FEBRUARY 2016 Year of the Fire Monkey In a number 9 year THE YEAR OF THE MONKEY On the eight of February in 2016 the positive and negative aspects of the Monkey personality will bring more excitement and magic to colour our lives with than we experienced during the docile Year of The Sheep. The Monkey is venerated by both Buddhists and Hindus, but in general the Monkey is commonly regarded as the embodiment of trickery. In Monkey years con men and women rub their greedy little paws together and look for their next victim. It would be wise for us all to ensure there are equal energy exchanges in all of our relationships and business partnerships. This is also true for ourselves, as we can flatter ourselves that we are conscious and caring people, clever as Monkeys, but what do others really think and feel about us, and how we relate in various relationship situations? In 2016, the number 9 Universal Year vibration inspires us to take a more humanitarian focus, at the same time the Monkey likes to learn new things, always knows lots of clever ideas and is able do just about anything. This means we will need to give more of ourselves in every area of life and especially in our personal relationships. Surely it’s not too difficult to accomplish if we remember that Monkeys usually live harmoniously in large groups. The Monkey energy is enormously creative and innovative, often making do with what they have at hand to meet all of their many needs. These social systems are affected by three main ecological factors: distribution of resources and group size. Within a social group there is a balance between cooperation and competition. Cooperative behaviours include social grooming (removing skin parasites and cleaning wounds), food sharing, and collective defense against predators or defense of a territory. Aggressive behaviours often signal competition for food, sleeping sites or mates. Aggression is also used in establishing dominance hierarchies.

The angry or threatened Monkey can also be menacing, and extremely noisy, will easily overthrow unworkable or corrupt systems as well as remove many old conventions that no longer work; in the interest of all. In 2016, this could mean the toppling of old empires or the replacement of iron-fisted bosses. It is not hard to guess that this year will bring about many discoveries in all fields of science and technology as well as art, music and theatre. Together, the positive and negative qualities of the Monkey vibration and number 9 will culminate in a year in which anything can happen. The influence of both 9 as the great challenger, plus the Monkey energy will put everything into continuous change. 2016 is a good year to end any toxic relationships and seek elsewhere for personal fulfillment. Break free and allow yourself to take some calculated risks, as there is nothing more powerful or rewarding than being able to follow your heart’s true desire. The energies of number 9 are supporting any humanitarian changes and the Monkey energy offers us the opportunity to embrace others with a genuine ‘live and let live’ attitude.

Some nations and their inhabitants will have been more astute and they will rake in the dollars, whilst others are in real danger of financial mayhem. Beware of personal excess, as all things will find their balance eventually. It is a year of added energy and enthusiasm, where humanity will seek for and find some very clever solutions and problem solving inventions. Lots of global economic growth can be expected as we forge ahead new ideas and innovations, the key to success this year is education. Monkey energy is very curious so it’s a great year to take up a course that matters to you and will enhance your everyday life, not just for your career or status. Monkey Sayings

THE CHINESE YEAR OF THE MONKEY FOR ALL TWELVE SIGNS

Remember, if you were born in the first two months after the Solstice (Capricorns and Aquarians) double check your Animal sign. The date for Chinese New Year fluctuates!

Year of the Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of The Rat (1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008) The Rat will receive more good new than bad this year. Rats are resilient and adaptable so Monkey year will be dynamic, rewarding and fun. It’s time for Rats to settle their home life and business affairs. Clever Rats are always the first to leave a sinking ship and although the number 9 vibration is generally all about endings and completions, in a Monkey year, it is a wise Rat who in difficult times, choose not to abandon those who trust them. Year of the Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of The Ox (1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009) The Ox will be stable, with a favourable and lucky year ahead. In 2016, The Ox may make more spiritually focused, or humanitarian choices. Monkey appreciates Ox and has respect for its energy and spiritual strength. Oxen must remember that success does not consist only of hard work timing will be important for the Ox and if they can be in the right place at the right time, they will succeed with their undertakings in Monkey years.

Year of the Monkey 2016 for those born under the sign of The Tiger (1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010) The Tiger will not find Monkey year smooth sailing. However 2016 promises to be both a productive and passionate year ahead. Tiger will be inspired to take care of business instead of chasing its own tail. Rise above gossip and avoid confrontations that might lead to lawsuits. Sensible tigers will learn a few new skills and sharpen their powers of endurance rather than their claws as they learn to quietly compromise this Monkey year. Year of Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of Rabbit (1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011) An amusing year to keep Rabbits on the hop, with a dynamic period of joyous success ahead. Kind and gentle Rabbit will surely find personal happiness. Single Rabbits may find a perfect partner. In 2016 some Rabbits may meet with a few snags and illnesses that halt their progress. Possibly a long-term project may suffer or contracts fail to materialise due to a betrayal from a trusted ally. Their natural foresight will help Rabbits overcome any obstacles in Monkey year. Year of Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of The Dragon (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012) The Dragon will have a mixed year and need to avoid diving in to something that looks too good to be true that may prove deceptive or result in the possibility of legal tangles. Wise Dragons would do well not to be too determined to have everything their own way. More compromising Dragons may save a few broken friendships, or avoid romantic quarrels. Although the Monkey year’s antics may try to throw them off balance, Dragons will generally behave with calm dignity.

