VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (VIP): Six VIP positions are open to high school students withprevious library volunteer experience who demonstrateleadership and responsibility. A minimum of 65 hours ofservice between May and August is required. VIPs areawarded $150 in September. Apply between April 2-23.CHILDREN’S SERVICES:Summer Reading Program, June 18–August 20. Assistwith the game booth, storytimes, shelving and activities.Have fun and volunteer 2 hours per week. Apply inChildren’s Services May 14-28. Early applications willreceive priority consideration. Open to 6th through 11thgrade graduates.
ADULT SERVICES:Year round program open to high school students andadults. Volunteer 2 hours per week. Apply anytime.

became an astronaut, first piloting the Space Shuttle andeventually commanding missions. He will discuss how
