Nyalic Coating + General Care Precautions

Please read the following instructions to ensure your clear coat

protectant is applied under the best possible conditions to ensure

long-lasting, permanent results.

The application temperature should be between 55°F

and 95°F (12.8°C – 35°C) with the dew point and

temperature not less than 5°F (3°C) difference. The

warmer the temperature in this range, the better the

coating will cure. Application at temperatures below

55°F (12.8°C) may result in peeling or may cause

moisture to be trapped in the coating resulting in a

white or cloudy appearance.

Do not apply Nyalic in the hot sunlight or if the surface

is hot to your hand. Surface temperatures above 120°F

(48.9°C) may result in inadequate product flow or dry

spots from the solvent flashing off too quickly.

To avoid streaking marks, do not allow the cleaners to

dry on the surface.

Test your decals to make sure that Nyalic does not

adversely affect them. Use the aerosol can, and spray a

small area of a decal to make sure that the Nyalic does

not smear or lift the decal.

Wear safety glasses or a face shield at all times when

cleaning, rinsing, using blowers, air compressors,

sprayers, and when working around chemicals and

mechanical equipment.

Wear NIOSH-approved respirators when working

around any paint or coating that is sprayed or in

locations where fumes may accumulate.

Wear appropriate clothing and gloves to keep

cleaners and coatings off your skin.

No smoking or open flames in the coating area or in

a coating and chemical storage area.

Refer to local, state, and federal regulations for the

proper disposal method of empty containers and

supplies used to prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and

clean up equipment.

Instructions

START WITH AN INSPECTION AND PANEL REMOVAL.

Even painted surfaces of new tractors may have a variety

of chemicals on them, including polish, wax and cleaner

residues. To ensure proper adhesion of Nyalic, all surface

residues must be removed entirely. Here’s how to get

started.

Park your tractor in your wash area.

Remove panels. This allows for access to the engine

bay, cooling systems, transmission, and hydraulic

systems of the tractor and allows you to coat the

backsides of the panels. Place these panels on a

wooden pallet.

If you are applying Nyalic to an older tractor, test the level of paint chalking by wetting your finger and

wiping the painted surface vigorously. If you do not

see a lot of chalking on your finger, use the Simple

Prep™ method to clean the surface. If you see a lot of

oxidized paint on your finger, it will be necessary to

use the Tuff Prep™ method to clean the surface.

Make sure to tightly close all doors, windows, and

roof vents on your equipment. We do not recommend

coating the interior of the operator cabin or the

window glass.

Page 8: YOUR COMPLETE GUIDE FOR Applying Nyalic® · Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket, mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and

TIME TO CLEAN AND REMOVE CHALKING.

OPTION 1: NEW TRACTORS

First, wipe off excess grease from fittings and joints

with a white paper towel to avoid spreading grease

during the wash process. Next, rinse your tractor with

fresh water.

Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket,

mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and 3

quarts of clean, hot, fresh water. Wet the surface of

the tractor with water. Use the scrub brush and the

Simple Prep to wash small sections of the tractor

to remove loose debris and surface dirt. DO NOT USE THE SIMPLE PREP TO CLEAN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. Periodically check the brush to

make sure that grease, etc. does not stick to the

brush. If any grease is noticed, clean the brush.

Use the white scrub pads and the Simple Prep to

remove difficult black streaks. Rinse thoroughly

with fresh water.

Be sure to clean both sides of your panels and any

other parts that you removed.

See the next page for option 2.8

02.

HINT: If available,

use a hot water

pressure washer for

the initial surface

cleaning.

This will help

remove grease and

grime that might

contaminate soaps

and brushes.

Page 9: YOUR COMPLETE GUIDE FOR Applying Nyalic® · Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket, mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and

OPTION 2: USED TRACTORS

Remove major chalking with Nyalic Tuff Prep™: Wet the surface of your tractor with

water. Shake or stir the Tuff Prep jug to make

sure that the product is properly mixed. Use

the white pads and the Tuff Prep™ gel to

lightly scrub small sections to remove loose

debris, surface dirt, and chalking.

Periodically check the pad to make sure

that grease, etc., does not stick to the pad.

If any grease is noticed, clean the pad.

Keep the surface damp, and do not allow

the Tuff Prep™ to dry on the surface. Rinse

thoroughly with fresh water.

NOTE: You may notice a white powder

on the ground after using Tuff Prep. This

powder is pumice and is biodegradable. It

can be washed or blown away.

Be sure to clean your panels and any other

parts that you removed.

After the tractor has been washed with the

Simple Prep or Tuff Prep and the tractor

has been thoroughly rinsed off, empty any

remaining Simple Prep from the bucket and

clean out the bucket with fresh water.

HINT: Use the pressure washer to wash out

the bucket and the scrub brush.