Year of Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of The Snake (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013) The Snake will need to watch it’s tail this year with monkey play about. Snakes will generally be able to find help where they need it most. Year of the Fire Monkey quickly warns the enigmatic Snake to avoid being drawn into any disputes and let things burn themselves out without adding any fuel to the fire. Snake's have a natural flexibility as well as an inner wisdom that will help them to survive Monkey year in 2016 without any loss of self-esteem. Year of the Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of The Horse (1930, 1942, 1954. 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014) The Horse will enjoy a lucky year learning to trust their charismatic abilities and being blessed with unexpected benefits or sudden gains. Monkey’s self interested streak gives usually generous Horses time to review any ongoing issues involving unequal energy exchanges in partnerships and relationships. Not the year to stay silent, or allow other people to blame and justify. Meeting other's needs without true equality, depletes the Horse's vital energy and dampens their strong enthusiasm. Time for Horses to look within, working through any limiting issues. Wiser Horses will learn to avoid money grabbers or energy vampires in 2016.Horses who pay attention to the demands of the outside world will easily make it to the finish line with Monkey year bringing renewed energy and healthier self-esteem. Some Horses will use their available financial resources to create more pleasure and fulfillment as they rebuild their lives. Year of Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of The Goat (1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015) The Goat sign will have fun in any Monkey year. Goats are creatures who have less immunity to stress and in the year of Monkey, if they can push themselves forward a little, these gentle alarmists can overcome their skittish instincts in 2016. Fire Monkey is a truthful and self-determined so and so, thus helping Goats to stop pretending or hiding the truth and focus on building wellbeing and happiness,. 2016 brings new opportunities for Goats to gain experience, promotion and recognition. In love, it’s time for sensitive Goats to overcome any inner moping over past sufferings and take action in the present. In order to fully enjoy destiny's great gifts, Goats could define their real priorities in life and actually follow them. Don’t overdo it and remember that finding a new job, hiring new staff or moving office, is easier than struggling to find a new family or maintain good health.

Year of Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of Monkey (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016) The Monkey is faced with an exciting multifaceted time ahead. Passion and excessive or explosive emotions will reign, so not a great year for Monkeys to start building a family. It's unlikely they’ll choose to settle into peaceful relations and 24/7 cozy family evenings. Monkeys are always jumping from tree to tree, looking everywhere for new adventures. The main goal for Monkey is that something be interesting and lots of fun. Not bothered by any complaints from friends and relatives, they are able to find joyous adventures everywhere and with everyone. Monkey isn't guided by a job, or a project's profitability, but by inner passion and the fired up burning enthusiasm they have about it. 2016 will be full of new career prospects and if Monkey puts a little focus on work, there are opportunities to move towards to even higher spheres. It would be wise to keep any feelings of greed in check, as it’s a number 9-year with strong humanitarian vibrations. Monkey believes any missed opportunity is an overlooked adventure or that it could hold some yet untaken benefit. There is energy in abundance if Monkey does not try to do it all. Looking within and following their intuition will help Monkey choose what is really the best option. Monkeys are able to blissfully live in the now and will focus on enjoying more of their even bolder undertakings in 2016. Year of Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of Rooster (1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005) Although it will be a mixed year, the Rooster will have something good to crow about. Monkey is often very reckless and the Rooster's emotions are prone to swinging either very high or very low, so this year, in order to maintain their personal balance, Roosters will also need to ensure they avoid any errors of judgment. Roosters will benefit from taking time to personally investigate every upset or problem in an extremely thorough way. Always happiest when solving business puzzles, they are well equipped to identify any real enemy within a flock of noisy fowl and fearless Rooster will definitely not pick grain with any undesirables. Roosters may also need to continue to maintain a favourable image and pay attention to their working team. If others think they are arrogant strutting windbags, then urgently fix this situation with a little more tact and understanding. The Goddess of Love decides to strengthen the Rooster's internal discordant desires in 2016 and this may pose a few challenges, especially for those Roosters who have not yet decided whether their current partner is truly their soul mate.

