Why Renewable Energy Technology? With space heating and hot water accounting for nearly three quarters of the energy consumed in our homes and ever increasingdemands on electricity, the introduction of sustainable renewable technology becomes a more considered choice!

Heat Pumps harvest and convert free outdoor air into renewable environment friendly heat for our homes. Our industry leadingrange average an output of 3.8kW for every 1kW of input electrical energy, operating efficiently in temperatures as low as -15°C.

Solar Hot Water is free, clean and safe, in the UK we receive as much as 60% of the solar radiation experienced at the equatorproviding the ability to reduce hot water bills by up to 70%.

Biomass Boilers offer superb returns, in particular to larger off grid properties using sustainable pellets for fuel, providing significantsavings over oil and gas boilers.

Solar PV, possibly the simplest and cleanest renewable technology, harnesses the suns rays, converting into free electricity, combinedwith the latest Battery Storage technology now means free daytime electricity can be stored and used after daylight hours.

Air Heat Recovery is more significant for commercial, retail and industrial premises using high output refrigeration or air conditioningsystems. The production of chilled ambient air produces extreme waste heat otherwise dispensed into the atmosphere. Our AirHeat Recovery systems convert the captured waste heat into free space and hot water heating, producing typical ROI’s of 3 years!

Ultimate Efficiency at UK winter temperaturesOur units are designed to provide optimum performance at typical UKwinter temperatures (between -2ºC to 7ºC )and deliverexceptionallyhigh COP’s of 4.5 – 4.8(A7/LWT35).This means they are more efficientand cheaper to run than most other systems achieving a higher COP’sthan most of the leading competitors. Our unique defrost process means we get better performance in thecritical temperature range of between -2°C & +2°C because our unitsgo into defrost mode less often. For example, when the outside temperature is -2°C the our 9kW heatpump is 20% more efficient than a typical alternative (see graph opposite).

(COP is the ratio of heat produced vs energy used. ie, a COP of 4 means the heat pumpproduces 4 units of heat for every 1 unit of energy used to power the heat pump)

While a central air conditioning or a refrigeration system cools air/water, it creates excess waste heat in the process by removing both heatfrom within the building and excess heat from the compressor(s) which would normally be discharged into the atmosphere. With a HRS (HeatRecovery System) the expelled waste heat is diverted through our vented double-wall heat exchanger safely heating either a hot watercylinder, being reintroduced as controlled space heating or even contributing the free energy into heating a swimming pool, dramaticallyreducing costs and carbon emissions with typical ROI’s achievable within 3 years.

Design and install of your heat recovery systemDesigning and installing a heat recovery system is bespoke to each site, its imperative that the heat exchanger (desuperheater) is correctlydesigned and built to suit the existing plant. Since the desuperheater is removing heat from pressurised gas, it has to be able to recover theexcess heat without restricting or condensing the gas, but still able to recover enough useable heat.

Improved compressor life and greater A/C or refrigeration efficiencyIn addition to free heat and hot water, our Heat Recovery Systems also deliver extended compressor life on existing units along withimproved A/C or refrigeration efficiency by increasing the condensing capability, reducing the load and energy usage by up to 15%. Our heatrecovery technology can be implemented into most existing systems with cooling equipment upwards of 4kw (typical walk in fridge freezer).

Heat Recovery and Renewable EnergyHeat Recovery could be considered a greener option as it is utilising waste heat otherwise being dispersed into the atmosphere and addingto global warming. As a HRS improves the efficiency of the existing plant, it will always be carbon negative regardless of the output. If the hotwater/heating demand is greater than the heat recovery system supply, combining heat recovery with a solar or heat pump system is ideal.

Compact Heat Recovery UnitThe compact Heat Recovery Unit (HRU) is ideal for smaller application requirements, capturing waste heat discharged from the refrigerantcycle in air conditioning, refrigeration or heat pumps and transfers that heat into a hot water cylinder. This again improves the coolingefficiency and extends the life expectancy of the air conditioner, refrigeration unit or heat pump units. Most refrigeration systems up to 20 ton with standard pipe sizes can use the compact heat recovery units (HRU). Being wall mounted with abuilt in circulation pump and controls, compact HRU's can be installed with minimum disruption. Each compact single HRU uses only 90-113 w/h but can produce between 240-420 litres of free hot water per hour, depending on therefrigeration system.HRU’s can be cascaded for particular applications where multiple smaller refrigeration units are being used. Each refrigeration cycle cantherefore be separate, but the water circuits connected, saving installation, time, space and materials.

Not a new TechnologyThe “greener option” recommended by the Carbon Trust, Heat recovery from refrigeration or desuperheating as it is sometimes called, is nota new technology, it has been common practice in North America, Scandinavia and Germany for decades.

25+ years life expectancyA heat recovery system is in itself very simple and so long as well maintained, should last well beyond 25+ years. The system has only onemoving part (a circulation pump) which makes it extremely reliable and durable.

