The acvies at the rodeo grounds have always been great value for the price, but this group has outdone themselves this year. I was honoured to be asked to parcipate in the Community Hall Ground Breaking Ceremony. I have to say that to include this in the Bowden Daze schedule was inspiraonal by the Bowden Expanding Horizons Society. There were many of our community partners and dignitaries in town for the parade and that they have had the opportunity to parcipate in this wonderful event is excellent. Town Council has had a very busy year in 2017. We have had to address many issues and it has been grafying that many of these have been related to economic expansion. We look forward to having more enhancements to our local community over the remainder of this year. Many of our volunteer organizaons are short of volunteers and I would encourage everyone to research the many organizaons that help make our community a beer place to live. I would like to start the August Mayor’s Message with the hope that we had great weather for all of our Bowden Daze activities. Bowden Daze will be over by the time this edition of the Bowden Newsletter is delivered. I would like to (once again) congratulate the Bowden and District Agricultural Society on twenty-five years of service to our community. I have seen the schedule and I think that this will be a stellar year for this organization. The extra events and the midway should offer the public more bang for their buck. The activities at the rodeo grounds have always been great value for the price, but this group has outdone themselves this year. I was honoured to be asked to participate in the Community Hall Ground Breaking Ceremony. I have to say that to include this in the Bowden Daze schedule was inspirational by the Bowden Expanding Horizons Society. There were many of our community partners and dignitaries in town for the parade and that they have had the opportunity to participate in this wonderful event is excellent. Town Council has had a very busy year in 2017. We have had to address many issues and it has been gratifying that many of these have been related to economic expansion. We look forward to having more enhancements to our local community over the remainder of this year. Many of our volunteer organizations are short of volunteers and I would encourage everyone to research the many organizations that help make our community a better place to live. These diverse volunteer groups have a variety of opportunities to pique your interests and highlight whatever your special talents are. More information on our committees, societies and boards is available at the Town Office. A special salute to Marion Rasmussen. She was the driving force behind the beautification of the planters that are just off Highway 2A South of Main Street.

generous donations from businesses and individuals. Olds Westview Coop Manager Dennis

Laing presented a cheque for $25,000 from the Federated Coop Community Spirit Fund and Red

Deer Councillor Connie Huelsman presented a cheque for $300,000 from Red Deer County.
