feature of the DHT will be YOUR TEN BEST, and we encourage you to be a part of it. Essentially, it is a Top 10 list – in no particular order – that is relevant to you and your community. Through social media tools, we asked readers to submit their Ten Best songs with the word RAIN in the title. This is in tribute to our June/July weather which has been moist, damp, a deluge, soggy, and any number of other synonyms for wet.Our choice list is from
GP’s Anita Farnsworth who came up with a pretty eclectic - and meteorologically - correct list. Thanks Anita!

come from Eunice Friesen, who shares her images as she was part of a small team of Grande Prairie women who travelled to North Kinangop, Kenya, to volunteer in varying capacities at Hope Community Centre. Hope C.C. is an orphanage that is well supported by a number of Grande Prairie residents. Thanks for your
kind work and great pictures, Eunice!

Today, DHT sports scribe Ivan Danielewicz - in honour of the Winnipeg Jets unveiling the team’s new logo (above) – gives us his 10 Best hockey logos of all time - According to him, anyway.Feel free to respond.
In a league of revolving door team logos, this nearly 100-year-old logo one has continued to inspire tradition and glory.
Montreal Canadiens
Loved this logo, one of the more effective letter and symbol combinations on an NHL jersey.
Hartford WHalers
Simple, very, very simple; but it was striped jersey that really completed the look of this early 20th century logo.

The 1938 to 1967, and the team’s current third, jersey logo has always brought back a nostalgia to the good old days of the Leafs.
toronto Maple leafs
Another logo that depicts tradition and glory in its fans; it’s a blue-collar logo for a blue-collar city.
detroit red Wings
While it’s seen a number of small changes since its first inception in 1926, the Hawks logo easily stands as one of the best designs in the NHL.
CHiCago BlaCkHaWks
This one hurts, especially as a Calgary Flames fan, but the logo has a great design without being too cluttered.

All-time leader in goals and points. And as I found out playing with him in an oldtimers game in Fort Mac, someone with as little talent as me could even score a few goals with him as center.
Dale HawercHuk
Gave the WHA Jets instant credibility when he signed with them – backed it up on ice with 4, 50+ goal and 100+ point seasons – 3 WHA titles, en route to the Jets being accepted into the NHL.
BoBBY Hull
76 goals as a rookie and one of the most likeable players in Jets history (note to Kevin Cheveledayoff - he is still available as a free agent).
teemu selanne

Never had fewer than 114 points in any of his four seasons with the WHA Jets. He and Hedberg played a big part in extending Hull’s career.
ulf nilsson
A rarity in sports today - played his entire career with the Jets and excelled in the process. And unlike most Jets of the past, he stayed in the ‘Peg after his career where he is now a city councillor.
tHomas steen
Like him or not (and several Jets’ fans did not after his contract dispute with the club), Tkachuk was a rarity with the Jets - one of only 3 players (Hawerchuk and Selanne the others) to score 50 goals in a season with the NHL Jets.
keitH tkacHuk
Was a steadying force on what was otherwise a young Jets’ blueline in the ‘80s and early ‘90s. Then moved behind the bench as an assistant once playing career was done.