Typical benefiting environments forHeat Recovery:● Manufacturing● Food & Drink production● Supermarkets, Convenience stores● Hotels, Resturants, Pubs● Hospitals, Nursing Homes● Offices, Schools● Leisure centres, Swimming pools● Abattoirs

Your Energy solar pv

Solar panel electricity systems, also known as solar photovoltaics (PV), capture the sun's energy using and convert the sunlight intoelectricity which can then be used to run household appliances and lighting. These cells don't need direct sunlight to work, they can stillgenerate some electricity even on a cloudy day. The photovoltaic cells are made from layers of semi-conducting material, usually silicon, when light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers, the stronger the sunshine, the more electricity is produced.

Our significant experience means we can design the best performing solarsystem for your home or business taking into account, location, orientation andpitch of your roof. Choosing the right components for your system is crucial tomaximizing its performance we use only Tier One products working with differ-ent manufactures to ensure we provide the best solution for your home orbusiness.

If you require installation, we can provide quotations. Our associated install teams are highly experienced in all factors of solar pvensuring a peace of mind process from start to finish. An initial free assessment survey will be conducted on your property, providing a no obligation quotation based on your properties specific needs and requirements. Once agreed we then manage theentire process from install through to assisting with the handling of your Feed-In Tariff application with your energy provider, including the provision of MCS qualification and provision of a free EPC.

The benefits of solar electricityCut your electricity bills. Sunlight is free, so once you've paid for theinitial installation, your electricity costs will be reduced.Get paid for the electricity you generate. The Feed-in Tariff scheme(FIT’s) pays you for the electricity you generate, even if you use it!Cut your carbon footprint. Solar electricity is green renewable ener-gy and doesn't release any harmful carbon dioxide or other pollut-ants. A typical home solar PV system could save over a tonne and ahalf of carbon dioxide per year – that's more than 30 tonnes overits lifetime.

Solar panels v tilesThe power of a PV cell is measured in kilowatts peak (kWp) which is the rate itgenerates energy at peak performance in full direct sunlight. PV cells come in avariety of shapes and sizes. Most PV systems are made up of panels that fit ontop of an existing roof, but you can also fit solar tiles. Solar tiles are designed tobe used in place of ordinary roof tiles, though this is usually not as cost-effectiveas panels, typically costing around double of an equivalent panel system. Solartile systems are usually only considered for aesthetic or planning reasons.

Kilowatt hours of electricity produced and Co₂ savings per yearA 4kWp system can generate around 3,800 kilowatt hours of electricity ayear in the south of England saving nearly two tonnes of carbon dioxideevery year. A 4kWp system in Scotland can generate about 3,200 kilowatthours of electricity a year saving more than a tonne and a half of carbondioxide every year.

MaintenanceOnce fitted, your installer should leave written details of any maintenance checks to be carried out to ensure optimum performance. Thisshould include details of the main inverter fault signals and key trouble-shooting guidance.Solar PV needs little maintenance – you'll just need to keep the panels relatively clean and make sure trees don't begin to overshadowthem. Panels that are tilted at 15° or more have the additional benefit of being cleaned by rainfall to ensure optimal performance.Panels should last 25 years or more, but the inverter is likely to need replacing some time during this period.

Your Energy pv battery storage

premium quality, premium performing equipment, dedicated technical & design support

Solar battery storage systems are the perfect solution to utilise your self generated free solar power. By installing a battery system, youwill be able to monitor, optimise and manage how you use the power you’ve generated in your home or property. A Your Energy StorageSystem stores excess renewable energy power in a Lithium battery storage pack, which can then be used when the PV panels are notgenerating. This simple system can be retrofit to most standard Solar PV installations.

EVEN THE STORED ELECTRICITY STILL GOES THROUGH THE GENERATION METER,so you will continue to receive payment for it, the renewable electrical energypower simply comes from the battery storage system as it is required.

As FIT cuts continue, the future is all about energy utilisation, focusingusers to get smart about the PV energy they are producing beforeselling it back to the grid, enabling you to make the most use of thefree solar you produce each day. At Your Energy we only supplyhigh-end battery storage system options that will help you effectivelyand easily keep track of the power you have generated.

Battery management systems can provide up to 4kw of usableenergy. The battery pack has its own inbuilt managementsystem which manages the usage, temperature and perform-ance of the battery enabling best lifetime performance possi-ble. The Lithium Battery Packs can be fully charged in 2 ½hours, the more PV energy produced, the more residual powerwill be available to charge the Battery.

There are 3 main parts to the battery storage system - The Controller, Batterypack and Sensor.

The Controller will prioritise energy demands, first priority is given to theproperty, followed by the battery management storage system and lastly anysurplus power will be exported to the grid. Often you will have a combinationof functions going on – power to the house, excess to the battery managementsystem and residual to the grid.

The battery storage system stores DC electricity straightfrom the PV panels into a Lithium battery storage pack. AsPV energy power is generated throughout daylight, the con-troller manages the available renewable energy power andensures the most efficient use of the PV generated power.

