WelcomeWe invite you to take part in a celebration of culture through the exchange and showcase of food, fashion, tradition, and music. This is a unique opportunity for students to experience many of the world’s vibrant cultures that are thriving here on our own campus and around the globe.

The York Federation of Students (YFS) would like to make your 2015 Multicultural Week not only memorable but an experience that awakens your palate to experience the diversity around the world, and on our campus. We hope to achieve this for you by crafting creative events in which you will be able to not only express your culture, but also allow others to authentically experience it to. We are proud to have dedicated clubs participate in this event over the years, and we are eager to expand and grow by encouraging new cultural clubs to be involved.

This year we would like to ensure all clubs have a space in which they are able to authenticate their culture, unique language and strong identity without any barriers or restraints. We are always looking for input from clubs about the events so we can ensure that we are able to allow each club the opportunity to express and share their culture fully with all students at York University. This year’s Multicultural Week will be held from January 23-January 29.

Sincerely,

Meghan DuCille Vice President Campus Life

York Federation of Students

Those who come as immigrants and the generations afterwards often face various challenges in establishing themselves in Canada.
