YuFund Grant ReportThe University of York Big Band are a non-auditioning student run Big Band with around 20-25 players !e were kindly awarded "#00 fro$ YuFund whi%h allowed us to pur%hase a dru$ kit and new %y$&als'aving our own dru$ kit ena&les us to ensure a nu$&er of things( the $ost i$portant of these is that we %an &e sure that we will have a dru$ kit at rehearsals instead of having to rely on the $usi% depart$ent kit &eing availa&le )ften the $usi% depart$ent dru$ kit is in pie%es and s%attered around the depart$ent whi%h redu%es the a$ount of ti$e we have to rehearse our $usi% *t also allows us to use a dru$$er in future who $ay not &e a&le to &ring their ownkit to university !e %an also rent out the dru$ kit to other so%ieties and &ands who need to use one whi%h in turn helps us get $ore funds for the &and to allow us to pur%hase $ore new e+uip$ent su%h as folders( sheet $usi%( travel %osts et%!e used so%ial $edia to pro$ote the opportunity given to use &y YuFund on our Fa%e&ook page( $ailing lists and we&site The fun%tion &and( ,ysfunktion( were also kind enough to pro$ote &oth YuFund and Big Band at several of their gigs Both the &and and %o$$ittee are very thankful to YuFund and the alu$ni that have given their $oney to help us &etter the &and and allow us to keep $aking $usi%)liver -i%kup.hair
