The mallet part is written for both xylophone and bells, however, bells may be used exclusively if a xylophone is unavailable. I have written an optional tom-tom part beginning in measure 28. This part is designed to be played only if timpani are not available. I hope that you and your ensemble ﬁnd Fanfare for a New Age to be a worthwhile musical experience.
