For the next several weeks we need every freedom-loving voter actively engaged to make sure we elect Republicans to serve at every level of government. It goes without saying the choices are clear between President Trump and the Democrats’ national agenda. As the recent riots and violence across the nation have demonstrated, it is now more important than ever to also focus on electing Republicans at the local level. Respecting and maintaining law and order begins at the municipal and county level. Electing qualified, principled, responsible candidates
to constitutional offices, the county commission and the state legislature will help ensure what has happened across the nation, and most recently in St. Petersburg, will not happen again.
The Pinellas GOP needs you to help in this effort and to get started today. There are several opportunities for volunteering. The Trump Campaign and local Republican candidates need volunteers to canvass neighborhoods and make phone calls. The Pinellas GOP needs more volunteers to hand out ballot recommendations at early voting sites and at the precincts on election day and drivers to assist voters in getting to the polls for early and election day voting. Please call the GOP office at 727-539-6009 to sign up.
Also, please utilize text, email, Twitter, Face Book or Instagram to get the message out to vote for Larry Ahern and Tammy Vasquez for County Commission and Stephanie Meyer for Pinellas County School Board. Those races, in particular, have high stakes for the future of the county and its education system.
From now through Election Day, sign waving can be very effective for local candidates’ name recognition. Take the initiative to invite a few friends to join you at a busy intersection in your area for a couple of hours during a morning or afternoon drive time. Saturday mornings are a great time also. You can pick up signs from the GOP office or from your candidate of choice. We are ready to assist you with organizing and advertising any such event.

Please pass this information along to those wanting guidance on non-partisan positions, Constitutional Amendments and judicial retention. Vice Chairman’s Message
Traveling through Colorado, seeing this beautiful state and meeting a few of its citizens made me realize how similar we as active citizens feel about what is happening to our country. Law and order, taxes, regulations and the economy reign supreme as issues that are of concern. Another important issue is liberty. Is it slipping away from us?
I have had the distinct pleasure of seeing more Trump-Pence signs and flags than that of their opponents in Colorado. For the second time, a recall petition for the removal of Governor Polis of Colorado for his oil and gas regulations, gun control measures, sex education in public schools and the extension of a statewide mask mandate is being circulated.
College students are on lockdown due to new COVID 19 cases. To quote from the Colorado Sun (September 14, 2020): "People are madder than hell this time out,” Merschel, a Republican who lives in Grand Junction, said in an interview on Monday when asked how he plans to collect the signatures needed to force a recall election. “I mean, the high schoolers can’t play football, but the Denver Broncos can.”
Will there be consequences? As Floridians, we chose both Governor Ron DeSantis
and a Republican controlled State House and Senate. May the same happen in Colorado.

America’s marriage to the embraced and exported term of “race” now challenges the heart of the nation’s governing structures and systems with “race wars”. As inflammatory rhetoric flies from one person against another, the Democratic Party has mastered the usage of a term developed from America’s barbaric division of people by non-existent anatomical structure and purported character qualities. The Republican Party, while still using the classifications for get-out-the-vote (GOTV) campaigns, has mastered levels of indifference to the harm the classifications spark in the nation’s conscious. Despite the fact that the American Association of Physical Anthropologists deems the term “race” obsolete, finding that there is no basis in human biology for its use , the nation perpetuates the myth through every employment or school application, birth certificates, professional license, corporate filing, census re-districting and even our vote. The idea utilized to enslave the captives of other nations and elevate purported superiority of British ancestry is alive and well in America. Decent, hardworking people are stuck in a two-century old narrative and wonder why daily news reports tout the increasing separation, not by class, culture or color, but by race. Cultural norms and prejudices have been developed by “race”, (structural inequality) to obscure humanity and embrace “racism”. As long as America was homogenous with few people of Italians, German, Asians, Spanish, Jewish or African descent, there was an understanding of “class” — those with economic superiority. Only 55 years ago did Congress in 1965 seek to undue the bi-partisan Immigration Act of 1924 which embedded quotas, seeking to safeguard the “racial” and ethnic composition of the Anglo-Saxon Model. In order to accurately discern the political ideology of sects of people, we must embrace things that are real. First, the economic class or ruling class is a factor that changes the experience of the voter and diminishes most other aspects of their voting prowess. This is the reason we monitor the financial originators and instigators when great donations are made for inventions or non-organic riots or tumult are sparked in the general populous. Although the heritage of over 80 percent of “African-Americans” emerge from slavery, recent leaders like Senator Kamala Harris and Former President Barak Obama do not share the taint of their forefather being chattel or considered as a possession. Colors, whether a shade of caramel, pecan tan or dark chocolate, are all associated with being “black” in America, and distinctions are discernable in sectors like education and employment. This is the reason discrimination statutes include the term “color” as a basis for disparities in treatment. If not race, then what is the best way to know a political constituency? As you travel around Pinellas County you should see lots of 4’ x 8’ Trump/Pence 2020 signs, and we are indebted to some wonderful men who volunteered to install them. When the call went out that the Trump Campaign had provided us with 50 large signs and we needed men with trucks who could pick them up from the lumber yard where a generous donor had them framed, these four men stepped up and completed the task in record time.
Pinellas County is 38 miles long and 15 miles wide at its widest point, so we divided the work into three areas. Signs in upper Pinellas were installed by Bob Owens (assisted by helpers Dan and Dave), mid-county signs were installed by Chris Dunbar and John Dunbar and south county by Ed Poncel and a helper. In a few cases the signs were ripped down by vandals and had to be replaced, but our guys were willing to go right back out and put them back up. They did this as volunteers, completely at their own expense and on their own time.
We are also appreciative of the many property owners who were willing to take a public stand to support our president. As we live in unprecedented times of an insidious cancel culture, it takes a lot of courage to risk ones livelihood in defense of freedom of expression.
As we move into the waning weeks of this campaign, more opportunities for volunteers to help with projects such as this will occur. Please be ready to step up as these men have done and victory will be ours!
and ethnicity). Knowing the nation of origin and the ethnic group within that nations reveals more about entrenched biases and philosophies of life. When a black or brown person of Jamaican, Philippine or Mediterranean descent arrives in America, it is an insult to not acknowledge the nation of their birth; it is a recipe for failure to presume now that this voter merges into the African-American “race” by experience or ideology. The options for filling out statistical data on forms are only by color. We even have an absurd classification for Hispanic-Black. Being an American is an ideology. It is a unifying call toward freedom and liberty for all. “One nation under God.” Former President Bush said that although “we are not united by blood, birth or soil … we are united by ideals that move us beyond our backgrounds, lift us above our interests and teach us what it means to be citizens.” In every call for voters to shift their party affiliation, as Republicans we can no longer cower to mythical prescripts use the Marxist tactics of pitting one group against another, but utilize the great “we” as the classification under which our ideals and set of values will win.
