Benefits
- Alternative design solutions can be analysed in early design phase- Decision support for clients, designers
In the HUT600 case, the design team produced models of three different architectural solutions and two building system solutions in the early design phase, which were analysed by Olof Granlund ( life cycle simulation ) and YIT ( cost estimation )
- Cost estimates in the early phases can be made more accurate- Organising of material deliveries and subcontracts can be made sooner- The contractor can provide efficient input in the early project phase- Data sharing through IFC/product model
Instead of a variety of conventional data transfer methods( faxes, e-mail, 2D CAD documents, etc.. )
