Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen:Servant of All.

For decades, Fulton Sheen served as a shining example of what it means to serve God.

His television show, “Life is Worth Living,” reached 30 million viewers a week, and his

words were captured in over 100 publications. His inspiration came not just from his

teachings, however. Millions were influenced by the way he lived and by witnessing

his personal relationship with God.

The film, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen: Servant of All, introduces this beloved priest to a new

generation. His messages remain as relevant and powerful today as they were nearly a

half-century ago. Through the stories of those who knew him, viewers are reminded of his

life and works. He lives on in the memories of those whose lives he forever changed.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s remains have returned to Peoria, providing an opportunity to move forward with the sainthood process

for the El Paso-born Sheen. Archbishop Sheen is set to be beatified, after Pope Francis’ formal July 6 approval of a miracle brought the cause of Archbishop Sheen’s canonization one step

further. Now Sheen is a candidate for sainthood. Residents of central Illinois

are hopeful and want to celebrate the life of this amazing local man.

jobs. But Carmen Castillo changes that when she wins a seat on the City Council in Providence, Rhode Island. Carmen Castillo is a Dominican City Councilwoman who maintains her job cleaning hotel rooms, as she takes on her new role in politics. She faces skeptics who say she doesn’t have the edu-cation to govern, the power of corporate interests who take a stand against her fight for a $15/hourly wage in the City, and a tough re-election against two contenders—all of this while balancing the challenges of managing a full-time job cleaning hotel rooms, and a personal relationship. It’s a journey behind the scenes of politics after the victory.

Rainbow Readers 2019

Local librarians from across central Illinois recruit the best and brightest from their summer reading programs. Students took time out of their summers to come to the WTVP studio and film book reports about their favorite stories or ones that they had read recently. These videos show the star readers chosen to represent each library. Keep read-ing kids! The reports are modeled after the “for-kids-by-kids” video book reports at the end of each episode of the classic PBS series READING Rainbow.

Scramble the Seawolves

WTVP was honored to host a screening of Scramble the Seawolves in our Studio on August 6. Almost 150 guests were treated to the compelling story of the Seawolves squadron from the Vietnam War. These brave soldiers did not imme-diately receive commendations for their heroic acts but 40 years later they are being celebrated for their actions. Seven of the Seawolves joined us in studio for a fascinating Q&A session. Thank you for your service gentlemen.
