yearbook proposal

CONCEPT We want the yearbook to highlight that we are proud of the progress that we have all made throughout the 3 years we have spent on the course. We want it to be a celebration of the hard work that we have put in and what we have achieved. COVER The cover will be black card with ‘0912’ laser cut out of it. This allows the tracing paper layer, with black and white photographs of all the members of the year group, to show through. Due to the tracing paper, the bright orange page underneath will highlight the 0912 on the front cover. The significance of 0912 is that it shows the 3 years that we spent on our degree. COLOUR SCHEME The colour scheme consists of black, white and orange. Orange symbolises pride. It also stands out well against the black and white. These colours will be used consistently throughout the yearbook. LEEDS COLLEGE OF ART BA (HONS) GRAPHIC DESIGN 4 LEEDS COLLEGE OF ART BA(HONS) GRAPHIC DESIGN 2012

“I have really enjoyed my time with the students. bright, articulate, great ideas and a wilingness to listen and learn. I expect some great things from them in the future.”

“The thing that struck us most about the course was the unbridled enthusiam - both from the students and the tutors! We really enoyed working with the students and were amazed by the strong sense of community that exists in their studios. The creative vibe is very infectious and we were blown away by the standard of work and the professionalism. We came away from our visit feeling excited and full of beans!”

TYPOGRAPHIC DETAILS

The typeface which we have chosen to use throughout the yearbook is Helvetica. The point sizes vary from 12pt for the students’ names to 8pt for the main body copy. To create a hierarchy, various weights of Helvetica have been used.

GRID

The grid has been based on 12 columns by 8 rows, with 4mm gutters. The margins on each page are 15mm.
