This special issue of Opportunity International magazine features our Medal of Honor, Platinum Million Award, and Ring Club champions for this past year. This is a way to show how much we appreciate these special individuals’ efforts and to recognize them for all of their hard work. This is also the perfect opportunity to reflect on what it takes to become a champion.

Without question, becoming a champion requires a lot of hard work. It also requires you to have a strong vision of what you want to achieve. What do you envision for your future? Does your vision create a passion inside of you?

If you want to become a champion, you need to develop a burning desire to succeed. Champions don’t just have goals; they are passionate about achieving them. When you have passion, discipline is no longer an issue; you do what you do because you want to do it!

Champions are focused, enthusiastic and positive, and they believe. They learn from their failures, they don’t give up; they go the extra mile. Above all of these excellent qualities, a true champion has the ability to bring out these same qualities in others.

The Roots of Stainless Steel

All forms of steel contain iron, a metal

that has been in use for thousands

of years. Iron is strong and can be

shaped or cast into useful tools, but

it is prone to corrosion. That’s why

you find so few examples of iron tools

used in antiquity; they just rusted

away. Improvements to the smelting

process over time resulted in steel,

a hard malleable metal created by

combining iron and carbon. Steel

was better than iron, but the same

problem remained; steel like iron rusts.

What Keeps Stainless Steel “Stainless”?

• Stainless steel is called “stainless” because its protective chromium layer helps prevent it from rusting (or staining). This thin protective layer is impervious to water and air, protecting the metal underneath. The layer can even quickly reform if the metal’s surface is scratched. This phenomenon called “passivation”

protects scratches from rusting.

• Improper use by overheating can damage the protective chromium layer. When overheated, you can see stainless steel change color; from silver to gold to brown to blue and on to black. You are witnessing damage to

the chromium layer.

• Left unattended, a heat damaged stainless steel utensil will rust. The good news is that if the utensil hasn’t started to rust, the stainless steel surface can be restored. Cleaning a utensil damaged by overheating with Rena Lite will restore the shine and allow the chromium in the stainless steel to reform the protective layer.

A Remarkable Discovery

It wasn’t until the early 20th century

that someone discovered that

adding chromium to steel during

smelting created a metal as strong

and malleable as steel, yet also highly

resistant to corrosion. Stainless steel

soon became the metal of choice for

countless applications and products,

including Rena Ware’s world-

famous cookware! Stainless steel is

a remarkable material. With proper

care, it will last a lifetime without

rusting or forming the patina seen on

lesser materials.

How has your life changed since joining?

Before, I lived a modest life with many

limitations. Now I have a house in

Buenos Aires, an office where my

spice stall used to be, and another

office at home with a well-equipped

training room that holds up to 80

people. I know that if I had not

embraced the Opportunity, I would

have not achieved all of these goals.

My whole family is happy about my

Rena Ware business. Three of my

sisters and several nephews are in

my organization, and my daughter

Monica just came to Peru from

Argentina to join.

You earned the Medal of Honor this past year; what does this achievement represent?

GOD has blessed me with the nicest,

hardest working, and the most skillful

people, and earning the Medal of

Honor couldn’t have been possible

without them. I am thankful to

GOD, my Grupo Exito team, and my

Platinum Leader, Nancy Pantoja, who

taught me everything. I have many

more big dreams. I am confident that

I will achieve them with GOD’s help

and by doing the right things.

Marisa Arevalo first became interested in joining Rena Ware so that she could buy the products. When she learned that she could share the Opportunity and grow, and teach others to grow, she knew Rena Ware was the Opportunity for her. “Rena Ware not only gave me the opportunity to increase my earnings,” says Marisa, “it gave me the opportunity to develop a career that allows me to achieve my dreams.”

It took Marisa time to discover that the full potential of the compensation plan lies not on sales alone, but in sharing the Opportunity and in teaching others. “I learned that though sales generated income, they did not allow me to develop personally or give me the opportunity to develop others,” says Marisa. “Setting the goal to promote to Silver was the perfect opportunity to increase my income and achieve financial freedom.”

After the birth of her first child at age 17, Maria Zeledon was offered Rena Ware products. She couldn’t afford them then because her husband made only enough to make ends meet. Years later, after attending a seminar conducted by Carlos Bonilla, she made the decision to join Rena Ware to help her family’s income. “Before Rena Ware, my financial situation was not good,” she says. “Rena Ware has changed my life in two ways: financially, as we have gradually improved our lifestyle, and personally, because family members have joined my work team one by one.”At first, Maria saw Rena Ware as just a way to earn. Over time, her views changed as she personally experienced the many benefits that Rena Ware offers. “Rena Ware is a means to obtaining not only a good income, but also fabulous trips,” she says. “I have always loved to travel, and I have enjoyed many wonderful trips with Rena Ware. Marleny Diaz became involved with Rena Ware through the organization of her husband, Platinum Executive Leader, Juan Carlos Ezaine. When she realized that the Opportunity meant helping others reach their dreams and transforming lives, she decided she wanted to make a change in her own life. “I joined Rena Ware because it is a way that I can help people,” she says. “We were born to serve and help. I feel a great deal of happiness when I see positive changes in others.”

Besides the joy that comes from helping others, Marleny has experienced her own personal growth. “Rena Ware has helped me a lot,” she says. “It has not only been about developing leadership skills, it has helped me become a better person who cares about the wellbeing of others. My life has definitely changed with Rena Ware. I am constantly recruiting and training. I enjoy doing it; it is my passion!

Working as a nurse at a university medical center, Teresa Calizaya wasn’t progressing in her career the way she wanted. She felt something was missing. After seeing a Rena Ware presentation, Teresa fell in love with the products and bought a King Cooker. She didn’t think she could afford to buy more, so she started a Rena Ware business to earn extra. Over time she collected several products and in the process grew to love her Rena Ware business.

Today, Teresa is more than happy that she found Rena Ware and decided to change her life. “Rena Ware turned my life around 180 degrees,” she says. “With Rena Ware, I was able to untie and spread my wings. I feel free, highly positive, and will be eternally grateful.” As a new Gold Executive Leader, Teresa is even more dedicated to helping others achieve their dreams. “I know the potential for growth that Rena Ware has,” she says. “It is real and it is true. I want to especially help women who have been abandoned or mistreated – to help them learn to leave fear behind.”

Even fully employed with his Master’s Degree in geology, Manuel Uso found that his earnings were not meeting his family’s needs. Before Rena Ware, he sold different things to earn extra income. After his wife proposed that he start a Rena Ware business, Manuel joined and began selling Rena Ware in his spare time. “At first I was dedicated to Rena Ware part time only,” Manuel recalls. “This last year, when I decided to fully dedicate myself to Rena Ware, is when I have experienced the greatest growth.”

With Rena Ware, Manuel’s financial situation was not the only thing that changed for the better; he found that his relationships with others improved. He also discovered a new mission in life. “Rena Ware University has taught me how to help each member of my organization to achieve his or her individual goals,” he says. “It fills me with joy whenever a member of my organization succeeds and improves his or her life.”

Retired from teaching, Luisa Alcala continued working as a manager in a sales company. Unsatisfied with her earnings, she decided to give Rena Ware a try. She admits she faced a big obstacle at first because she was afraid to share the products with strangers. “I made appointments over the phone,” recalls Luisa, “but as I arrived at the customer’s house, I always prayed no one would be home!”

Happily, Luisa overcame her fears and today is thrilled to be able to teach others the skills they need to succeed. “Rena Ware has helped me develop my leadership skills while providing the people in my organization with the tools to discover the leaders within each of them,” she says. “I love training. ginger and cook stirring for 1 minute more. Add coconut milk and lemon leaves; cook

over low heat for 5 minutes, remove lemon leaves and process in food processor.

– Return processed soup base to 2 Litre utensil; stir in fish broth, add fish and

seafood, and cook until fish and shrimp are just done. Adjust seasoning if needed;

stir in lemon juice. Garnish with cilantro before serving.

Tip: The stew should be light. Add more fish broth if needed to bring soup to your desired texture.