9

Page 10: YOUR COMPLETE GUIDE FOR Applying Nyalic® · Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket, mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and

WASH WITH RIGHT RINSE.

In the wash bucket, mix one quart of Right Rinse with three quarts of warm water. (Using a garden pump sprayer

for this process allows you to spray

Right Rinse onto the engine and into the

engine compartment for cleaning).

Wet the surface of the tractor with water. Use the scrub brush and Right

Rinse to wash the tractor to remove any

remaining debris and to remove any soap

film. Spray Right Rinse in the engine

compartment. Rinse with plenty of fresh

water.

Test the surface for cleanliness. Apply

water to the surface and check to see

that the water sheets off of the surface.

If the water beads up or runs around a

spot, the tractor is not entirely clean. Re-

clean the area of the tractor that shows

signs of contamination.

Be sure to wash your panels and any

other parts that you removed.

After the tractor has been washed, dry the surface completely. Remember to

dry the panels.

10

03.

HINT: If available, use

filtered shop air or an

electric leaf blower to get

water out of areas that

may later seep out and

drip onto the fresh Nyalic

coating. Do not use a

gas powered blower to

avoid oil contamination

on the clean surface.

Page 11: YOUR COMPLETE GUIDE FOR Applying Nyalic® · Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket, mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and

DRY IT PROPERLY.

Move the tractor inside to a covered area (a paint

booth is preferable). If inside, elevate the temperature to

about 90°F (32.2° C) if possible. The temperature must

be above 55°F (12.8°C). Place the Nyalic in the same

area as the tractor to let the product warm to the same

temperature as the tractor.

If possible, leave the tractor overnight to dry and warm. If not, allow at least 2 hours for drying and warming and

before applying Nyalic.

Before applying Nyalic, inspect the surface. If you notice

any water marks, remove them using a plain white paper

towel and BOTTLED water (not mineral water).

11

Page 12: YOUR COMPLETE GUIDE FOR Applying Nyalic® · Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket, mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and

APPLY NYALIC.

For smaller, hard-to-reach areas and the engine

compartment, begin with aerosol Nyalic.

DO NOT SHAKE THE AEROSOL CAN, or it will create

air bubbles in the coating. However, if you do see any

bubbles leave them alone, and they will disappear as

the coating dries.

Use the Nyalic aerosol to lightly spray Nyalic around

difficult to reach areas and on all fittings, fasteners,

metal overlaps, leading edges and especially electrical

connections. Be sure to coat the engine compartment.

NOTE: The red nozzle tip can be rotated 90 degrees

to change the fan pattern from horizontal to vertical to

facilitate a more effective application.

Finish the job by spraying liquid Nyalic

in a HVLP sprayer.

IMPORTANT: Care should be taken to ensure no

contamination from previous paint media or solvents

from within the spray equipment, or paint lines

remain in the system. These contaminants will cause

problems with the application of Nyalic. If in doubt,

we recommend that a new, inexpensive HVLP sprayer

be acquired for exclusive use in applying Nyalic.

We recommend a thorough cleaning of the spray

equipment, both before and after coating, with xylene

or acetone. We also advise filters for your air lines for both oil contaminants and water.

12

04.

Page 13: YOUR COMPLETE GUIDE FOR Applying Nyalic® · Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket, mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and

For optimum results, preheat the surface to be coated to at least

room temperature or up to 90°F (32.2°C). Also, warm the Nyalic in

the booth or spray area to the same temperature. If coating outside,

ensure that the surface temperature is above 55°F (12.8°C) but below

120°F (48.9°C).

Nyalic can be sprayed with a variety of spray guns; however, because

Nyalic is about as viscous as water, it must be sprayed with a fine

finish fluid tip (1.0mm – 1.4mm) with a fan pattern nozzle. Select an air

cap that gives the best atomization with this needle size. Nyalic must

be applied in a thin coat to avoid runs and sags. DO NOT use a garden

tank pump sprayer to apply Nyalic.

HINT: Inexpensive spray guns are available at most hardware and

home improvement stores. If you do not have an air compressor, the

electric Wagner Pro Sprayers work quite well.

For the best appearance and to achieve effective corrosion protection,

spray liquid Nyalic over the body, engine compartment and larger

areas of your tractor. Be sure to spray Nyalic on the radiator, inner

coolers, electrical connections and all major components. Do not

spray on windows. Remember to use ventilation while spraying, as

Nyalic can fog an enclosed space.

Take your time and lightly apply the Nyalic 8-10” from the surface at

about 1 second per foot to ensure no excessive overlapping that may

produce runs. If the Nyalic does not appear to flow out evenly and you

notice runs, immediately dampen a plain white, lint-free paper towel

with Nyalic and lightly wipe through the run. Feathering a second pass

will even out any wipe marks. This technique ensures that the surface

tension is broken and forces Nyalic into the pores of the surface. At

this point, don’t worry if the Nyalic appears somewhat uneven; the

product is self-leveling and will flow out as it dries. Equipment cleanup

is simple using xylene or acetone.

13

Page 14: YOUR COMPLETE GUIDE FOR Applying Nyalic® · Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket, mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and

ALLOW YOUR NYALIC TO CURE PROPERLY.

The Nyalic coating will be dry to the touch in about 30 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity. If using a paint booth, allow the surface to dry for one

hour before moving the tractor out of the booth. After

one hour in the booth, move the tractor out but keep it

covered and at room temperature.

After 24 hours you should be able to lightly handle the surfaces if necessary. Panels can be reinstalled at this

time. Once reinstalled and the fasteners are tight, use the

Nyalic aerosol to spray the fastener heads.

Let the unit sit for no less than 48 hours to allow the Nyalic to cure. During cool weather months,Nyalic-

coated surfaces must remain above 55°F for five (5)

days. These parameters must be considered and followed

before transporting your tractor because windchill can

drastically lower the surface temperature.

Page 15: YOUR COMPLETE GUIDE FOR Applying Nyalic® · Remove minor chalking or wash a new tractor with Nyalic Simple Prep™: In a 5-gallon bucket, mix 1 quart of Simple Prep (degreaser) and

APPLY THE CLEAR NYALIC WRAP TO FITTINGS LOCATED IN HIGH PHYSICAL WEAR AREAS.

Step 1: Identify the fitting that you want to wrap. Make

sure that the Nyalic-coated surface has set for 24 hours.

DO NOT APPLY THE WRAP TO A NYALIC-COATED SURFACE THAT IS NOT TACK FREE.

Step 2: Place the wrap on the fitting approximately ⅛” to

¼” below the end of the fitting. Holding the wrap firmly

and keeping good tension on the wrap, stretch the wrap

completely around the fitting.

Step 3: Continue to stretch tape and wrap the entire

fitting by overlapping each layer by ½”. Make sure to

wrap the tape over itself so that the tape fuses to itself.

Step 4: Wrap the tape completely over the fitting, ending

the wrap approximately ⅛” to ¼” above the end of the

fitting. Cut the tape and press the end firmly into place.

NOTE: In hard to access tight areas, it is acceptable to

use short (6”- 8”) pieces of the tape to wrap fittings. If

one piece is not enough to completely wrap a fitting,

use a second piece of tape to finish wrapping the fitting.

When using a second piece of tape, start the second

piece 1” below the end of previous piece to make sure

that the wrap completely covers the fitting and fuses to

the first piece.

Step 5: In order to make sure the wrap holds in place,

finish with one stripe of electrical tape or Gorilla tape.

Removing Nyalic

We get it, sometimes you need a re-do. Here’s what you need to

know about removing Nyalic clear coat to do it successfully.

If necessary, Nyalic can be removed by wetting a white paper

towel with xylene (purchased at most paint and hardware stores)

and wiping firmly. Use caution with xylene; it could affect painted

surfaces and decals.

16

SECTION FIVE

ADDITIONAL CAUTIONS

The application of Nyalic outside of any of the recommended

parameters for temperature, humidity, and time risks failure of the

application.

To avoid streaking, do not allow the cleaners to dry on the surface.

The storage of a Nyalic-coated surface outside of any of the

recommended parameters for temperature, humidity, and time risks

failure of the application. If a moisture event is expected (rain, snow,

dew), do not put the machine outside before the recommended

storage time.

AFTER APPLICATION

Avoid getting your new Nyalic coating wet for 48 hours.

Placing a plastic covering on your tractor will cause the coating to stop

curing and/or cause the plastic covering to stick to the coating. The

surface will then always remain sticky, and the product will have to be

removed and reapplied.

After coating, and only if necessary, rinse the tractor with fresh water

and do not scrub the surface for the first two weeks of service.

CAUTIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS

Do not wax, polish, or buff a Nyalic-coated surface; doing so

will dull and damage the coating. Do not use strong alkali or

solvent-based cleaners on a Nyalic-coated surface, they are

not needed; doing so will damage the coating.

It is strongly suggested to avoid the use of recycled water

to wash a Nyalic-coated surface, especially if you are

not certain that the water is free of all chemical solvent

contaminants. These materials can dull or damage your

Nyalic coating.

We recommend that you periodically inspect the coating

for scrapes, scratches, or fuel spills, and repair any damaged

area promptly.

To clean a Nyalic-coated surface, we recommend one quart

Right Rinse mixed with three quarts warm water. Wet the

surface and then use a soft bristle brush to lightly scrub

the surface, removing dirt and contaminants. Rinse with

plenty of clean water. Nyalic coated surfaces only require a

garden hose and Right Rinse brushing to float debris from

the surface. We do not recommend washing with pressure

washers because pressures vary, and it is easy to get too

close with the high-pressure spray and cause permanent

damage to the coating.
