• Ballots will be mailed between Nov 13-15. Dec 6th is deadline for returning them. Ballots submitted late will not be counted. Your vote counts! Your club – your choices.
• ISHSA February fund raiser show will be February 16, 2018 at Birt Arena. It will be a potluck! Show bill in the newsletter
• If you are interested in being considered for Point Secretary please forward your resume to Anne Gahley ([email protected]) or bring 20 copies of your resume to the February 2018 meeting. This is a yearly position.
• Sponsorships still needed for year end!! Please consider sponsoring a year end award! If you need to know what sponsorship are needed please contact Donna Bernardelli ([email protected]).
• If you are sending information for the website ([email protected]) please send in PDF format. If you need help converting your document send to Barb (me) (newsletter editor). I can convert for you. No problem!!

General Membership Meeting November 1, 2017 Sunrise Café in Middleton
The meeting called to order by President Donna Staack.
Attendance: Donna, Duane S, Anne, Rylene, Carolyn, Linda, Dixie, Jody, Zack, Wade, Jamey, Donna B, Lois, Tami, Andrea, Patricia Shuster, Dwayne Benedict
Minutes: Were approved as read. Moved by Linda/ Jody. Motion passed unanimously.
Treasurers Report: $7,345.75 in the general fund (does not include deposit from Double Point show made 11/01/17). The scholarship fund has $2,575.83.
Rylene just received the bill for the Horse Park. The ranch class day paid for 2 days of arena rental. Other bills have been paid.
Committee Reports:
Double point show: Wade reported the spring double point show will be April 20, 21 & 22 2018 at the Horse Park. Friday there will be ranch classes and Sat & Sun the regular ISHSA classes with some APHA classes. More details later. Feb 16th will be a fund raiser show & pot luck at Birt’s arena.
EPRB/LOC: Anne reported that the ISHSA judge’s clinic went well. Our clinicians Chris Bergsend & Tim Phillips did a fine job.
Thank you to all the riders that came out to help our judges.
Banquet/ Awards committee: Deneen was absent. The contract has been signed & menu decided upon. Banquet is Feb 24th 2018. Tickets are for sale, please contact Deneen.
Due to Anita’s passing some of the shows weren’t recorded yet. A committee will met Sat to complete the points. Please do not check until after Sat, to give the group time to update the point system.
Scholarship Fund: $2,575.83 in the fund. No activity on the account.

I’ve been delayed in sending out the newsletter trying to figure out how to adequately write about someone we recently lost and an amazing person who touched all our lives and will be missed deeply….. Anita Stephan.
Anita Stephan left us to go to heaven October 13, 2017. There was a wonderful celebration of her life October 27 that was held at Birt Arena. There was a great turnout and it was very special to hear words from Anita’s family and longtime friends. (I think I get tunnel vision and I am surprised when people have a life outside of the horse world.) The Celebration of Life was directed by Al Birt who did a beautiful job. Butch Mowdy sang one of Anita’s favorite karaoke song and Kade Atwood sang Amazing Grace.
Anita left behind many family members and many long-time friends that will miss her deeply, and always. As a horse community there will be a hole forever. Anita was not only ISHSA show secretary & point’s secretary, she was NRHA show secretary for Snake River Reining Alliance and always was in the show office to greet everyone with a smile and friendly word. She was an integral part of the ISHSA double point show team and she also helped out with other breed shows in various positions whenever asked. Anita was involved with 4H and always enjoyed helping the kids.
We will miss Anita always and hold her family close in our thoughts and prayers.
With the loss of Anita, ISHSA points for 2017 are a bit behind. The team is working on getting everything caught up and updated on-line. Everything should be completed over this weekend. After this weekend please go to the ISHSA website (www.ishsa.info) and check your points.
