With Valentine’s Day around the corner, here’s a mission we think you’ll fall in love with: We’re pitting two sweet and complex ingredients against each other to see which one wins your hearts. Your mission is to choose sides in a battle between chocolate and vanilla by showing us something delicious with one of those flavours. Your feelings may be torn, but you must choose one!
NEXT MISSION: CHOCOLATE VS. VANILLA
Is the proof in the pudding? If so, Melinda Falkenberg-Poetz with Alberta Milk su!gests using local milk to whip up a chocolate or vanilla pudding. “Using Alberta milk makes it creamy and delicious, as well as adds nutrients.” W"en making pudding at home, Melinda reminds you to watch your temperatures. “The most important thing is not to scorch your milk when cooking it. Make sure it’s slow and low when you stir.” If Melinda had to choose between the two, she’d choose chocolate. She recommends using the chocolate milk ji!gle pudding recipe at moreaboutmilk.com for an easy pudding you can make at home. “It’s so easy to make, easy enough that the kids can help, too.” Using chocolate milk to make a chocolate pudding will make it extra chocolatey, says Melinda, so if your sweet tooth demands chocolate, that might be the way to go.
If you’re enjoying local ingredients in your #gastropost this week, make sure to include the #tasteab tag for an extra chance to be in the paper!
