PROGRAM ADVISORSI N T H E K N O W

LOVES TO RECOMMEND:TC: People often come to the Ranch ready to jump-start a fitness program. This time of year I suggest getting outdoors for fabulous workouts that are lots of fun. Hiking and kayaking are always popular, and guests love our stand-up paddle boards. There’s archery, too – when’s the last time you tried that? Now’s the time!

WILL NEVER FORGET:TC: The guest whose husband had just passed away. I suggested she see Sarah Vulgamore for Loss, Grief & Remembrance. She was definitely hesitant, but the meeting was so beneficial she scheduled a second session. She came back a year later to see Sarah again. It’s great helping guests find what they need.

LOVES TO RECOMMEND:AS: Our spa services are totally amazing. Who doesn’t want to get rid of tension and get back a healthy glow? The Rosemary Citron Sea Salt Scrub and Aromatherapy Stress Relief Massage are among my new favorites. And I always suggest the Vitamin Infusion Facial, especially in summer, to protect against sun damage.

WILL NEVER FORGET:AS: A woman struggling with depression said she didn’t believe in “loopy Eastern things.” After we talked, she decided to try Therapeutic Energy, have a spiritual consultation and try hypnotherapy to help with eating habits. Afterward she told me Canyon Ranch had changed her life. It was the most amazing transformation I've witnessed.

LOVES TO RECOMMEND:MR: Take advantage of things you can do during this beautiful season. A guided walk through the Labyrinth or our new Contemplative Circle can refresh your spirit and help you look inward and find clarity. At night, I recommend going to Tanglewood and other performing arts venues for inspiration and pure delight.

WILL NEVER FORGET:MR: The guest who was coming for a milestone birthday. She wanted to do everything but couldn’t fit it all in. We talked about it and, in the end, she released the anxiety that comes with over-planning. She got spontaneous, tried new things and said it was the best trip of her life.

HOW TO EAT WELL Splurge on color: The brilliant colors of fruits, vegetables and legumes come from phytochemicals, a varied class of miracle nutrients that scientists are just beginning to appreciate fully.
