Context

Calvary CW is a growing church in the city of Woodstock, Ontario.Our church exists to impact our community for Christ with authenticity,eexcellence and passion, while at the same time empowering people on their journey towards, and with, God. According to Stats Canada the average age in our city is 40, which means that we have a strong focus on youth, and young families. Our church is highly committed to seeing people who are far from God come into relationship with Him and we believe that youth play a key role in seeing our vision come to reality.

PurposeCalCalvary CW has a huge desire to see those who are far from God become fully engaged followers of Christ. In order to help see this vision come to reality we believe that we need to engage our students with an exciting, relevant Youth Ministry.

Requirements • Clear, observable commitment to Jesus Christ • Commitment to the Core Values of Calvary CW • An evangelistic heart and mindset • A relational and pastoral heart • A high work ethic • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment • A Professional Certification in Youth Ministry or 3 plus years of experience in the area of youth ministry is preferred • Must have a proven ability to work effectively with youth, middle school students, parents, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers

Youth Pastor

Responsibilities

• Help plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry • Mentor youth and middle school students in developing their leadership skills • Stay current on new resources and changes in youth ministry and youth culture, and adjust our programming as needed to maintain a current and ef effective program • Recruit and train volunteers to serve in various aspects of youth and middle school ministry • Be a liaison between the church and other community organizations, people, and resources that relate to youth ministries • Provide opportunities for youth and middle school students to connect with the Holy Spirit in a real and powerful way (i.e., retreats, conferences, etc.) • Coordinate and implement small groups for youth and middle school students that will deepen their relationship with Christ and create community amongst students • Work in partnership with schools and local organizations in the area to effectively reach youth and middle school students in the community, and develop a strategic ministry outreach plan • Be available to encourage, challenge, and counsel youth, middle school students and parents towards effective lives as followers of Jesus
