- Cultural awareness (both teachers and students)

- Comparing best European practices as well as implementing new

PROJECT AIMS

To create awareness regarding media usage

- understand how media shapes society

-to develop critical thinking regarding the information pupils receive through media

-To explore the possibilities and threats of media usage

-To develop a critical approach towards media messages based on their own experience, skills ,beliefs and values

-To identify similarities and differences in practices used in different European countries in terms of media literacy

-to develop their skills in creating media in content with respect to human rights

-develop training methods and innovative scenarios for the development of media literacy

World Press Freedom Day

3rd of May, 2018A journalist came to school to talk to students

about the concept of freedom of the press, but

also about internet safety, and media addiction.

government on the importance of

accurately delivering the news for the

benefit of the local citizens.

councilor to talk to parents about the perils of abuse of

technology, and about media addiction

They developed skills, like team work, communication skills, foreign languages, problem solving;

They became better used to ICT tools to tackle current issues with peers from other parts of Europe;

They became more aware of media literacy issues, and showed more critical thinking about media content;

They became more interested in school activities

They became more interested in other European cultures

They experienced learning situations different from the curriculum based ones

Students developed more interest in European issues.

They developed an interest in their own continuous education.

Better understanding of the place of the Romanian school system in the context of European education;

School is considering introducing a local curriculum (optional course) on media addiction

Impact on the community at large

Our experience has inspired other schools to address local problem by

accessing Erasmus+ projects;

Parents, and other people indirectly involved now have better

communication and problem solving skills, and a better cultural

understanding of European issues.

There is a sense of commitment in all the participants which was brought

about by the implementation of the project

The community as a whole has become more aware of issues related to

media literacy.
