science department and assigned to ceramics engineering; invited to CS major his junior year

Lesser known founder of YouTube; pursued M.S. in Computer Science at Stanford University after PayPal

PAYPAL Founded in 1998, invented a quick and easy method for

people and businesses to make and received payments online in real-time, in a secure, global setting

Later bought by eBay for $1.54 billion making their employees rich

Karim showed the site developed in Hurley’s garage to former PayPal executive Keith Rabois, who then showed it to former PayPal chief financial officer Roelof Botha, a partner at Sequoia Capital, who finally convinced Sequoia to invest $8 million into YouTube
