DEPARTMENT OF MINERALS AND ENERGY (DME) Declares South Africa Mining WeekGovernment has again shown strong support for Electra Mining Africa, South Africa’s top mining, construction, industrial and power generation show. The Department of Minerals and Energy (DME) confirmed that Mining Week will run concurrently with Electra Mining Africa in 2008. The DME and other parastatal service providers to the industry will exhibit at Electra Mining Africa and there will be a 5-day jewellery workshop where the creation of gold, diamond and platinum jewellery will be seen. The DME will also be hosting co-locating workshops.

THE VENUEThe Expo Centre at Nasrec will once again host this exhibition. Due to its appointment as broadcast centre for 2010 Soccer World Cup, the entire precinct is a hive of development. The venue has proved to be ideal as it is self-contained and boasts restaurants, conference facilities, entertainment areas and secure parking. Nasrec is conveniently situated close to highways and airports and is just 15 minutes from Johannesburg, the busi-ness capital and economic powerhouse of South Africa.
