If time slots are available, workshop sessions may be scheduled repeatedly for multiple days. All workshops will be available for schools to pre book on our website where we will mention your preferred age range. However, we will not be able to control the age range or demographics of attendees so your show should appeal to as broad an age range as possible within our target range of 8 – 16 years. Each workshop should be designed to provide a hands-on experience for all attendees. Workshops should begin by briefly showing children the basics (the workshop materials and processes), and by giving a demonstration.

For example, if your workshop were about building a robot: you would present an example of the finished product, explain and show each part of the robot, and provide instructions on how to build it. After that, the children will be able to try out each activity for themselves, with the objective of encouraging their creativity and imagination while acquiring new knowledge.

We only accept interactive stands that commit to participate all four days of the festival.

If your organisation wishes to participate for only 1, 2 or 3 days at an interactive stand you must form a partnership with an exhibitor that wants to host your activity at their stand. The exhibitor hosting your activity has to include your activity description in their application. Each day only a single activity description can be promoted through the website and event guide.

If you have any questions about the formation of a partnership or would like to receive information about organisations to possibly form a partnership with, please contact [email protected]

8. Describing your activityThe way you describe your activity and the images and supporting material you provide in your application is vital as it:

• Sells your activity to us as organisers - it forms the basis of whether we think your activity is ‘right’ for YoMo

• Will sell your activity as one to visit to educators via the website and the event guide

Your activity description must describe the activity proposed in the most attractive and appealing way possible keeping in mind your activity is competing for attendee attention as a small part of a large interactive event. We strongly recommend you submit supporting materials with your application.

Remember you will be presenting not just to students but also educators who are looking for educational outputs and learning that the their students will experience by participating in your activity.

Please note: by submitting photographs or media, you hereby confirm you own the rights to them and grant GSMA and YoMo the right to use them in the promotion of your activity for the purpose of promoting YoMo and / or your activity.

9. Participation of attendees in your activityFor all scheduled activities (theatre shows, workshops and presentations) a timetable will be in place on the website and at the event guide. Teachers will be able to book their students into these sessions via our website as part of their registration to attend.

For the show floor activities (interactive stand activities and discovery trails) it will not be possible to school groups to book into your activity. Attendees will be encouraged to participate in all activities across the interactive show floor on a first come, first served basis.

10. Promoting your activityYour activity will be promoted on the YoMo website and through a printed and online version of the event guide. We will use the following from your submission:
