Inspiration for youths: be responsible

•3 Key Insights

Yoke of oxen

#1: The gold mine glitters not...PROVERBS 14:4

• Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is clean, but an abundant harvest is produced by strong oxen. -Proverbs 14:4

• Much increase requires strong oxen

• Keeping oxen means feeding trough is DIRTY

• Someone will keep the dirty trough clean

• Much increase requires doing some "dirty jobs“

• Will you do that?

#2: Every Master, was once a servant...Luke 16: 10-12

• And if you haven't been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you your own? -Luke 16:12

• "I don't want to work for anybody" Really?

• Nobody will work for you too!

• Fastest way to "own your own" is to FAITHFULLY SERVE another.

• How faithful are you where you currently work?

I ain't serving nobody

Pit bull

#3: The prince can become a pauper...Luke 15

• Kill that "sense of entitlement“

• Along with "entitlement" mindset, comes irresponsible behaviour

• The young boy said: • " Father, GIVE ME my share of the property that will come to me.." v 12.

• He squandered the inheritance, because, he did not EARN IT!

• He learnt obedience "...through the things that he suffered..."

Prince –to- Pauper transition...

Then...

• "...he came to his senses and cried aloud..." v 17

• He disqualified himself from any form of entitlement

• He learnt to trust his Father's judgment

• "Father, I have sinned......MAKE ME, as one of your hired servants..." (v 18 - 19)

Creativity is critical

• Identify your talent

• Nurture your talent

• Be an apprentice to a Master...

• Dare to volunteer - work for free, to gain experience