Year of Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of Dog (1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006) Dogs can expect a hectic year ahead with lots of travel, extra expenses or a change in residence. In any Monkey Year The Dog will suddenly ask, why. Why do I have to guard the house for a plate of food and a half gnawed bone? The generally loyal and self-sacrificing Dog will feel a need to change their whole way of being in 2016. This is because the energetic vibration of the curious and clever Monkey inspires the Dog not to sit in a kennel howling in gloominess, just caring for others all the time, especially if it is at the expense of their own health and happiness. Monkey year brings plenty of new life choices and 2016 is the perfect year to move ahead and stop dramatising about your complicated status quo. All Dogs will have to be a little more reserved and discreet if they want greater recognition and respect. Luckily the Dog won't be in danger as all Dogs have an acute and perceptive sense of smell, which acts like a lie detector, letting them pinpoint the slightest bad odour in any tall story. A good year for Dogs to be out and about, as there are extra opportunities for meeting many influential people who may bring the Dog into a whole new and very stimulating social circle. Year of Monkey 2016 for those born under sign of Pig (1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007) The Pig may suffer from a lack of money or support for most of Monkey year. Personal and domestic problems will occupy their time and even the wildest Boar will have loyal friends offering support this year. It will be important during this critical time in a number 9 year for the Pig not to become complacent and lazy. In 2016 the Monkey energy demands action any Pigs who won't get off their backsides, believing their problems can solve themselves without any personal participation, will find after a while, that the same situation will keep returning. On the work front, Pigs will have more opportunities to more effectively and diligently demonstrate how they use their legendary wit and charm. A Monkey year is full of vitality and Pigs will find it almost impossible to refrain from getting caught up with all of the intrigues and divisions in the workplace

Pigs have a keen sense of smell, allowing them to find truffles under a layer of fallen leaves. They will sniff out and solve any cunning and insidious plan, to undermine them. In this case, the Pig 's good nature and slowness are ideally suited to the destruction of any of their enemy's plots or plans. Remember that every minute spent away from the office can mean lost benefits and opportunities. In Monkey year, Pigs will go their own way and fearlessly enjoy being stuck in the mud. After all, who says that a mud bath is harmful? Some wilder Boars more easily swayed by selfish feelings, make the most of Monkey's energy of revelry and joyous mischief, by taking a lover. Better to be more analytical in their loving relationships in 2016, to avoid any extra problems and suffering. Remember, battles of love are not a game, and if someone is emotionally injured, eventually karma will prevail and someone else will in some way cause an emotional injury to you as well. Monkey in Folklore, Religion, and Mythology. Monkey lore in India dates from before 500 BC. One of the most popular Hindu gods is Hanuman the Monkey. Revered for his bravery, strength, loyalty, devotion, and dedication to justice. His tales of heroic exploits are told in both the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. It’s common to chant the name of Hanuman when one needs heavenly intervention. He is connected to the sun, the wind, and thunder. In some parts of China, the Monkey is worshipped as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven. In Chinese mythology, the Monkey god was Sun-

Wukong, the Monkey King, and a trickster god. He is the hero of the 16th-century Chinese book Journey To The West (Xiyou Ji)

Monkey lore in Japan took hold after the arrival of Buddhism (mid-6th century AD) and is tied to Japanese Shinto-Buddhism The Monkey was alternately a messenger to the gods or a physical manifestation of a god. The origin of the Three Wise Monkeys, "Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil, See No Evil," is thought to have originated at the Hiei Shrine at Mt. Hiei. In folklore and geomancy beliefs, the Monkey was thought to protect against demons as well as disease and is a patron of fertility, safe childbirth, and harmonious marriages.

The Monkey is portrayed in Asia, as initially foolish, vain and mischievous trickster. Although, the Monkey does learn valuable lessons along the way and by making changes, the clever Monkey eventually gains redemption. The tales of the Monkey embody themes of repentance, responsibility, devotion, and the promise of salvation to all who sincerely seek it. In the Americas, the Mayans of Guatemala and Mexico worshiped a howler Monkey god who was sometimes depicted as twin-gods, a patron of the arts, music, scribes and sculptors, also a knowledge of history and life's rituals, as well as prophecy. In Aztec mythology of Mexico, the Monkey was connected to the sun, and was guarded by Cochipilli (Kokopelli), the god of flower, fun, and fertility.

The Egyptian God Thoth, whose power was unlimited in the Underworld, rivaled that of both Ra and Osiris. Thoth appears as a dog-faced baboon or a man with the head of a baboon when he is portrayed as A'an, the God of equilibrium, who reported when the scales weighing the deceased's heart against the feather of the principles of Ma'at, was exactly even. If the heart was found to be lighter or equal in weight to the feather, then the deceased had led a virtuous life and would go on to a heavenly paradise.
