of Fort Pitt. This my friend tends to remind us of where the first efforts were put forth to establish this highly necessitated Order. You are hereby declared a member of the Fraternal Order of Police (pending lodge approval) and will be addressed as Brother or Sister. Let us hope that our Order will always have cause to be proud of your membership.

Fraternal Order of Police – Oath and Obligation My friend, the Fraternal Order of Police was organized for the purpose of promoting harmony and social welfare among the members of that calling, that we might bring together all those in whom is invested the authority of enforcing the laws of our country. Those men and women in whose hands lay the happiness and welfare of the nation and upon whom the nation depends for justice and protection. We gather, so that we might be better able to advance our ideas, promote our efficiency and thereby become a power and share in the gains and honors of advancing civilization. It is therefore, our duty to teach and practice that which is honorable and just and to that end, it is the duty of each and every member to unite in our effort to promote the welfare and advancement of this Order. You have sought admission, been well recommended and found worthy. Should you become a member, it will likewise be your duty to add your efforts to that of our, that our Order might live and prosper.

My friend, the instructions you have so far received have enlightened you partially in the aims and objects of our Order. You understand the duties that are required of all members herein. You also understand the duties that will be required of you should you take the obligation of the Order, which will bind you as a man or woman, but will in no way interfere with your religious or political views, or your rights as an American citizen.
