Youths behavior in English learning settings.
In recent times, behavior in English classroom is one of the most critical and
controversial focus of study not only by psychology but also by educational
sciences. It is expected to make a comparison between extroversion and
introversion like dimensions of learners personality in an English setting. It is in
order to analyze the students performance in several conditions and activities led
in the English classrooms. One of the expected outcomes of the analysis is then to
provide some clarifications for teachers and English teachers trainees concerning
to how to proceed or give a treatment to the different behaviors they will face. In
conclusion, discussing about behavior in English classroom helps not only master
the role of a versatile teacher ready to do the best but helps students be aware of
their weaknesses and strengths in English learning.Pedagogy, Psychology and social norms come to play significant roles in the way
both students and teachers behave and interpret the behaviors of others in the
classroom and in other academic settings. Thus, it is supposed to create an
environment into the classroom similar to the society in order to train students to
the real life. Also, conditions and factors, even behaviors need to be controlled in
the classroom. This thought is because if students are behaving in positive ways, it
is more likely that they will learn and mature academically, as well as socially and
emotionally. Negative behavior can disrupt a class completely. As a teacher, you
have the ability to structure your environment and your teaching in ways thatencourage positive student behaviors. This can make your classroom a better
environment for everyone.
There is, however, a deep concern about which English students behavior must be
managed or changed. As it is well known extroversion and introversion are
dimensions of learners personality. So, there is a close relationship between those
dimensions and different linguistic variables related to students performance and
behavior in academic settings. On the one hand, extroverts learning is a shared
experience. It means, they get energy from others and they have a learning style
that gets more profits by discussion than by isolated thought. Otherwise,
introverted students are energized by quiet, being alone or in small groups.
Because of that, they are good at listening, planning, taking time for thought and
concentrating on tasks for long periods of time. Anyhow, both of them need to be
understood in depth because none is better or more useful than the other.

Nowadays, it is important to be aware of what kind of students take an English
class in order to get a balanced classroom. In fact, that knowledge allows teachers
to realize the suitable ways they can use depending on the particular needs and
interests of the students. However, generalization or bias about the behavior of
students in the classroom and in other academic setting would be unhelpful if theparticularities are not taken into account. Both of them, introverted and extroverted
students, reflect their own point of view about social values, personality and
motivation in the class. Hence, teachers strategies should allow their students be
successful in their processes. It is due to the adequate conditions for learning and
the sense of balance in activities among the different personalities and behaviors
of students.
To conclude, the impact of classroom behavior not only on the ability of students to
learn and teachers to teach is substantial. If students are behaving in positive
ways, it is more likely that they will learn and mature academically, as well as
socially and emotionally. Negative behavior can disrupt a class completely.
Subsequently, as an English teacher, you have the ability to structure your
environment and your teaching strategies in ways that encourage positive
students behaviors. In other words, it means students with their differences and
specific characteristics can perform and do their best in any activity if teachers
have obtained a wide knowledge of their students, their needs and the way they
prefer to develop the classroom activities for their learning process of English.
