In 1995, Dandy opened for business in Columbus, Ohiotargeting the inlet protection needs of the constructionindustry. Their primary objective to engineer and producethe most complete line of stormwater solutions in theworld drove the rapid expansion of their list of products.

In 2002, Dandy made great strides towards establishingthemselves as an industry leader in stormwater filtrationand inlet protection, when they partnered with Ten CateMirafi, a manufacturer of industrial fabrics & constructionproducts. This relationship provided them with an instantNational Distribution Network and the respectabilitygained from partnering with one of the largest and mostvisible suppliers in construction and development.

As Dandy grew and gained visibility and strength in themarket, a natural shift in their partner needs developed,which lead them to the decision to change their positionand focus to best serve their customers.

With nationwide acceptance and use of their products,inconsistent pricing surfaced as an obstacle to competitivegrowth. The only solution to guaranteeing standardizingpricing was to develop their own distribution network andemerge independent of their partnership with Mirafi. Theresult benefited all, standardized pricing and in many casesreduction in costs due to the simplification of the processand Dandy direct availability to Distributors.

When Colorado Needed Long TermStatewide DevelopmentThey Turned To Dandy

The Challenge:With the new NPDES Storm Water Runoff regulations, theColorado Department of Transportation needed to makesure they were up to code - an ongoing challenge in their7-year reconstruction of Highway I-25.

The Solution:They turned to Southeast Corridor Constructors (Kiewit)and Carter Burgess Engineering who then turned to DandyProducts. Dandy Products were picked for their superiorfiltering capabilities, the variety of products they carried,their bright colors (easy visibility), their low cost and abilityto perform under construction loads.

The Results:Dandy’s inlet protection products were installed throughoutthe project and were used and re-used because they wereproperly maintained – this saved Denver both time andmoney. Performance studies have been done on DandyProducts by the Colorado DOT and the positive resultshave lead them to use more and more Dandy Productson construction projects throughout the state.
