Year One/Two 100 Days of School Activities

We will have been attending school for 100 days on Monday, July 20.

To celebrate this momentous event, to develop and build on the concept of

the number 100, the ways 100 can be equally grouped into different arrays

(multiplication) and other interesting mathematical thinking, we ask that

you help your child bring a collection of 100 identical items that we can

work with over the next two weeks.

We ask that the items you choose are not edible because of food allergies,

and will not rot or decompose, but other than that it is up to you. Previous

years have stunned and amazed us with the inventiveness and creativity of

our school families. We have seen paddle pop sticks, toy soldiers, marbles,

counters, patty cake papers, footy cards, cotton buds, coins, paper squares,

paper clips and many more. Talk to another family with older children if you

feel stuck for ideas.

We hope you can send items by next Monday.
