Some are privately-managed and others are provided by UCC Campus Accommodation. You will be living with an average of three other students and you may select from single, twin or double rooms, with many being en-suite. Prices range from €65-€150 per week, based on single-occupancy and a 39-week fixed term agreement. Most apartment complexes will ask for a furagreement. Digs/LodgingsaAnother option is to live with a landlady and other stu-dents, with single and twin rooms available. You will re-ceive breakfast, dinner and evening supper. This is a very economical and safe accommodation and particularly well suited to first year students.

Rent prices are set by the Accommodation Office and no landlady may charge more than the advertised amount. The amount will include all utility bills, food costs (as pre-scribed) and the booking deposit is refundable at the end of the agreed term. We recommend that you make an appointment to meet several landladies before you choose one.aa

Shared Student HousesaThe Accommodation Office advertises over one thousand The Accommodation Office advertises over one thousand houses which are owned and managed by private land-lords. Student houses are popular for older students and while the office sets down minimum standards, properties can vary in quality and it is advisable to see as many houses as possible before choosing.

Rents vary from 70-90 per week, excluding utility bills and is paid on a monthly basis. Landlords may charge more than 90 per week where the property has been af-forded Grade A status by the Office. No landlord may charge more than one month in advance. If you find any substandard housing please contact the Accommodation Office.

Choosing the Right Option for You

There are three accommodation options available to stuThere are three accommodation options available to stu-dents, namely to live in apartments, private houses or digs/lodgings. There are merits to each option and it is advisable to visit our website and speak with our staff to see which one is the best fit for you. Remember that the rent prices generally do not include energy bill charges. Every property will ask for a security deposit to both confirm your booking and this may in part be retained confirm your booking and this may in part be retained should there be any arrears in rents due, damage etc.

When you rent property, you are generally renting a room only (single-occupancy) with a shared living space with other students in the property. Be aware, that if you sign an agreement to stay for nine months, then you could end up paying the rent for the whole nine months, even if you move out much earlier.
