Your Guide to:

Dear Music Camp Participant:We are so excited about our upcoming music camp at Cedar Ridge and are looking forward to welcoming you Monday, July 15, 2013. Please park in either the North or West Parking Area, and enter the Worship Center (west building).

[Note: See Enclosed Schedule]

Parking

Doors will open at 8:15 a.m. every day in order to allow your family time to check in, eat breakfast (optional), drop off your children in their classrooms, and be ready to sing by 9:00 a.m. We have a check-in system through our computer database so please be patient as we all get through the first day, and bring your “family card”* for check-in (see note below).

At 8:45 a.m. the Preschool Area & Elementary Area doors will open. Please stay until you have placed your child in their room. If your child is on time, he will receive an on-time treat at the end of the day.

Pick up time is 12:30 p.m. Every pick up person will need the “family card” to check out a child. We have already taken note of special people that are allowed to pick up your child (other than Parent 1 or 2), so please let us know if anyone else will be picking up your child during the week.

*Note: If you don’t know what a family card is, you probably need to get one for your family. Computer swiped, barcoded family cards are assigned to every family that comes to Cedar Ridge. You will receive a set of 5 identical cards. Give a card to anyone you want to have access to checking in or picking up your children. You can be assigned a family card on a Sunday Morning at either the Broken Arrow Campus, Coweta Campus, or the Sapulpa Campus; or during Music Camp. If you wait until camp time, please remember to arrive early enough on Monday; your child doesn’t receive their on-time treat until the end of the check-in process.

See Guest Services, at our Welcome Center, if you need any assistance during Music Camp. We can help with check-in or check-out; add/edit pick up people; payment; breakfast questions; snack questions; CD/MP3 issues; and more.

Guest Services

In order to help your child have a steady focus and energy through the day, our Fellowship Hall Room will be availablefrom 8:15-8:45 a.m. for your family to share a healthy breakfasttogether. Outside food and drink are welcome.

If you choose not to share in our breakfast time, please have your child eat a big breakfast every morning. We will provide a small mid-morning snack at Music Camp, but breakfast is the key to their sustained energy. What is a good breakfast? Focus on fiber — choose whole grains like whole-wheat bread, whole-grain waffles, or a high-fiber cereal. Better breakfasts also include some type of protein like eggs, nuts, Nutella, beans, low-fat cheese, yogurt, or milk (yes, a cup of milk has 8 grams of protein). This will help your child feel full longer. And finally, breakfast is a great time of day to eat a deliciously sweet piece of fruit. Toss some strawberries over your cereal, cut a banana into your yogurt, or just enjoy a fresh apple, orange, or peach… Yum!

We wanted to let you know what your kids ‘Snack Time’ food will include at Music Camp. Snack schedule is still to be determined:

Preschool Area Snackscereal bars + carrotspretzels + bananas (1/2)Ritz Bitz Cheese + mandarin orangesBugles + grapesZoo Animal Crackers + apples

If your child has any food sensitivities, this alternate snack will be available: Grapes & Popcorn

By now, you should have received an email with the .mp3 song files for Music Camp. For your convenience, this packet also contains the same mp3 info in a CD format. If you have any trouble with your CD or MP3s, please visit the Guest Services counter on Monday Morning during check-in time.

The more your child listens to the songs, the better they will do. MP3s are available at: http://cedarridgecc.com/musiccamp/music-camp-2013-MP3/

Friday evening, July 19 in the Broken Arrow Campus Worship Center, the 4 and 5 year old preschool children will present their musical “Noah’s Zoo” at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Kindergarten through Fifth Grade children’s musical “The Promise Cruise” at 7:45 p.m.

Outside doors will open at 6:00 p.m. to allow plenty of check-in time before the program. After checking in your kids, at 6:30 p.m. drop off the Preschool Kids in the Preschool Area Music Room and the Elementary Students in the Fellowship Hall. Don’t forget your “family card.” The Worship Center doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for you and your family to find a seat for the performance, and enjoy a video of all the week’s activities.

When picking up your child after the performance, you will need to present your “family card” to your child’s worker before your family moves into the Fellowship Hall for your child’s Treat Bag. The church will be recording the performances, which are available for purchase a www.musiccamp.cc (If you pre-ordered a DVD, it will be mailed to you 10-12 weeks after the performance.)

Here’s what your child should wear for the performance [Note: all camp items will be handed out on Friday during Music Camp]:

On your Practice CD/mp3: Listen to tracks #10-26

Our theme this year is The Promise Cruise. Our Preschool & Elementary Areas will spend the week exploring the Genesis 6-9 Bible Story of Noah & The Ark. Fun, musical elements will sink these Bible truths deep into our minds. If your family is up for the challenge, start memorizing these passages. It is our prayer they will grow deep and strong in your heart.

One last thing, please look over the included information. We have provided a schedule for pick up and drop off to assist you in times when you will need your “family card” out and available. We have also included a listing of the groups. Please look over this list to verify any friends they requested to be with. Let us know if there are any changes you would like to request; the last day to change groups is Monday, July 8. We will not allow children to change groups during Music Camp Week.

Looking forward to seeing you,