A Sensor is attached to the AC supply of the property which then providesthe information as to the flow of electricity in and out of the property, allowing the Controller to manage the newly generated DC power.

If you have a wireless router in the property you canconnect via Wifi, remotely linking you to an online moni-toring platform which will allow full information access todaily, weekly and monthly performance of your energyback up system, also available via an iphone app.

As with all installations a good survey is essential to maximise the efficiency potential of a system.

From standard domestic to renewables and large commercial bespoke applications, our cylinders can be made, at no extracost, to your exact specification requirements, delivered to your door in 48 hours. Manufacturing for over 30 years, ourhighly skilled exacting engineers use only the finest grade stainless steel and copper, industry leading coil lengths andinsulation thermal values, providing optimum efficiency performance and quality in our cylinders, exceeding WRAS andbuilding regulations.

We are so confident in the construction of our domestic Stainless Steel cylinders that we offer a lifetime guarantee* on theStainless Steel cylinder bodies and two years on all parts.

Selecting the correct size of cylinder requires consideration of a number of variables, including the volume of waterrequired, the energy source and the space available, our Technical Support team is on hand to guide and assist.

Vented/Unvented

Formed from recyclable Duplex 2304 Stainless Steel finished using a wipe-clean, white coated steel case. Until recentlyDuplex 2304 Stainless Steel was reserved for use in chemical and oil refinery processes, the anti corrosion properties ofDuplex are greater than those afforded by other grades of stainless steel used in cylinder production. Vented cylinders alsoavailable in copper and blue foam insulation finish.

IMMERSION HEATERS are standard with all the models (two on direct and single coil) with low noise high grade Incoloyelements and safety cut outs. (Titanium immersion heaters are available for an additional cost).

Thermal Store

This system is highly efficient with minimum heat loss. The water in the cylinder ‘the store’ is heated via a suitably sizedheat source such as solar thermal or alternative renewables system to and maintained at 76°C. Mains pressure cold wateris fed through a heat exchanger in ‘the store’ (a high efficiency coil). The heated water is blended with cold mains waterand supplied to the taps at a thermostatically controlled 51°C.

Thermal stores do not require G3 Building Control Notification and unlike other stored mains pressure systems no specialqualifications are required to install the unit.

A Thermal store has an extremely high recovery rate enabling it to produce an almost unlimited supply of domestic hotwater. Because it stores cooler water in the lower part it enables the option to supply additional heat sources such asunderfloor heating directly without mixing sets thus increasing the efficiency of the whole system.

The ability to control a number of heat sources provides the unique ability to optimise energy use and greatly reduces the

Your Energy underfloor heating

Why Underfloor HeatingThe underfloor heating systems of today are extremelyefficient reducing energy consumption by using lowerwater temperatures, providing superior room comfortand control, heat is more evenly distributed eliminatingcold spots and dust is not circulated.

Underfloor heating gently warms the air above, the warm air convects fromthe floor surface losing approximately just 2°C at 2.0 meters, which makesthe system ideal for all ceiling heights. Independent tests reveal that themost acceptable indoor climate is one in which the floor temperatureranges between 19-29°C and the air temperature at head level rangesbetween 20 and 24°C perfectly matching an underfloor heating systemperformance, unlike conventional radiators or convector heating systemswhich radiate the warm air up to the ceiling which then cools and dropsproducing colder temperatures at foot level than head height.

Water underfloor heating explainedA water-based underfloor heating system is a series of pipes laid under thefloor to a manifold and heated via a boiler, though combining with arenewable energy heat source such as biomass boiler, solar water heatingor perfectly suits the performance characteristics of an air source heatpump. System are connected to a thermostat to regulate temperature.

The floor needs to be prepared and insulated to make the system workefficiently and needs taking into account, especially if being retrofitted.Because of this, it's easier to install water underfloor heating in a newbuild, however, a low profile underfloor system option allows installationwithout considerably raising the floor.

The Energy Saving Trust says a water underfloor heating system is typicallymore energy efficient than a radiator system due to using water at lowertemperatures and heat being emitted and distributed more evenly.

Electric underfloor heating explainedIn an electric underfloor heating system, a series of electric wires are installedbeneath or within your flooring.

The electric system you install will depend on the size of the room and how wellinsulated it is, what the flooring below it is like and whether it is insulated, andthe type of flooring you'll have on top. Options include loose-fit wiring flexibleenough to fit into small or awkward spaces, electric cable systems, or heatingmats you roll out to cover larger areas.

Because electric systems are generally quite thin and simple to fit, they can beeasier and less hassle to install in an existing room than a wet heating system, which requires some space for pipe work and could involve the floor being raised.

Electric underfloor heating is cheaper to install than a wet system - you can evendo it yourself - but it's more expensive to run, prompting it is not recommend forlarger areas.

A qualified electrician will need to connect your system to your electric mainssupply, and fit a sensor that connects to the thermostat. This allows you tocontrol the temperature and pre-set the system to turn on or off.
